I have some problems with incoming Bt connections... For example, trying to send a file from my pc results in a "service not found" message.
Idea of how to fix this, without using apps like Bt file transfer and similar?
Sent from my Galaxy Ace on GLSMT 2.1 with XDA app.
Issue came after istalling new V6 Supercharger version (RC4). Nobody faced the same issue?
Edit: Posting this to help who may have the same problem (or not, who cares XP). Activating Bt just as soon as the phone boots up (before all apps/scripts/etc get loaded) makes it work correctly!
...though data connection won't work this way.
Wi-Fi works but no data. To have it run I have to reboot again without Bt (nor Wi-Fi) active.
I'm still trying to get to the point, because I really don't know how to get out of this (little but annoying) trouble.
Any help would be really appreciated, since I'd been blowing my mind on it in the past 2 days... >.>
Ok so I'm having issues with sending files over Wifi Direct to another S3.
S-Beam works perfectly fine, so I can send an image, video or music to the other person.
File transfers e.g. PDF, Zip etc work fine from the other person's phone to mine
But
When I send files to the other person's phone they do not get a prompt asking them to accept/reject the file and it just sits in limbo not going anywhere.
Has anyone else experienced this or have any idea what might resolve it?
Side note: Sending files over Bluetooth works fine, however this is a lot slower.

Hello,
Are you using a custom ROM / kernel and have you rooted your phone?
I am having the same issue you described with Omega 6 ROM and Siyah kernel, but a friend with a stock un-rooted ROM has no issues.
Thanks
Yes i am .must be something to do with the rom or kernel

apparently not yet ...
it SEEMS to be linked to the radio issues in the custom roms (all).
wifi direct chip runs on the same hardware circuitry?
I have gone back to stock rom and am testing to see if it's the rooting or the custom roms that break it.
Will update you when I have some solid info. :crying:
Well, the verdict is in.
Used the S3 Toolit V2, did insecure boot image + ROOT and wifi direct is still working, after having flashed stock rom.
The fault lies in the custom ROMS.

Mine just sits there too, tried sending files to an s2 and the s2 never prompted to accept the files. I'm using stock but with cf root.

So wifi direct will not work on any custom roms?
I've been reading the other threads, and some are claiming that they have no problems with their wifi direct.
no request on a gs2 to accept the file i want to transfer as well.
even though i am on "stock" LF6 (but rooted)
Any update or workaround for solving this issue?

Well, There is no love for me with OMEGA 8.1 and stock Insecure kernel.
Let's make a list of ROMs and Kernels that have a working WiFi Direct.
Wanamlite 2.0 and stock kernel, wifi direct works
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Omega 11 - works perfectly
Same problem
I also am facing the same problem
I can receive files normally from other s3 and s2 devices but when i try to send, i select the device i want to send to, tick beside it, and when i press done nothing happens
i have tried with a friends s3 and his works fine
i am using the custome rom
Change rom to LG8 (with stock kernel) and it should work. It may be a custom rom but based on LG8 (omega for example).
Working now
I formatted my device and now wifi direct is working

I am having this EXACT same problem! My fiance and I are running the exact same model, and same software (Blazer ROM). I don't know what the problem is, because I did not have this problem with my friends S3. I used wifi direct to send the file for installing blazer rom directly to his phone by changing the extension from .zip to .flac, and because I can still receive files, I have NO clue what is broken or what to do!
Same WiFi Direct issues, but with stock ROM
I'm having similar issues trying to transfer between my rooted stock GS III I9300 and a galaxy tab(P3110) with CM9. The devices seem to be connecting initially but when I try to transfer something it doesn't work. It's actually doesn't mean anything because I don't see myself needing to that a lot(or ever). I'm just playing around. But since I know it doesn't work it bugs me. Kind of a "can't be unseen".
Hi, I have had my galaxy s2 for over a year and have been sending files to my phone via Bluetooth with no problems all this time. Now I want to do a transfer the other way and it's not working. :-(
The devices are paired, I hit share, Bluetooth, file starts to send but I receive no notification that my phone is trying to send a file. I get a notification when the phone is connected and as I said it works fine from PC to phone. I have checked the settings, sharing is checked and so is notifications. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks.

Did you enable Bluetooth on PC? It happened to my Acer laptop too. I need to enable Bluetooth feature by pressing "Bluetooth Button" and only then I'm able to send file to my laptop from my S2.

Check for the permissions of ur phone in paired devices list...also check the bluetooth settings and notification settings in pc,,,there must be smthing wrng in those only...
Try ,,,most probably u'll find it..
As fas as I remember Samsung's inbuilt file send via bluetooth doesn't send songs (mp3 etc)
Try sending it with other file explorers's bluetooth like Astro, ES File Explorer, File Expert...
Hi, sorry for not replying. This post wasn't showing in my profile and it was like searching for a needle in a haystack. Checked permissions and have recently started using phoneexplorer. Now I can't seem to download to phone. Arrrhhh

People are still sending me texts even though I can't read them. I can still hear notification sounds. I've gotta get a replacement quick, but I also need to get the important texts I missed. Is there any way I can get them through my mac?
To be clear, the screen is completely blank but I can still unlock it via touch pattern. It takes a few tries but Android File Transfer on the mac will tell me if it can or can't connect. If it can't, I just try again and I can get it. So the touch part still works, it just doesn't show any information.
The phone is a Galaxy Nexus. When I connect it to my Mac, I can see the files in it via the Android File Transfer window. However, I can't find the texts here.
I have the Android SDK installed and I was told I can do this:
adb pull /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/mmssms.db
However the device shows up as offline when I do adb devices. I can't figure out a way get it showing up as online without being able to use the screen.

Ohhh.. That's alright! I think you should leave it to the closest Samsung repair centre, or just a place that can repair you device. Maybe they know how to take out the sms, or fix your screen.

Broken to the point where the touchscreen doesn't work? If so, then there isn't much you can do, unless USB Debugging is already enabled, and even that depends on which update it's on, to whether or not you can access it with a new PC without accepting the key on the phone if trying to connect via adb. If the touchscreen still works, then there is a variety of ways to retrieve texts.
