Bumping in a short time span is as you know against the rules .

Not sure why you didn't back up your files BEFORE you flashed the GB ROM... bit basic.
I would flash the ICS ROM again - the format/layout or CRC check of the internal memory might be different and need to match.
Good luck, or hard luck.
And don't bump like a mad person.... bad etiquette

[Q] Recover lost data from INTERNAL SD?

Hello,
I lost photos and videos 2 days ago and I flashed jelly bean after that.
I tried so many programs to recover lost photos and videos from my internal SD such as undelete (doesn't support ext4) , hexamob recovery pro (no files found) & Easy UMS with Stellar Phoenix Photo Recovery on PC (didn't recognize the internal SD as removable device).
Would you please help me with this problem?
My device info:
Samsung Galaxy S3 I9300
Android 4.1.1
CF-Root 6.4
Stock Kernel
Not recoverable see multiple same question posts .
Nandroid backup may have the files on it .

Thanks
I've been looking for many hours and read many threads in XDA and out but no result so I asked here to consult people with experiance.
And Nandroid backup didn't work
Thanks again

Updat via Kies failed, what now?

Hi all,
My sister-in-law hooked up her phone to her laptop and then Kies responded there was an update. I know for a fact that she was on 2.3.6 and the suggested update was the ICS one.
The phone booted in download mode and then got stuck on 12%, then she turned to me.
I'm pretty familiair with Android phones and I rooted and installed custom ROMs on quite a lot of phones. But, it was always with a full backup and I always made sure the phone numbers were on the SIM card as an extra precaution.
Now, this phone is NOT rooted, just stock 2.3.6 on it, she made no backups of any kind and there's no external SD card in it so the photo's are on the internal memory.
So, what I need first, if possible, is access to the internal memory. Normally, I can mount the memory in clockworkmod recovery, but this phone is not rooted so no CWM. Can I flash a kernel to get CWM? And if yes, which one?
Secondly, is there any way to backup the phone numbers? If I flash a new ROM I will loose al numbers, right?
Hope someone can help, she's quite desperate! (me too actually)
one part of information I forgot to give;
when I pull out the battery and reboot the phone after putting it back, I just get the phone/warning sign/pc logo and the text "firmware upgrade encountered an Issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies ans try again"
When I do that, Kies sees the phone, starts downloading a recovery image of some sort and stay on 100% for a few minutes and then closes without any error message.
Numbers are stored in Google account, and Internal memory is not formatted if you do a factory reset. I could recommend you to move your question to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1648351&page=148

Hi, I just flashed a stock ROM of the same version with Odin.
Phone is ok again, nothing is lost.
Camera was set on storing photos in internal memory, I changed it.
All contacts were already stored on the SIM card so no sync to Gmail

after format
VOILLA MY INTERNAL SD CARD GOT FORMATTED INSTEAD OF USB ONE WHICH I HAVE MOUNTED THROUGH USB OTG CABLE..
I have no backup and i have lost all my data on internal sd storage... photos, music, videos, other data such as text documents , pdf documents , tar files of recovery etc.

is there any way to UNDO this operation?? I mean can we UNFORMATthe internal storage ???
really need your advices and solutions
thanks..
Yes solution is simple.
Go back in time.
Backup data like any sane person would have done.
If your files were that important why didnt you do simple things like make backups to your PC or even just via dropbox app that automatically uploads photo's via wifi?
Try a partition recovery software.
If you cant fix I have no sympathy since its easy to make backups of needed data. No excuse really.

I did give you expert advice. I am an expert in backing up my data in case of device problem or if I somehow decide to format my card.
As I said earlier try a partition recovery software.
Expert Advice:
Follow XDA rule #1 and use search. We have many topics about users formatting cards and then needing to recover data. This is a non-device specific topic so search whole site or even google.
Well you coud try Testdisk and Photorec
the site is cgsecurity
Or option 2 try recuva with deep scan enabled, also the option to scan for lost or damaged files should be turned on.

- Connect your phone trough USB cable and activate mass storage mode
- Depending on what files are lost (probably photos and videos), look for format recover software (Like recovery my files)
- Use it on mounted SD card
PS:
If you have used some part of your internal sd card after formatting, you probably lost some files forever, if you haven't yet, DON'T USE IT BEFORE RECOVERY !!

Give some app suggestions is fine. Once we have those, we know the key terms to search for.
I've tried cg-security apps, they're made for Windows/Linux/BSD etc, but won't install on android.
I tried aidfile installed on Windows but it won't detect the phone internal storage either.
I have all my photos.
I lost a database document that is 760mb. Most backupsoftware (Skydrive, Asus Webstorage, DropBox etc) won't upload it.
I sent the phone for warranty and they formatted my phone, and lost that document. I just need that back. It is in internal storage, there is no sd card on this android.
Try Recuva but don't get your hopes up. Not likely to work. If they've formatted the phone, it's gone. Android isn't like Windoze where 'files aren't really deleted'.
Edit - Also, beware of some (all ?) of the 'data recovery' apps on Google Play. Many (certainly the several I've tried) of the non-paid versions will go through their process of checking, and tell you that your file can be recovered, but you need to get the paid version of the app. You pay for the app, and then find they tell you the file recovers OK (funny about that, right ?) but is 'corrupted' (which is basically bull****, the file can't be recovered at all, but you paid for the app so they have to give you something, right ?) & useless. This scenario is highly likely in the case of a file like the one you're talking about if you do get suckered in by those apps.

You can't undo the formatted, but the data was not really gone, you still can use some data recovery tool to recover your photos.
You can try this guide about how to recover photos from Samsung Galaxy S II.
I recommend you backup your photos with Google Photos, it has 15GB free storage, I think it's enough for your 1 year's photos.

How to recover deleted photos from internal memory?

Guys i need your help!
I accidentally deleted all of my photos that i have taken (about 500 of em) today . Unfortunately they were all on my internal storage . I have been trying all sorts of recovery software , i had no luck . I am currently on MM 6.0.1 . My device is an unlocked ATT v10 . Please help i need theese photos badly!!
p.s. (sorry for the bad english)
Should there be a solution, sure would try it as well
Depends if memory has been rewriten. If not there are tons of apps for that
There are some Android recovery apps you can try like GT Recovery, DiskDigger, etc. But I think this Android data recovery is more powerful.
