This is my issue...
Whenever i exit Whatsapp by using the Back button, the screen freezes for few seconds, ?Then, i get a black screen for another few seconds, then it takes me back to my Home Screen, and everything is back to normal... no error msgs.. nothing at all
And starting few hours ago, it is doing the same thing with other few apps.
I'm using Nova Launcher Prime if that matters
I tried removing Nova, i tried using another Rom, went back to Stock, same thing, removed Whatsapp, same thing. I'm pretty sure it's something related to an app, but idk :crying:
HELP ME SOLVE THIS ISSUE AND I WILL PAY YOU $50 THROUGH PAYPAL OR ANY OTHER METHOD YOU LIKE, NO JOKES!!
Seems to be an app bug..Try factory reset. Dont restore your backup and see if the problem persists.

I would have to agree it sounds like a bug in the app if the factory reset doesn't fix it write the developer and ask him about it he may already know of the bug or at least he may need to know

Use odin flash back to stock ics. Download the galaxy s3 toolkit in the development section to root your phone and install cwm(clockwork mod) and install your custom rom

Go into development settings menu and disable HW overlays and Force GPU rendering see if that works?
For deep wipe enter the below code on dialpad. It cleans everything on your internal SD as well. BUT backup any files you want on internal SD. This will not give any warning will start the process once you enter last #
Type*2767*3855# Full
factory reset (Don't dial
it does not ask you to
confirm unless you have
problem)
Then via ODIN install the latest ICS ROM and try whatsapp before installing 3rd party installers. I'm using whatsapp w/o issues on Goexlauncher and Omega V16.1 (JB ROM)

Using [Rom]AOKP (4.0.4) Update 4.18.2012
I keep getting a "Rom Control stopped working" error. I wiped & factory reset, reflashed twice now and still keep getting the message.
It seemed to first occur when I had changed the boot animation option in the settings.
Anyone else seeing this error come up often too?

are you using google services to restore apps? are you restoring apps or system data using Titanium backup? does it happen right after flashing or after you restore apps?

I restored my contacts from google, and turned off the boot animation in rom control.
That's all I did. Then I saw the error and figured to wipe everything and re-flash, upon re-flashing it just started popping up again after turning off boot animation. Not sure if I had restored my contacts before or after.

HI,
Having searched the threads i seem to arrive at no help!!! My neo (MT15 early model) was recently updated using the software from the official site but my phone will only show the screen briefly then go blank BUT the backlight remains on. i can still receive messages and calls but cant see them unless i take the battery off then turn on again. even then it takes 3 or 4 attempts.
Any help or direction would be appreciated
Thanks
If your phone is rooted, try using chainfire 3D, but before that make a NANDROID backup.
Also this app does not work on jelly bean (it will brick your phone) so if you're using JB, don't use the app.

how can i factory reset my phone? i've tried linking it to the pc but cant find anywhere that does it!!!
Marf pointed out something good,
Right now forget about what I said and go to "settings > privacy" and hit "factory reset". But before that make a backup of your contacts with "NQ Mobile Security" cause they will be removed.
Hope it works, cause if not you gonna have to become expert

Clean flash or dirty??Tried clearing cache, fixing permissions? Have you tried uninstalling re-installing?? Did you check the music folder settings to make sure the correct folders are checked?
I did a dirty flash at first but went back to do a clean one. I have checked the music folder and uninstalled it. I will try fixing permission and other things

after you clean flashed did you restore power amp from titanium backup or fresh install?
Restored it from titanium backup but then I deleted it because it wasn't working. But it still didn't work. I tried clearing my cache didn't do anything. How do I fix the permissions on the app?

you can fix permissions in whatever recovery you are using...twrp or cwr.
best bet may be to un-install it, reboot to recovery, wipe caches, fix permissions, reboot, re-install fresh from the playstore. That should definitely get you running. If not, you may have a bigger issue other than just power amp.
So I tried that and it did not work. I am running beans 12 with blue cheez theme and the addon for it

Not sure what else to suggest. I've never run the blue cheez theme so maybe something with the theme is conflicting. You could try a clean flash of B12 and install power amp first and see if it opens before adding any themes or mods, maybe narrow it down that way. Aside from that I'm out of suggestions but hope you get it. I'm a longtime power amp user and would have a hard time switching
Good luck
I've dirty flashed Beans 12 and I use PowerAmp with no problems. I don't use any theme, though.

I'm on Saber and was on beans stock but I've never had an issue with any kernel and power amp(on any rom or device)
Just to be clear, when you are "clean flashing" you are wiping all including cache, data, and system correct?
Yes doing all of the steps. Everytime I click it to use it. It just shows the poweramp screen and then goes to whatever I was doing before
Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk 2
I gave up on PowerAmp myself.
I have the paid version & have never had the slightest problem before with it in many different phone/rom/kernel setups.
Now, running the Beans ROM (v2)/Perseus kernel setup listed in my sig, I can't get PA to display the song list panel anymore.
It will show my music folder on my 64gig card, but on the screen where it should say "songs" that listing is not even there.
I tried everything from fixing permissions, deleting & reinstalling the newest version from the playstore etc. etc.etc. and absolutely NOTHING worked.
It's really weird because both JetAudio & the stock music player work perfectly, so I finally said F it and deleted PA and use one of those apps.
My son is also a long time PA user (he has a Galaxy 3) and he told me has gotten away from using it lately also as some of the latest versions where giving him annoying FC and freezup problems and JetAudio works perfectly for him also.
Please help me to solve A BIG problem I have.
My Samsung SII was automatically updated to the new android version Jelly Bean (I9100XXLS8). Ever since the update when i'm in the menu section of the phone, it speaks back ("Page 1 of 4, page 2 of 4 etc). This only happens when I flick through the menu pages. It still talks back when the phone is on silent or vibrate. I have tried the accessibly section already - talk back is not switched on. I have tried switching talk back on and off to see if that works and it doesn't. I have tried looking at the google voice section with no luck. It's driving me crazy - anyone know any ways to get rid of it?
EDIT: NoLED aplication was the problem.
Have you tried uninstalling talkback?
