I plan to sell my Bell S2 phone, can you please let me know what stock ROM I should install?
I basically want to flash a ROM with Odin that will allow KIES updates from Bell and the rest of the shebang. Thanks for your help.

Don't use Kies, use Odin, it's far less temperamental. Just download th XWKE2 firmware from samfirmware.com and flash in the PDA section of Odin

Wow, that's a hell of a long time, leave it to download overnight? Mine took a while but only because it's a big file and it certainly didn't take a day! I'm sorry I don't know anywhere else to get stock firmware from apart from Samfirmware.com and the god awful Kies...
Its not posted on here by any chance using a different upload service .

I have installed an unsecure kernel in my galaxy s2 (GT I9100G) but since I cannot find the original stock kernel, I wanted to roll back to the stock android version that came with s2 and thus wanted to know how could I re-install the firmware from KIES.
Thanks

You need to reflash stock using ODIN before you can use kies, as Kies doesn't recognise custom kernels.

Will reflashing bring back the stock kernel and make the phone unrooted in short make it the way Samsung sold it to me?
Also, I am using Galaxy S2 I9100G build number GINGERBREAD.XWKJ2 and for it only 1 unsecured kernel was available at this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1327509
I rooted my phone without any problem but since there's no way to get back the stock kernel, I am afraid that if need be, how am I gonna claim warranty for my device.

Yes aslong as you flash the firmware that came with it t will be like as samsung sold it. Have a look at intratech's thread he may just have the kernel if you still have the original firmware on it already.

Yes, I do have the original firmware on it. Didn't have enough guts to play with custom ROM :/
I did check intratech's thread and found stock kernel for XWKJ2 but the thread titles says "Official i9100 Firmwares" whereas my phone shows i9100G. I guess this won't work.
And, when flashing to original firmware, will the kernel's be replaced to the original one's as well?
Thanks for suck quick replies Am just a n00b diving into Android
You can extract the original kernel yourself if you want it http://www.hotfile.com/dl/136857418/c144909/I9100GXWKJ2_I9100GODDKJ2_INU.zip.html

Downloaded it. Now what do I do? Flash s2 with this, backup using titanium, root device and then use the stock to get rid of yellow triangle? Am I missing anything?
Thanks for your help
BTW, is there a way to get the latest available firmware in my country/region via KIES so that I can be 100% sure of being in right place
i cant post the link right now but you can google
"How to goback/use Kies update after using ODIN,Rooting or Custom Firmware : Video Guide"
and go the the dialandroid website they have a way to make it like original again
Now that the Bell Rom/Modem/Kernel are all available. I have a question that I have not seen answered, or at least not in a way that I understand.
With my old phone I used CyanogenMod for about 98% of the time a had my phone (1.5 years). I intend to use it again with the SGS2 but not till the it is a "Stable Mod" I don't like to use the "Experimental Mod" ones.
With that said, what I'm looking to do is have my phone with the same stock OS on the phone that is on it now, but With Root Access. So that I can install Apps that need Root and Delete the Bell installed apps (or even the some Samsung ones) that I don't want. Also I just want to get the ball rolling...
My question is, can this be done? Is this what the post from "Intratech" http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278 is telling me how to do? With the option to install a third party ROM only "IF" I want to?
Or do I have to install a third party ROM after the phone is rooted because the Bell Stock one will not work.
Thanks,
P.S. I don't know if this matters but I do have a "Jig"
You can do it one of two ways. The easiest would be for you to flash a cf-root kernel which will install and after that you can just flash back the original bell kernel. You can also go the s2 root route by flashing an insecure kernel, running the s2 root app (might have to do it twice for it it work) and then flashing the stock kernel once again. Either way will leave you running stock with root access. The triangle will not appear if you are on the stock kernel. The jig comes in handy by resetting the flash counter.
Cf-root thread :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399
S2 Root thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1125414
Just tried http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278 Guide on my (never rooted) SGS2 and didn't work...
The "Flashing Firmware with Odin" part of the instructions worked (i didn't see any thing changed on my phone, but all the checks and PASS and OK was there)
In the next part "Quick Root Guide" when I got to SuperOneClick part it just kept freezing on Part #6... I was using ver. 2.1.1 and then I tryed 2.1 then 1.95 and all did that same thing...
Looks like I'll have to try this Cf-root thing...
Well since Bell uses a KG2 kernel, just flash the CF Root JP_XSG_KG2 kernel from Chainfire's thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399 and reflash the stock Bell Kernel. This is probably the closest way of staying to stock while still having root. Not sure if CWM will work, but I'm guessing you only want root with stock.
I'm not sure if Chainfire will release a CF root for the stock Bell kernel (probably will when he gets back from vacation) but if you're impatient and want to get rid of that bloatware, the JP_XSG_KG2 will give you root.
Hey any body here has the Bell Stock ROM
I need to reflash my bell Phone and I need the Bell Stock Rom again.
Thanx

Let's start here.
Your profile says "T-Mobile", with a US flag. So are you sure you are an I9100 user? Or do you actually have an SGH-T989, which is the T-Mobile USA variant of Galaxy SII?
FYI, this is the I9100 forum, which is a completely different model of phone than the T-Mobile USA variant.
I'm form poland and i'm in t-mobile. And i'm sure i have SGH-I9100 -.- And i want to make phone stock to kies compatibile with it.

Ah, good, you changed your flag.
Unfortunately, a lot of the links in Intratech's thread are for multiupload, which has been shut down.
However, you should be able to download a stock firmware for Poland from samfirmware.com. Flash that, and you should be good to go.
ok ill try
By the way - I hope you meant "GT-I9100"... as there is no such model as "SGH-I9100".
I downloaded from that site the newest rom for my country and kies says my device isn't operating kies update.

So you flashed an ICS firmware (4.0.3) already. Flash to a 2.3.6 firmware if your want Kies to update it to ICS for you.

So if i have current version (ICS) this is the same as i would update it by kies ?

*sigh*
My point here, was you have to be precise on model numbers.
GT-I9100 is not the same as GT-I9100G, is not the same as GT-I9100P, is not the same as GT-I9100T.
I9100G cannot use the same firmwares as any of the other three.
I9100P can use I9100 firmwares, but will lose NFC if you do (unless you re-enable it via a mod)
I9100T can use I9100 firmwares, but will probably have to flash a modem optimized for Tesltra to get good signal afterwards.
If you start telling people you have an "SGH-I9100", no one will know what you have, or be able to help you.

If you have Galaxy S2 I9100 (International Version) you can flash it via ODIN.
Hi Everyone.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S2
Kernal WXLP4 optus firmware.
I rooted the phone and stupidly let my son play with it and he has deleted important firmware apps such as Touch whiz and other things that are making my phone almost unusable.
Unfortunately there is no firmware repair on kies so i was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on what to do. I did a factory reset and it does not restore these important firmware files unfortunately.
Any help would be great.

Where can I download the latest stock Samsung ICS ROM (is it called AOP)?
Thanks.

Even your flashing is done via Kies or Odin, you need to re-root your device. ChainFire supports rooting for stock ICS.
