CWM backup errors around 4gb - Barnes & Noble Nook Tablet

Hello, hope you can help. Some background, I rooted my Nook with Indirect's method last Christmas after getting the 1.4.1 update the blocked side loading. I restored to 1.4.0, rooted and blocked OTAs. Have been fine ever since. Started getting the 'insufficient space' error when trying to download certain apps from 'Google Play Market'. I started uninstalling apps to clear space and stupidly thought titanium backup and titanium backup pro were separate products, not companion products. I uninstalled titanium backup and cannot get it to download again, because of the 'insufficient space' error. I've since read more and wanted to clear 'dalvik cache', but guess what, can't do it because I don't have titanium backup.
I created the SD R3 card and booted in the CWM menu. When I try to backup my current rom, the backup fails around the 4g+, not always on the same file/app, this is on a 8g card and there is plenty of room left.
So what are my best options here? I do like the B&N reader and want to retain access to their market, but use Go Launcher and Dolphin instead of the stock B&N apps, and like access to Amazon and Google Play markets.
Should I return to stock and try to reroot with Indirects method? Do I need to use a different PC?
Should I use the SD card to reroot? I'd also like to repartition my space this time around.
I do have backups of most of my apps on my SD card, but these were done using Titanium Backup and I have no access to them now.
Any suggestions where I should go from here?
Thanks for any help.

do any errors show up when the backup fails in cwm? can you attach screenshot of the backup process that you are trying to do?

I had problems restoring my backups in cwm because they were to big. I updated my cwm to 6.0.1.2 from in the development forum and it gives my issue. The new cwm also does its backups different too so I would update yours and try backing up then.

insufficient space. market problem

I have searched and searched... so any help would be appreciated. I was running eclipse v5, and decided I wanted to go back to rooted gb. I sbfed back to stock gb, than used one click root. Phone achieved root and I went to market to dl titanium to restore my apps. Got error "insufficient memory, unable to dl" or something like that. So Using bootstrap I restored using my nandroid backup. Everything restored fine. Except the fact im getting the same error in marketplace. Im reaching out as a last ditch because I generally like to solve my own problems and every fix I have seen is not working. Have wiped cache and app data for market, uninstalled and restored using tb, restored nandroid 3 times, and a few other things. Any help would be appreciated if anyone has had this problem before. I am now on my eclipse v5 nandroid backup.
It's because on Eclipse, your SD cards are flipped around. So your external card (mine is my 16gb from my OG) turns into your internal memory. It's not like this on stock GB, so when you restored from TB, it tried to put your apps in the same place. Since your 'internal memory' is now the standard, partitioned built-in SD card, you don't have enough space. Go into preferences in TB, and there is an option you can uncheck that restores apps to their original location. Do that and try again.

[Q] How to transfer EVERYTHING to my SD card?

my 32gb sd card will be here today. I need to put all of my music (in google music), all my contacts, all my apps, and any other data that can be transferred. I want this because on my last android phone i never used my SD card and now i wish i had a backup. Thanks!
As far as the music goes just use a file manager to transfer the files. my personal favorite is root explorer.
And for the contacts and apps it would probably just be easy to sync them to your gmail. then when you get a new android it will download all the apps you had and add to your contacts list.
Would be nice if there was a simple. Way anyone...
Simpler How? doesnt get much simpler than clicking sync to google
was your last phone rooted? If so, did you use Titanium backup...if so back up all user apps with tibu and put your backups on your ext sd. IF your NOte is rooted...put in ext sd from old phone and restore ONLY user apps with tibu. back up and restore contacts using google.
If you were NOT rooted on old phone and NOT on the Note...it will be harder. BUT when you go to market with new phone it will have all your PAID apps in "my apps" and you can d/l again. What i did when i wasn't rooted was write down all my apps so you don't forget what apps you have that aren't PAID. and re d/l/ it honestly has been sooooooooooooo long since i have had an unrooted phone that is the best i can do. I am getting my Note on Monday and until i root it so that i can bing , bang , boom with tibu and restore i am not going to mess with it.
I guess what i am saying is ...someone who wasn't and isn't rooted may be able to help cause it has been forever for me with an unrooted phone.
YOu can xfer files onto your ext sd but ROOT exp requires root..so....you can try the stock file mgr.
Part 2:
How do you force applications to install to the greater 10GB of internal memory & not the measly 2Gb?

Also...
I had the exact same issue you are having shortly before my old NT crapped out. Not saying yours will, just giving my voice to the issue. Really all I wanted to do was clear the caches (initially) so I could download additional apps (even though it said I had plenty of space, it was erroring every time).
Replacement is working great, though I need to update CM10 so my son can play Where's My Perry without it going into SOD (with audio rapid repeat, no less).
Or this method right here might work for you, too.
thanks for the the help. after a lil research I was able to determine the problem is with CWM 5.X. it cripples when data that is larger then 2gb.
Your entire backup can be whatever size but if the /data backup is larger then 2gb then my problem is common. I did my routine backups with TB and uninstalled a bunch of apps and games. Got he data well under 2gb and the nandriod backup was flawless. :good:
thanks again

[Q] Insufficient Memory

When i first bought the GN2 I also bought a 64GB SD card so I could put all the apps I wanted on the phone not realizing (until it was too late!) that I can't get apps to load on the SD card. Now, every time I try installing another app (wireless tether or GL to SD so I CAN move some apps) I keep getting an error message "Insufficient Space- please uninstall some apps for more space." I have tried uninstalling everything I am not using on a daily basis. I have used Root Explorer to delete empty folders in internal memory. Now I cannot install anything, not even apps to help. What do I need to uninstall to make this thing work again???
Verizon GN2, SCH-I605, rooted, bootloader unlocked, stock rom.

You can use an SD swap script if you are rooted.
You cannot add apps to the SD. Either use the swap script or use titanium backup, make a backup, and uninstall app.
If you are having issues installing apps when there are memory, readd you google acct/play acct. That fixed it for me when i could install some play store apps.

Titanium Backup not seeing old backups

Hello everyone,
I'm hoping you can help me with an issue I'm having with Titanium Backup not being able to see old backups. I just reflashed stock de-odexed 5.0.1 using Flashfire. In Flashfire I set it to wipe 3rd party apps before flashing. The flash went fine and my phone went through the setup fine, and I chose not to restore all my app/setting from Google. All the TB backups were still on my SD card and I set the backup location in TB to the old directory on my SD card. But my problem is when I got to restore user apps in TB, it can't see any of the old backups in the TB directory on my SD card. Anyone else ever experience this? Did you find a way to fix it so TB could see all the old backups?
Thanks.
Eric
I'm guessing it's related to 5.0.1 not allowing access to your external SD card. Try running SD Fix, available in the app store. Be sure to reboot after you run the app. Hopefully, this will fix the problem!

Thanks for the suggestion. I looked into that, but it didn't fix anything.
I'm having this issue too, you're not alone. I recently flashed Hyperdrive RLS21 over stock rooted MJ7 and TB could not see my user apps backup on the external SD card... Very weird. I'll let you know if I come up with anything.
