I mean, Project Butter is present in any JB ROM? I want to know if an official Galaxy S III JB Update with Nature UX has Project Butter or is exclusive for AOSP JB ROMs with Vanilla Launcher.
Thanks!
Project Butter is for the entire system.

Each of them has cons and pros over each other. That's your choice. I like aokp and cm, some people like miui.
I might, just might be wrong, but this thread doesn't belong in Galaxy S II Android Development.
CM10 is most stable.. so I would say its best

Yeah right...
from one of my old posts, I believe OP will find this useful.
"-AOSP stands for Android Open Source Project, and it is headed by Google.
-CYANOGENMOD (CM) is based on AOSP with their own customizations. It is headed by CM team.
-AOKP stands for Android Open Kang Project. It's based on CYANOGEN MOD with their own (more) customizations. It's headed by AOKP team.
***So in summary, ***
-AOKP is more customizable than CYANOGENMOD, faster but a bit less stable than CYANOGENMOD.
-AOKP is compatible with almost any MOD made for CM Roms e.g Themes.
-Any bug present in CYANOGENMOD will also be present in corresponding AOKP version and thus on all AOKP based Roms.
-because AOKP contain it's own bugs + the native bugs present in it's parent CYANOGENMOD, it is a little less stable than corresponding CYANOGENMOD.
-Miui is very customizable too. It's based on CYANOGENMOD (I'm not sure if this has changed now).
-Miui At the moment, is less stable than both CYANOGENMOD and AOKP based Roms"
To answer your question,
-CM10 /CM10 based Roms are the most stable at the moment

Interesting, so basically we have pure google ICS, then sammy stock and then all the rest is CM derivates?

What's some differences in cm10...I've not flashed a cm10 rom yet and I was just curious? Is there any difference in how the UI functions?
Sent from my LG-P500 using xda premium
No difference in the UI.. just the performance of jelly bean is better
Sent from my LG-P500 using xda app-developers app
CM9: Based on Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.4
CM10: Based on Jelly Bean 4.1 - 4..2
Apart from the difference in upgraded Android OS versions, Jelly bean holds a smooth UI with improved notification support and performance. It also adds some cool framework features like the notification dropdown which has been improved significantly. To sum up, if you are willing for stability go for CM9 which can be used as a daily driver but If you want drastic improvements with some bugs to compromise with, choose CM10. On this note, I would also state that bugs are being solved at a speed and so will you get a bugless CM10 soon. Thanks to Rashed, adfad666 & Bytecode.
I tried Rashed's and adfad666 CM10 ROMS and the only difference I found aside of the notification bar was the version number and the countless bugs. ._. !
All jb roms have terrible battery life atm. If you use WiFi a lot that alone is a no go.

Hey guys
I very, very like the idea of new Android 4.2 lockscreen with widgets, but I want it on my s3, too.
So ist anyone around who knows a mod that adds the lockscreen to this device (running wanamrom), or anyone who could make such a mod?
Pls.

Any custom ROM that is based on Android 4.2.1. Your current list is CM10.1, SlimBean, task650's AOKP, AOKP, Illusion, and LiquidSmooth. Jellybam will be updating sometime today for the I9300, hopefully soon for the other SIII variants (d2att, d2tmo, etc.). I have tried all of them so far except for Jellybam on my AT&T SIII, and CM10.1 nightlies were working the best for me, but the rest give you some more options since they are AOKP-based.
Good luck

Yep i had jellybam but it has a lock screen bug cannot wake up again after locked the problem is I don't want to loose s3 features like touchwiz, multi window amd others
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
You tried the Jellybam for I9300? He got that out fast
Just bear in mind that the only version so far of android to natively support widgets on the lock screen is jellybean 4.2.1.

Widgets aren't supported on TouchWiz since the S3 hadn't updated to 4.2.1 yet. If you want your ToucjWiz and stuff, check out an app called WidgetLocker.
Sent from my SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
Jellybam nightly for s3 already includes the new lockscreen with widgets and new quick settings and all the stuff but well it has that lockscreen lag that makes it impossible to use it probably
Edit: it's the thing that i want the new Android stuff always but don't like the original android looking as on nexus but different from many others I love the s3 touchwiz
Unfortunately the won't ever be stuff from the premium suite on aosp or aokp roms, so i can't wait for 4.2 for s3 ^^

What exactly do you mean by lockscreen lag? I know that on nearly every ROM I have tried out, there are issues with the screen wake function, where it sometimes takes two or the presses to wake it up. From what I can tell, this is a problem with AOSP in its entirety.
Sent from my SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
Lockscreen lag: when you lock your phone and try to wake up again (with home or lock button) screen turns on for a millisecond and shut down again so you cannot unlock your phone again and need to restart phone and this is everytime not just from time to time it makes the rom unusable I tried everything full wipe etc
(Hope you understand my English is not the best)

The 5.1.0 version? Did you tried it with either siyah kernel or cm 10.1 kernel?
Is it even built for your device?^^

Version 5.1.0 is notoriously unbootable. You get to a bootloop at the boot animation on all the d2 devices so far. iGio90 is supposed to be releasing a fixed 5.2.0 version on Monday.
Sent from my SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
Ok, so you can look forward to monday. Because this rom is nearly perfect. Just some issues with touchwiz indicator and the lack of multiwindow/ pagebuddy (samsung features that probably won't ever get into aosp/aokp unfortunatly =() - But for me, the best android 4.2.1 rom around.
Hello how do I put the list of activities on the lock screen?
thanks
Hey guys I really want a clean aosp version of honeycomb but all I can find it jellybean and ICS I know I know jelly bean is better but I love the look of honey comb I'm running cm 10.2 unofficial build
Any help would be great thanks guys
There's no AOSP ROM for HC since HC is closed sourced, unlike other version, which is open sourced. That would explain why there is cm 7 for gingerbread and cm 9 for ICS but no cm 8 for HC.

Hello there,
Can a custom ROM with Google's ICS or Jellybean version be available?
Though there are lot of mods available, though trying each of them didn't give me the complete feeling of Google version of my phone.
I like Touchwiz but the AOSP version is what I love the most.

Ok. I found that cm 11 is available for it but it is preety unstable as they said.
Also it is the KitKat version. I am thinking to have the older i.e. jb or ics versions cos of their simplicity in UI.
