[Q] Noob Question Plz Answer

Hi ,
I have a galaxy sII i9100g And i Flashed a kernel i went into cwm and Backed up the stock rom So if i flash a rom can i restore the stock rom's Backup ik i can do it with custom roms i dont know if i can with Custom ROms so yeah Please Andser
you can backup/restore both stock/ custom roms, the default will restore the whole backup replcaing the existing one, you can make advanced restore to restore specific backup.
well i restore many times if iam not happy wiv the custum rom so yes u can restore back but hav a proper backup and don wipe the whole phone as the backup goes off sometimes.

Yea you can restore your stock rom any time with Cwm recovery. As long as you have cwm recovery in your new custom rom you can acess your backups. So be sure you flash cwm recovery on your custom rom btw most of rom's come with cwm so you don't have to worry if not you can flash cwm recovery from odin too. Just search on google about cwm touch
Hope it helped you.
Thanks me i my words are helpfull.
Thanks You All cuz im not happy with this rom i wanted to go back..thanks again

As far as my expereriance, after restoring a ROM form your backup it is always a good idea to wipe Cache and dalvik cache befor rebooting. (not the factory reset..that will wipe your applications this you do before restoring only)
how will you restore to stock via CWM if CWM is via a rooted kernel .
It will be a non stock kernel .

I think here everybody meant by "Stock" is the first ROM which was there in the phone..no matter its rooted with a custom kernel.....

But its not original and voids warranty if restored was my point .
Far easier to grab a download of the original rom .
OP did say stock rom and not custom rom so the answer is as always not via CWM its no longer a stock rom once rooted .

You don't need ROM manager. Stay away from it.
- Reboot to CWM recovery
- wipe cach data /factory reset
- wipe dalvik cache
- format /system (under mount and storage)
- flash CM9
- flash gapps
- reboot phone

The latest CM10 is stable already, but I'll advise you to use CM9 for sometime before trying CM10. I personally, have been running jellybean since over 1 month already.

there are two ways:
1. Backup ROM via CWM recovery
- boot to CWM recovery
- Backup and restore
- Backup ROM to internal or external SD
2. Backup ROM via CWM manager (easier method)
CWM manager app is already bundled with Siyah kernel
- Open your app drawer
- run CWM manager, Grant it superuser permission
- Backup ROM, select your desired storage
-input the backup name of your choice.
The phone will reboot, and the backup will be done

K den finally from where do I Download CM9.
Official page or xda forums?
WTF !
I entered Recovery mode(volume up+power+home).
There is no option like Backup nor advaned settings.I tried navigating using volume keys.

[Q] Can anybody help me ! ?

hey guys.. am still new to the world of ANDROID.. so i need some help please..
i wanted to update my GB Samsung Galaxy SII rom to the ICS rom.. so i wanted to start by rooting..
i rooted my phone and everything went okay and i also removed the Yellow Triangle..
my problem is.. now i want to flash a new rom to my S2..
i booted into recovery mode..
1st problem is that i didn't find a "Backup & Recovery" option as i saw in many videos..
the main problem is that i wiped the cash and the user data
but when i clicked on apply * from sdcard !!
and choosed the rom i've downloaded.. it didn't work.. i had an error saying that E: Signature Verification Failed
so.. and when i wanted to do a recovery using the CWM app.. i didn't find the backup and recovery option
if you have acsess to download mode, then reroot your phone, then you will gain acsess again to recovery & backup.

Sorry, I didn't express myself correctly. I meant you can reflash a stock unrooted firmware (kernel, rom) and then root it again.
okay guys.. am so sorry for the mistake i've made.. my probles was that i was going to the reboot mode using the cwm.. not the up-home-power buttons..
i told you am still new .. i thought they are the same .. anyway...
i recovered the rom with all the apps and everything is okay now.. but
the question is why i can't flash that rom ?? .. even with the right recovery mod it's still doesn't want to be flashed. ??
could it be because of the version of the rom ! ??
and is there a way to know what rom can i flash ??
and i also have a problem.. it's that the samsung kies isn't supporting my device.. i used it once and after rooting my cell it doesnt want to work again.. ??

First off you don't need to be rooted to up grade your firmware. The best source for firmwares is Samfirmware.com where you download a tar. file then flash it in the PDA section of odin. Please read the sticky threads in this forum as there is loads of good advice and guides from expert users. All the best.

Thank you all guys.. i flashed the ICS 4.0.4 firmware to my Galaxy S2 I9100.. and everything is okay..
now i am wondering how to root it ?
is it the same way for the GB?
actually i tried the same way but when i flashed the CF Root --LPH my phone died !! .. i mean it begin restarting every time i turn it on..
my Baseband version is I9100XXLQ6
and the kernal version is I900JPLPH
please send me a link that works..
There are a couple of methods to root. If you only want to root and not bother with custom ROMs, kernels and the like, use Rachmat3's temporary cwm to get root. Search for it.
If you wanna install custom ROMs, you could install a the TAR version of a custom kernel like siyah or dorimanx via Odin. Steps on how to do so can again be found with a simple search.

This should do,
1) Backup everything
2) Install Siyah Kernel (latest: http://www.gokhanmoral.com/?p=1536) using Odin (tar file)
3) Now you are rooted with Siyah Kernel and a CWM based recovery
4) You can then install any ROM/Kernel of your choice (if you need)
But "Search" - There are countless threads
thanks alooott
i really dunno how to thank you guys.. everything is working now as i want it to be.. thank you all guys ..
if i need some more advanced help who should i ask.. things more like programming
because,
i am 3rd year student and i am studying Communication and Computer Networks engineering.. and i am thinking about doing a programing project..
so if any one can help me.. i'll be so thankful ..
again thank you all guys
Do you have disabled the signature verification in recovery before flashing the rom?? Try this and see...

[Q] CWM Recovery reverts to Stock Recovery after rebooting.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830i. I had no problem with rooting it, and am able to use Superuser and other root apps perfectly, but when i try to flash CWM on it, either from the ROMManager app, or from a zip file, it only displays CWM immediately after i flash it, but then the moment i press Reboot Now,and go back to the Recovery, i notice that it has reverted to the stock recovery. I have tried many different CWM recovery files, but it always works only for that one time, and then reverts to stock after reboot. I am using a stock ROM since i cannot flash Cyanogenmod until i get CWM to 'stick'. What do i do?

My Galaxy Win 3-4 minute intervals automatically restarted and i can not enter CWM Recovery Mod, Is it possible that CWM Recovery to be deleted? Thank you in advance!
To delete CWM , just download and flash the stock rom through odin . If your device is rooted , it will become unrooted if you will flash stock rom .
Don't forget to press thanks If I helped you in anyway .
Is it showing a blue screen before switching off..?
And secondly have you been messing with the internal memory for a long period of time.?
