My samsung i5500 wont boot normally so I want to try booting it into recovery and reseting it. Ive tried power, centre key and volume down. which I thought was the recovery combination but it just comes up with an icon saying downloading and does nothing.
If anyone else knows a recovery combination or another way to fix it please comment
according to a post here...

It's the volume down, then center key, then power. Make sure your not letting go after pressing them in that order... Order is important if you were doing power, center then volume down it will not work in that order.
I'm also trying to get into recovery mode to clear the dalvik cache and I'm stuck on the same downloading screen. I connected the usb cable, waited 5 minutes, started kies, waited 5 more minutes. What needs to be done on the downloading screen?
me to any help here

You will need fastboot and recovery.img to boot into recovery in order to perform a factory reset.

There is no key combination for this device.
In order to get to Recovery you need to boot Android, enable USB Debug Mode. Then connect to PC via USB cable, open ADB and type "adb reboot recovery"
If you cant boot into Android you'll need to flash recovery with Odin and it'll boot into Recovery after flashing.
also if using CM7 you can choose to boot into recovery when restarting phone.
If there is a way to boot to Recovery from download mode please someone explain how.

On my GT-I5500M, after installing CWM via Odin, from powered-off state, I can press and hold Volume Down, Start Call, End Call (3 buttons simultaneously), hold 'em past the Samsung boot screen, and you eventually get into Recovery mode without going into Download mode. YMMV but it works for me.

Hi,
I have the same problem as the author of the topic, my galaxy GT-I5500 doesn't turn on, it's on an unlimited boot loop, i can enter on Downloading mode, but if i connect the phone to the computer, the computer doesn't recognize the phone (probably because of lack of driver's), so, i can't access ADB or Odin, or do anything, could you please help me ?
best regards!
falta
I tried to Unroot my Galaxy Tab 10.1 LTE last night and think I may have bricked my tablet. I used the instructions here on the XDA forum which had a link to all the Stock ROM's in one place. I got the most recent one and the only one for USA but it said it was for the model 7510. I didn't think that would be a problem since the USB drivers I installed on my PC were also labeled as being for the 7510 and they worked.
This tablet is the SCH-I905. Now I can't get it to boot at all. Gets stuck in a boot loop. Shows the Samsung logo, then resets and does it again. I can't get it in recovery mode either. Goes to a black screen and hangs.
Using the normal process to get to Download mode doesn't work. Holding Power and Volume Up, then letting go of the Power button, then pressing Volume Down and then Up. That's one weird thing. I can get to the option screen that shows the Download and Recovery mode options. Normally I would hit the Volume Down button to select Download mode and on the screen it says to press Volume Up to continue or Volume Down to cancel. If I press Volume Up it goes to a black screen and hangs. If I press Volume Down I get the Odin Download screen that says Waiting on USB cable.
That screen doesn't look the same as what I normally see but I'm not sure what's different. I didn't memorize each line of text. I just know there's not as much text there as there usually is. My PC will not recognize the tablet no matter which USB port I try to use and the tablet doesn't recognize that the USB cable is plugged in. I had no problem with the USB connection before I flashed the 7510 stock ROM.
So, if I cannot get to recovery mode and I can't get Download mode to work so I can use Odin to flash a different rom then is this thing bricked or is there something else I can try? I am about to try using my laptop and its USB ports but I don't think that's going to make any difference.
BTW, I have since found the correct 'stock recovery rom' at droidbasement.com and downloaded it to my PC. I just need to get on the tablet somehow.
Many people have your problem. I have my Lte verizon bricked as yours. The problem is demaged bootloader, only nvflash can fix it but actually our bootloader is locked and we need a hex key called sbk. At least we have to wait that somebody hack our tab from the basement. For now we can only search and share result.

Hello everyone! Here is my problem.
The home button of my gs2 is broken. I knew that some rom have the function that rebooting into recovery mode when power on.
But somehow, I need to boot into recovery mode when power off.
In addition, I've got a item which can help me get into odin mode when power off. The item in Chinese we call it "Wa mei shen qi"~
I would like to know is it able for me to boot into recovery mode with this? Or any other possible way for gs2 from power off state.
Thanks!

The "Item" you are talking about could be a USB Jig? As you already said: it will take you into download mode but not recovery mode.

Can you tell us why?
For a running device with USB debugging enabled you could run adb reboot recovery to boot into recovery mode. However this is for a running device, not for a device that is powered off.
I don't either fully understand what you're meaning by this.
But as far as i know the only way to access CWM when power off is Power+Home+VolUp, but then ofcourse i'm not a pro at this...yet there could be another way to access Recovery while power off which i haven't found out about.
I don't understand also why you must access Recovery while power off, in your situation (with the home butten broken) it would be easier to get ROM Manager. It has an option to reboot into Recovery mode. Or if you rooted with CF-Kernel, it come with a CWM app that let's you choose if you want to reboot normally, reboot into download mode or reboot into Recovery mode.
and if i may ask, what do you mean by Odin mode? Is it download mode?

Thanks for your informations.
The reason is that I flash a rom in Odin mode, but after that I can't get powered on, it always remains in the starting animation.
I've been in this situation many times, for every time, a wipe data / factory reset in recovery mode will fix the problem. However the problem arises, for this time, my home button is broken.
And I've tried a lot of other roms from Odin mode, it still remains in the starting animation. So I really need a wipe in recovery mode badly.
The "item" may be the same with USB jig from your description.

Yes, for Odin mode, I mean the download mode.
The reason that I need to boot into recovery mode is given in #4. And thanks for your information , but I really need to boot into recovery mode to do a wipe data / factory reset to save my gs2.
boot into recovery/download mode
..so u have a bootloop & ur home-btn is broken..
am i right?
the jig would bring you to dowload mode
install via odin ur rom with repartition..
u will need a 3-parted rom
that should solve your problem..cause i think theres no way to come into the recovery mode if u have a bootloop
[email protected] said:
u can use an app to boot into recovery/download mode
just look at the marketplace which you prefer
- i use stweaks from sieya kernel
the jig would reset the counter and bring you to dowload mode

He can't boot, so that is no option for him unfortunately.
I believe adb can be used when the animation starts, haven't checked it. If so, simply do adb reboot recovery.

Yes, adb can be used during boot, but only if USB debugging was enabled before.

Umm~This may work if adb.exe can get connected with my phone in booting animation. I'll try it later.
You must press on button for a few seconds then click on reboot then take recovery.

you can also use an app called [ Anreboot.apk ] but you must have a root permission ok

I've tried this with adb tool in andriod development SDK.
However during the booting animation, even if Windows Device Manager detect Android ADB Interface, "adb devices" shows no adb connections.
Maybe the only way for me is finding a rom with auto wipe after flashing it by ODIN.
The only way you can get this fixed is get your phone-home button fixed in a samsung repair center ma8..
There's no other way you can go to recovery mode without the home button use...you can use th usb jig only to go into download mode!. Hope this helps.

He is simply not able to boot the device so how do you expect him to go into recovery with a broken home button?
So,
I was updating my SIII to Omega 44.2 from omega 44. I did a full wipe and it just hung there doing nothing........so I pulled the battery (I know, right :silly. Anyway I am now stuck on boot loop, I can't get into recovery as my Vol+ doesn't work. I can get into download mode, but can't continue due to not being able to use the Vol+.
If anyone knows a way around this, although I know it is highly unlikely.
Thank you in advance for the ear bashing I am about to recieve.:good:
You should open your phone and try to fix the volume button but you can also acces the download mode via adb reboot download and recovery mode via adb reboot recovery (this one is propably kinda useless since you dont have touch recovery) when you reach the download mode you can just flash stock firmware via odin
btw hit the thanks button if i helped you
AW: [Q] Bricked s3
To me it sounds like a case for service center repair. I'm not used to Usb jigs, but I assume they still need you to press the vol+ button to continue to download mode...

Great so heres guide to reach the recovery mode without hard buttons
1.Download adb and install adb drivers for your phone
2.Extract the files to your c directory in a folder named adb(creat one)
3.Once the files are located in c:\adb go to start menu then search for cmd
4.type in cd c:\adb then click enter
5.type in adb devices it will show the connected devices it should be bunch of numbers
6.if you cant see them it means adb drivers for your device are not installed correctly
7.Now you can reboot to the recovery mode (adb reboot recovery) or download mode (adb reboot download)
you can also use usb jig

remember to hit the thanks button if i deserve it
I've been trying to install TWRP on my phone (SM-A105F)
I've done rooting it
I flashed it through the TWRP app in the play store.
I tried to backup my recovery in case of emergency
As I tried to flash it which is successful, I power off my device to go to my recovery mode which I assume is now TWRP
To my surprise, this leads me to boot looping my phone. I tried to disconnect my battery hoping it can end the loop but it doesn't.
I was hoping to flash my backup recovery but I can't access the download mode.
What am I supposed to do
Edit: Nobody is answering so I decided to embark on my journey on my own. And in doing so I was able to learn the ways to unblock my device.
The goal is to go to download mode of your phone as soon as possible.
It's easy, just press volume up and power off while an USB is plugged in your computer. This will lead you to download mode of SM-A105F. (Works even if bootlooping)
After that, download your device's firmware (AP,CSC etc).
Once you download, flash them all in ODIN. AP= AP , BL=BL and so on.(I guess you have the brain to figure this out, unlucky for me I didn't figure this right away)
Just wait and boom! New device, new firmware.
ALTERNATE:
If your ODIN isn't working, just restart your phone to download mode and try again.
I'm having a similar issue on an A10s, bootloop and can't enter download mode. the PC isn't even staying connected to the phone. it's like a 1 second connect then disconnects in an infinite loop.
Make Battery no charge.
Press : Vol_UP + Vol_Down and connect phone to PC by cabel.
Hold buttons until the phone displays The Download MODE.
