Hello all! I was wondering if anyone had any clue where batteries compatible with this device are available? My device got wet and won't turn on, out of curiosity I swapped out the battery inside with a friend's and it booted right up!
I already tried Samsung's customer service and because it's not covered by warranty it'll cost me $40 plus the cost of the replacement battery ($51) Also the battery is on back order.
I really don't want to pay half the cost of a new player just to mine working again.
Thank you for your time.

Hmm... since these batteries are not supposed to be user serviceable, I am not sure what other choice you would have. Maybe ask around here and see if anyone has a busted player for cleap.
Good luck.

Hey guys so I got my phone today brand new and when I hold it at an angle it looks like there are about 8 spots on the screen that are nothing but white regardless of the background. Idk too much about screens but I'm sure its NOT supposed to be like this. I didn't get a warranty for the phone yet, but I was wondering if there was any suggestions for what I should do. I haven't even had this phone for a day yet

well depends on were you bought the phone...
if at Verizon, bring it back to Verizon.
even if you bought the phone from Verizon online, phone, store, etc. you are covered by Verizon.
If you bought it outside Verizon, then you need to check if there's a return on that like ebay, some buyers will give like a 3 day return or something like that, if that's the case make sure you get a new one.
Either way wherever you bought the phone you need to talk to them..
This phone hasn't popped up with many problems (yet) .
The Rezound would heat up on me and many other things, but the inc4 is very solid IMO
hope you get yourself a fresh one
Thanks boss I'll check with best buy tomorrow they have a 30 day return policy
If you got it at Best Buy they should give you no trouble.
Sent from my ADR6410LVW using xda app-developers app
Agreed, BestBuy should be no troubles. hope you get it solved
Got my new one today thanks for the help guys.

hi i have atrix like over a year, and last week i had some little bugs with the touchscreen. there is some places in the touch screeen that dont respond so good and i heard there is a patch that fix that bug or there some trick. i looked in google and i didnt found them
i have recently changed my rom to epinter ics 10 and the rom work great and even i got some little improvment on the touch screen but it still work Every now and then bad so if you can link me a guide or something i will be glad
This sounds to me like a digitizer issue. I have an atrix, but only use it as a spare issue, however ive had several phones with similar issues and they were all resolved by replacing the digitizer.

I agree with cloudraker. I've had 3 atrix phones, and the digitizers are a weak spot. I would check and see if you are still under warranty. Motorola is very good about this and replaces the phone usually. I had one that was not in warranty, and they replaced that as well. Good luck.
Careful though. Motorola is indeed usually generous about this, but there's a price to pay - you will more than likely end up with a non-unlockable bootloader.

That is a possibility, however I sent in two, and got back two that i was able to unlock. Don't know what the chances are, but that is my experience.

I haven't done the digitizer, but I have done a number of other parts. The atrix is a very easy phone to tear down. I'm sure there is a YouTube video for digitizer replacement. That would certainly be the cheaper way to go......

Do the screens become laggy, and should i just stick it out with my bb 9900 for the time being (im a student) and wait for the s4 to get lower and just pick one up
I picked up my s3 in march for 325$

Weird that you weren't allowed to post on the Q&A section cause you're already a senior member. But anyway since you got it on March then isn't it covered by warranty? Replacement screens on the internet are sometimes bogus unless your really know how to criticized the item being sold. I suggest that you bring it to Samsung for repair.

How much do you think the repairs at the Samsung centers are? I got. My. Phone off someone on kijiji and he got it from Hong Kong for dirt cheap and then I found out the pho was from France pretty sure from Orange. I'm not really the type of person that wants armatures to replace my screen... But the phone is like 300$ now and I do love my phone because no one else I know has the Grey one and I can't sell it on eBay because I have personal things in it, or should I just keep it as a decoration and buy a s4 when it's lower....
I don't know what to do... Is it really worth 200$ to fix a phone that I can get for 300$ but I wonder if they'd fix everything else because I've been having signal problems

Better go and ask them about it as I haven't really encountered bringing in a phone for repair. And if you ask me if it's really worth it to repair a phone for almost half the price when you bought it... well... I think i'll pass and just get a new one because you'll encounter more issues afterwards. Of course it's a different issue when you send it Samsung for warranty issues.

If you take it to a Samsung supported repair shop they will know its under warranty by the imei and serial number. You wont even need to have the reciept if you got it from someone else.Same happened to me once.If you want to replace the screen yourself then buy one on ebay for 140 bucks and do it yourself with a video tutorial from youtube. Its not that hard mate.
Ive changed a few screens for friends with ones from ebay and they are perfectly good and dont have any problems at all.Run perfectly and you save heaps too.

If its under waranty it should be free.Otherwise get a screen from ebay for 140 and fix it yourself and then try and sell the phone for 250.
250 + the 60 you saved will be 310 to go to an S4 at least mate.Id see if its covered first and then you will have a working phone to sell + 200 bucks.

Yeah mate all warranty coverage is free if its something like a hardware issue. If you drop it and they can tell then its up to them but if you dont have any marks on the side that makes it look like it has been dropped then just say that it wont start for some reason.
The bad thing is if it has been rooted and flashed and you havent reset the binary counter. Then if they see that they will most likely send you a letter asking you to pay cos that will mean you have lost the warranty.

Yeah mate if they know its the screen from an accident then they wont fix it.If you want to purposely brick your phone and say it has SDS (sudden desth syndrome) thats up to you but you may want to just fix it yourself if you cant find a non-samsung store that will do it for cheap..meaning screen + labour maybe 200 bucks.
Better to start looking at youtube videos.
Hi all,
I need to replace the motherboard from my device. I am wondering if it is plug-and-play or if it is needed some flashing.
In other words do I simply remove the dead one and connect the new one (used) or do I need to flash anything. Of course I suppose my IMEI is lost and I must have a working motherboard and a valid IMEI.
I also assume that I have no chances to recover the data stored in the broken device. The problem was caused by the small backup battery that lost acid and damaged the board and some components
Thank you
I just replaced my s2 motherboard from Samsung service center. It requires to be flashed with latest Sammy rom + they'll write your old IMEI number on your new motherboard. I'd suggest you to let the experts replace your motherboard. It'll cost you about $110 though...
Good luck with your phone!

Wondering if this is a common issue with these.
I got this tablet for my son during the first "Tablet On Us" promotion last year and it's a piece of junk. He's had issues with it basically within a few months of getting it. The biggest one is it reboots and goes into a bootloop once it gets to around 30% battery. I'm assuming the battery % is actually reading way off, hence the battery is dead or about dead even though it reads 30%.
Is there something I can try? Flash a custom rom? Factory reset?
Thanks.

It's clearly a battery problem. I had same issue with my OPO. Just replace your battery
If its still under warranty, change it. I changed two (son and daughter ones) already. and i think my wife's one is starting to do it as well.. always happens at 30%. The device is great except for this damn battery thing.
if you got it thru t-mobile I bet it still under warranty. call them. or call lg.. But i think t-mobile is the better option. They order a new one for you and send it to your local store. you'll go and pay $20 for the exchange fee. If you go thru LG, the warranty should be in effect but you have to send the tablet in.. and wait.. at least with tmobile direction, you get a tablet right away. I rather pay the extra few bucks and get one right away. shipping to LG maybe $8-10?

Sorry, completely missed that you replied. I think I'm going to give that a try. Replacement batteries are $80 on eBay, not worth my normal DIY at that point.
I'll see what T-Mobile says. Glad I'm not the only one with the issue.
Bro today i tried readback utility and its failed.
But it worked with k3note. Also worked for lenovo A7000+ and successfully fetched recovery.img for both devices
Mtk drivers installed properly. But dont know where it went wrong?
I think oppo managed not to respond while power off.
And also i searched that oppo will fully prevented fastboot services since 2016
https://forum.xda-developers.com/r7-plus/help/decision-oppo-bootloader-fastboot-t3348114
So all ptovided resources brought Nill out come for my device.
Started hating my device.
And specially thanking for ur efforts made. And also for the time and patience u invested.
Anyone know of a compatible battery for these? Batteries are $80 on eBay and can't find them "for parts" cheap either. Curious if you can take another similar sized battery and just splices the wires.
just wanted to chime in that I am also suffering from this. Had these issues for the past 6 months and sadly missed the warranty period.
I had to fall back on my 5 year old samsung tablet for my son.
I used to work in wireless and my experience lead me to the phrase, "LG, Lucky if its Good.
I broke from this belief to give them a shot years later only to find nothing has changed with their quality.
