Stock.voice mail icon? Go away! - HTC Rezound

I'm running the global update, rooted.
I use google voice and have been for a few years. All of a sudden the stock vm icon shows up on my status bar. It indicates I have 2 vm's. I check it and I don't. How do I get it to go away? I've rebooted phone, removed battery.

I also use GV for my voicemail, I have had this happen a few times over the last few years, after verifying there are actually no VM's in there, I just clear the notification and all is well. If there are messages in the VZW system, you need to do the *71 again.

Google Voice issues today?

I have been getting an "all circuits are busy" message while trying to access my voicemail *86 today. An incoming call gets the same message when trying to leave a voicemail.
Anyone else have/had this issue? I've only had GV setup for 3 days and its been great so far.
Thanks

Sounds like its not set up properly. *86 is not used for gv, but rather the market app. Also you need to forward your missed calls by dialing *71<your Google voice number>(send)

I was having the same issues last night. People calling me said that they were getting "all circuits busy" and "number not in service" while trying to leave me voicemail. I haven't changed my GV setup since I set it up months ago.
I haven't had any calls today yet, so I don't know if it's fixed or not.
Update: Just had a call go to voicemail and it worked just fine. There was a GV update yesterday in the market; I wonder if Google was having trouble with that...?

New Voicemail Notification won't go away..

In my notification menu bar, the a New Voicemail notification will not disappear. There is no clear option for it. I have tried many roms, the only one that got rid of it was CM7, using the clear function. Can anyone help?

Voicemail notifications come from your carrier, not the phone, so there's nothing you can do on the phone to get rid of it. So basically, there's no need to go flashing your phone to try and get rid, despite the fact that you already have!
You could try ringing your voicemail, make sure the message has been listened to (and deleted if relevant), and then maybe check your voicemail settings. Find the notification settings in the menu and see what options you have.

Mind sharing what you did to fix it? I am having an identical problem, and I am beating my head against a wall
I have tried thus far:
- Called it from a land line and left a new message, then deleted it
- Had my carrier reset my voicemail
- Had my carrier remove voicemail service completely
- Power cycled the phone, and pulled the battery

[Q] New Voice Mail Indicator Not Working

I updated my phone to the 2.10.605.1 ROM and it seems that since I've done it, whenever I receive a new voicemail message, the indicator in the title bar is not appearing so I have to rely on the missed call info to force me to check my voicemail.
Has anyone else seen this and have any ideas on how to resolve. And YES, I've checked my voicemail settings and the indicator is set to on.
Thanks for the help.
Ty.
It's a known issue with the gingerbread leaks.

What they said ^
I setup Google Voice to combat this problem and I am SO glad I did! I love GV so much so that even though I am back on froyo (with working voicemail notifications) I still use it!

looks to be a bug at this time.. I have the issue as well as many others I know. If someone's got a solution that would be great!
call your phone and leave yourself a message and access your voicemail via that notification icon.

I solved it by leaving a voicemail for myself from another phone. After I deleted that voicemail, it went away finally.
The problem I always had was that my phone number automatically forwards to google voicemail.
The solution i found to work is this:
1.use that notification to call t-mobile's voicemail system
2. when it says you do not have a VM, press (2?) to send a message to another user
3.Enter your number as the recepient
4. leave a short message.
5. send it
Now hang up, use the notification to call your VM box again, and you will have one message to delete. this got rid of my notification. happened last time I upgraded to the G2X as well. This is not device specific. it has something to do with google voice.
Well ty that did the trick leaving a message to my self ty to all who responded much appreciated

That worked for me, but then later I got a voice mail from somebody else and checked it. Deleted it but the icon remained. So I had to call myself and leave a message and then it finally cleared. Hopefully it doesn't happen all the time. It's pretty annoying.
Go to settings>application manager then go to phone. Clear data. Icon disappears.
I had the same problem. I called t mobile at 611 and the lady walked me through the process. My problem was tough because I had Google Voice as my voicemail, so that overrides tmobile voicemail. Anyways, she basically erased my google voice voicemail and set up the new voicemail with tmobile. Icon is not there and I got rid of that stupid google voice.

Voicemail icon always showing, no voice mails.

Anyone know how to get the icon & new voicemail notification to disappear? I've already tried force stopping voicemail and clearing data/cache. Its been showing for 3 days now. Still on MDK w/root & TWRP. Any ideas would be great. Thanks!
