Howdy,
I restored the NT to 1.4.0, then tried to install CWM via a variety of methods. All resulted in a temporary flash of the white CWM screen, then overlaid by a black screen with a Factory Reset Dialog. I just tried TWRP with the same result. Here is what I did:
1. Removed the SD card.
2. Held down the power and N until the screen turned black
3. Installed the SD card with the NT off.
4. Plugged in the power cord from the wall-wart.
5. White CWM or TWRP screen temporarily appears
6. Cursed Factory Reset dialog appears.
I have searched the forum, tried the different approaches, but still the same result. I rooted the NT once before and had an early version of CM7 installed. I restored to factory after WiFi and root stopped working.
Any suggestions?
Best,
MIke
Resolved - Used Universal Boot Loader and reinstalled.

Today, I decided to use a font that I cannot find at the flipfont directory here at XDA. I downloaded and loaded up to Font Changer. When Font Changer said that changes need to be made via rebooting, I chose to "reboot later". However, it didn't work. So I decided to reboot directly from the app. This is where everything went wrong.
When the device is done booting, the screen is half unresponsive and the screen keeps on blinking. It does not let me choose the launcher that I have and it does not let me use the home keys, as they are not functioning properly. It just keeps on repeating the action of "Media Scanner Running", and keeps on saying that the "status bar" activity is unresponsive.
Luckily, I can plug in it via. USB into mass storage mode to do a backup. Is there anyway to solve this in a simple way that does not require wiping data via. ODIN?
Thanks in advance!
Do you have an SD card installed?
Mine got stuck on a "Scanning media" once and I removed the SD card and rebooted,
and then it booted fine.

The problem is that I don't, as I just used the on board memory. I even resorted to Safe Mode several times, but it just froze when I approached settings menu and continued to do the endless boot-loop.
What ROM are you using? If you are using those with CWM Recovery, you can try rebooting to CWM (Vol up+Home+Power) and wipe your data/factory reset there.
If you don't have CWM Recovery, the best bet is to reflash your device using Odin. Is your device international or US?
Bought 2 16GB Nook tablets last week (one for wife) - used indirects method to boot CWM from SD http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1466583 however got same error as Land Master and a few others where instead of booting CWM the unit booted a factory reset prompt instead. The suggested workaround is to boot while plugged into a computer however this did not work for me. In the end I did get CWM to boot and installed CM7 which is going great on both tablets (I'm in the UK so could not register or use the stock OS).
The workaround for me was, from a failed CWM boot that has gone through a factory reset screen (which is declined) to boot the stock OS,
1 eject SD properly, plug into Mains and reboot then turn off normally (i.e the nook has now been turned off from stock OS without booting from the CWM SD first)
2 re make the SD ( it seems booting into the stock OS with it inserted changed it in some way, no idea how)
3 turn on nook holding n and power button until nook turns - this is standard step
4 insert SD and turn on while still plugged into Mains (nook should have been plugged into Mains from step one)
This worked on both nooks, 1.4.1 out of box with oobe skipped, I swapped the SD after CWM booted for one with CM7, updated from this, wiped data rebooted and have not looked back since.
I attempted to root a denver tac-70061 tablet in order to be able to switch the mounting of the internal and the external sdcards. I have only rooted once before; a denver tac-70031 tablet which was extremely easy to root by simply installing and running the superuser app. Unfortunately, it seemed that it was not as simple on the 70061.
As I am a novice, I followed the instructions blindly and read them through a number of times before attempting.
I followed a set of instructions which described downloading a zip file which contained adb for windows and some img and zip files to transfer to the sdcard.
I am using ubuntu, so I assumed that the adb which was installed along with android sdk would suffice.
I copied the required files to the root of the tablet's internal sd card and installed recovery via adb.
I unplugged the tablet and rebooted in recovery holding down volume-up while powering on.
When in recovery, the instructions told me to install superuser 3.1.3.zip from the sdcard but this file was not present.
When selecting 'reboot', the tablet kept rebooting to recovery and now seems to be stuck in a loop.
I hope that someone can help.
Factory Default reset?
How do you even get into the recovery menu. W/o I try, I get to the screen with the stupid robot laying down, and a ! inside a triangle showing. What buttons do you press to open recovery menu? On that page, no lists of stuff appear, and I want to reset the android tablet I used, also a TAC-70061, b/c it just keeps loading on the 3rd boot screen, and never gets passed it. Lame Denver product is not worth 2 cents. Apart from how annoyed I am, can you explain to me how to get into the factory reset and reset it/fix it?
My device details: SGS3 T999, rooted, running Jellybean 4.3 on a liquid smooth ROM. Its a year old and has been a solid performer up until now.
My device is stuck in a cycle where it gives a quick vibrate, then SGS3 splash screen with white letters, then black screen, then tiny blue "Recovery booting..." words in upper left of screen, then black screen with couple vibrations, and around and around it goes in the same repeating cycle.
Just before it started I had taken the following actions: Dumped the following 2 files onto my EXTSD card (cm-11-20131217-NIGHTLY-d2tmo.zip, gapps-kk-20131119.zip) from my PC, booted phone into recovery mode using TWRP, did a factory reset wipe (success), cache wipe (success), dalvik cache wipe (success), flashed the NIGHTLY file (failed), flashed the gapps file (failed). At this point I should have sought some support. Fool! I next did a reboot step still in recovery mode. Without the reboot happening a message came up stating Superuser permission had been broken (the best I can remember) and the option to have TWRP repair the permission. I opted "yes" to repair. Then the loop started that I can't escape.
I have pulled the battery multiple times, tried a regular boot up, tried a recovery boot up (up volume+power+home) dropping the home button after a few seconds. Nothing is working. Prior to the above steps I backed up everything on the device. So I have backups to use if it can be done. My best guess is that I failed to update my CyanogenMod or TWRP to the very latest versions and it caused this hang up. Otherwise, I don't know what to do and need any help I can get.
Has anyone had this issue or heard of anyone who has and have any helpful suggestions, tips, ideas, etc..?
Thank you in advance. This is my first XDA post. Please forgive and offer tips if this thread needs any scrubbing.
I've had a few similar events for a few different reasons.
I would suggest booting into recovery but it seems you have tried that already.
If the device is plugged into a wall or pc, unplugg it, that has seemed to cause and fix boot issues for me before.
Other than that, I dunno, if you can't get to recovery or fastboot, I dunno...
Hello. I'll start with that I am NOT phone geek and this is the first time I'm doing any of this stuff.
I own a XT910, but I heard that you can get it use 4.4. So I followed some guides (and failed I suppose) and firstly rooted phone using EternityProject EasyRootICS v1.5 and then http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1751826 for recovery backup.
I downloaded http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=spyder (cm-11-20140718-NIGHTLY-umts_spyder) and tried to install it using clockworkmod (Install ROM from SD Card) at first it displayed that it cannot open the folder, I tried again and I think it did it, but now all I can see is black screen on my phone. I did the recovery again, holding vol keys and power, and it did flicker then I clicked them again went to recovery and did factory reset, but it still doesn't work. All I can see is black screen.
Any ideas how to fix it?
Sorry for trouble.

Fixed by installing 4.1.2 Fastboot.
