[Q] How to flash back to Stock Recovery after using TWRP? - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

Hey guys, I know I'm probably in the wrong section, but I couldn't find the answer anywhere else. I flashed back to stock ROM so that I can accept the latest OTA (Since 4G LTE is now in my area and I want to update the radio) but when I go to install the OTA, it brings me to TWRP instead of the Stock Android Recovery. Could someone please point me in the right direction as to how to revert back to the Stock Recovery so that I can proceed with installing this OTA?
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!
Thank you!!

It most definitely is, I just need to flash the stock recovery.
Edit: Can I do this without running RUU?

Hey there. 1st time poster. Searched multiple threads. I'm assuming we are waiting on a rooted version of the new software update?
Unless someone can tell me otherwise.
I'm rooted on stock w/ TWRP. S-ON.
How would I go about installing new HTC software update?
Any advice of help would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

We're not waiting on a rooted version. It already exists (in one of the Development sections). Just flash it! Do not update by any other means!

Returning to Stock Telus

Hows it going everyone,
I've been gone for a while, and decided I'd like to try going complete stock Telus again. Could someone explain the process of doing so? I've done some digging around and have found a couple links that could help such as:
[Collection] HTC Ruby/Amaze 4G Stock ROMs (RUUs & OTAs): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=25761360
[Updated 7-12]✚ The Ultimate Guide to Everything Amaze-ing! Help us update the wiki!✚: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1679486
Telus Amaze Kernel 3.0 Source Code: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1762487
From what I've looked up, I believe I need the RUU and OTA from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=25761360
Is it as simply as flashing the OTA/RUU and locking the bootloader again? I'm sure this question has been asked many times before, and sorry, I'm a complete noob .
Thanks in advance.
Huh, also found this by Dark Nightmare: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=27058110&postcount=44
Is it really that simple as just downloading the Flashable ZIP, then putting stock recovery using Hansoons tool kit?
Where can I find the stock recovery? Currently have 4EXT.

I have the stock recovery linked at the bottom of that post, flash the telus flashable zip to return to stock, then the stock recovery is attached at the bottom if you wanna return that to stock as well.

Awesome thanks! Than once thats done, re-lock the bootloader? And RUU is the recovery? This is the link, right? http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/HTC_Amaze_4G/ROMs#Stock_ROMs
^^ Ignore that. I can't read. Thanks for the information! Greatly appreciate it.

We have no stock RUU for telus ICS, so flashable zip is our only method at the moment.

Yes, I know that, but I'm on HBoot 1.15, no S-Off, and who knows when that's coming.
Did you figure out what to do next? I've never had to mess with any of the unroot procedures, hopefully I won't have to anytime soon. (knock on wood)

I am at work right now, I am going to do it when I get home. My only other question is, can I do this without installing the latest RUU? Can I just flash the new recovery through USB Fastboot?
I have no idea, maybe someone else will join in here that can answer that.

The only way for you to get the latest firmware is to either run the RUU, or accept the OTA (which you would have to jump through some hoops to get the OTA to install correctly). You cannot flash a firmware zip through fastboot unless your are S-OFF, which you do not have. Just re-lock your bootloader, run the RUU, unlock your bootloader, then flash which ever custom ROM you want.
On a side note, please pm a mod and have them move your thread to a more appropriate place.

[Q] Best course of action regarding the OTA on an unlocked, rooted, S-OFF device?

Hey guys,
So as the thread title states, I have a rooted DNA with an unlocked bootloader and now S-OFF. I'm wholly new to this whole "forcing" of an OTA upon me (by Verizon?)...so I don't know what the best course of action is. I've already flashed the radio from the OTA and I'm just waiting for an attractive custom ROM to come out before flashing one. In the meantime, what should I do? I saw this thread:
(Mod)[2.15.13] Stop/Remove Verizon OTA V2 2.04.605.2 710RD (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2149417)
Idk...I'll do it if I have to...it just seems a bit drastic in what it removes. Is there a safe way to update my firmware/kernel to that of the OTA while keeping my unlocked bootloader/root/s-off? I'm used to Nexus devices so this is all very strange to me...any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

According to jcase beaups and Dr_drache and zifnab its OK to take the ota with s-off
And then I'm telling you to do it at your own risk
The OTA from what I've seen (and experienced) does not lock the bootloader and also shouldn't affect the s-off according to those guys

Yes, but I think you must be on stock rom and stock recovery. I'm on stock rom but not stock recovery. Can anyone confirm if the steps would be (for someone on stock rom, TWRP, rooted, unlocked, S-OFF):
1. Flash stock recovery
2. Update OTA
3. Flash back TWRP
Or do we need to unlock again between steps 2 and 3 or take any other steps? Or is there a flashable OTA zipped up that will update everything? I don't mind waiting by the way. Not in a huge hurry... Thanks in advance, you guys are awesome.

should work with stock recovery (you might need the stock kernel too not sure)
If you flash the whole OTA package you'll also need /system to be mostly stock, along with stock recovery and kernel.
Or, you could try what I did and download the OTA from the dev section, remove /system, /boot (kernel), and /recovery updates from it and flash the new zip from RUU mode (fastboot oem rebootRUU). However, this is somewhat involved and not user friendly. Also, if you do this, when you flash it it usually says to "flush the update again", in which case you simply run the fastboot flash zip [file] again (it *might* result in a brick if not done correctly).
Better yet, chances are a dev will put together a firmware package which can be easily flashed with a guide on how to do it. If you aren't confident about flashing the firmware, its best to wait for something like this.
Hm...okay...if I just wait until the day I "deferred" the OTA until, will I be able to defer again (and again, and again, etc)? If so, I can just keep doing that until there's a safe way to flash either the update itself or a custom ROM that interests me.
I just want to add that this whole situation is absurd.

Go to the droid original dev thread and get the notification remover that justin (nitsuj) posted. Dl and flash it via recovery and you won't have to worry about deferring anymore.

Return to stock?

Is it possible to return a phone back to stock once s-off and unlocked bootloader have been achieved? I am rooted and am thinking about returning the phone but am afraid they will know this has been done.

I would like to know this as well. Hopefully someone can help. I would like to fully restore to stock. Is there a att ruu or does someone have the stock firmware?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
There is no ruu or strock "firmware" for the at&t build yet...there are nand back ups that can be flashed via twrp/cwm,stock recovery is available and reset bootloader is about as close as your gonna get.
