OK, so after having to hard reset and flash my Odex UVJL4 Rom again. since OCLF is now gone. I want to try the Voodoo Lag Fix instead. been reading it uses EXT4 instead of EXT2. which seems better! OK, so any flashable Voodoo Lag Fix that will work with my Rom without any issues? Would like to use Rom Manager if possible! I found stock+Voodoo-Froyo-T959-UVJL4-unsigned-update file in one of the other post but is that one for my Rom? says something about not for e2 or e3 recovery.
just making sure! Thanks a million!
This one is the one I'm talking about! will this work with my Rom! Thanks!

Yes flash thru rom manager. After you flash it will take several minutes to convert to ext4. A robotic female voice will keep you updated. Don’t do anything to your phone during this time.

Any issues with the voodoo lag fix?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
None at all. Its not as scary as you would think. Its really easy to disable with supercurios kernel.

Ok so sorry about asking so many questions. So where do I start? Already got Rom Manager installed. What do I do now? I'm using just odex uvjl4 rooted stock Rom. Downloaded the voodoo uvjl4 flashable Rom. What do i do with the Rom now? Thanks a million!

Its cool. I just hope I can help out. Put the kernel on your internal sd card and flash thru rom manager. That's it. It will take some time to convert to ext4 so be patient.
Powered by Axura with a dash of Voodoo
You don't have to do anything with your rom. Your only replacing your kernel.

Ok I heard the ladies voice. But how do I know if the voodoo lag fix is installed? And how do I turn it off if I want too. Thanks
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
If you heard the voice then it installed. You can always run a quadrant score to make sure. If its around 1400+ then its installed. Around 1000 and its not. To disable go to recovery by 3 button combo. Volume rockers plus power. That will take you to a red clockwork menu. You will see voodoo as an option go into it to disable or to re-apply.

Don't use rom manager to get to recovery. It wont take you to the red recovery.

Coolio! So it converted the file system to ext.4 same as the nexus s uses? Awesome!
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Yes it do. I've flashed boot animations and black froyo without disabling voodoo and haven't had any issues. But make sure you disable when necessary.

Hello,
So, I've rooted my Optimus One, and I want to Overclock but all I can seem to overclock to at the moment is 600MHz - I want to be able to overclock further but I want to keep the standard ROM, any guide on how to do this because I've searched but all I can see is that 3rd party ROM's enable this.
Cheers!
Andrew
There is a separate thread for an standalone Oct kernel. Look for it in o1 dev threads. But you will have to instal custom recovery also.

PS sorry for the english
Go to CWM thread : here
You must root your device, and install busybox on your 2.1 Stock firmware.
thanks for the reply
I use a cm and i don't know if it incorporate cwm. How i can found it? What appened if i install in a cm that don't incorporate it?
If you have the latest cm then it has cwm included, best way to check is reboot to recovery, if recovery text is blue its xrecovery, if its orange then you already have cwm

Hi just seeing if it is possible to install Ubuntu using the Omega ROM or if anyone has tried it as the stock ROM gives a ' loop device '. So basically anyone know if the Omega ROM is loop-Device enabled please.
Many thanks.

I installed Backtrack (based on Ubuntu) on my Omega V3 rom a few hours ago. No problems at all. I could even hook up my mouse and my keyboard via OTG and use them inside Backtrack.

Used it for ~30 minutes. It can't compete with my dedicated server but it's definitely usable and stable.

Do you know if i can only install an custom kernel which will work with ubuntu for the SGS 3 (loop device)? instead of installing the omega rom?
Doesn't the stock kernel support it? Well, you should be able to flash a kernel with loop support to make it work.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
Yeah but which kernel? And will i lose data if I do?
Have you tried running Ubuntu with the stock kernel? Only if it did NOT work, use another kernel. You won't loose your data by doing so. Just look up in the development forum which Kernel Omega uses (I think it was IntraTech's Insecure Kernel), find a download link for your version (e.g. ALE8, 9, D, F) and flash it.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
No with the stock kernel it does not work.... sadly
i tried ubuntu 12 with omega v4 but loop devices still not enabled. any suggestions?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
I did the same here, i now have root and omega v4.
With orginal script a error that says unable to create loop device.
With latest script it says:
"ubuntu.sh[23]: cut: not found
Error: This script requires root! Type: su
1|[email protected]:/sdcard/ubuntu # su
[email protected]:/mnt/sdcard/ubuntu # sh ubuntu.sh
ubuntu.sh[23]: cut: not found
Error: This script requires root! Type: su
1|[email protected]:/mnt/sdcard/ubuntu #"
I am really getting agritated....
What the hell am i doing wrong?
Only thing i can think of is that member68 got it working with omega 3 because maybe omega 3 has a kernel with loop and omega 4 does not, anyone?
Really appreciate all help!

So you only installed omega v3.0 and backtrack worked?
Not another kernel or something?
I had Chainfire's insecure kernel installed before I installed Omega V3. After that, I switched to V4 and it's still working.

Well I tried that Viper4android and I installed email erythema like it was supposed to then I go to open up the Viper4android app and it won't open all it does is pops open real quick then closes so I guess that isn't gonna work, does that other thing you mentioned let you mod the volume?
Thanks bro the viper4android didn't work, I couldn't even get the app to open but I went and Uninstaller that and flashed the boeffla kernel and I really like it and the audio tweaks it has is just what I was looking for so thank you for your help, I would have never found this kernel if you didn't mention it, thanks

Viper4android work perfectly on the Samsung I9300, which version did you install, and did you follow through and install the drivers and reboot when requested?
Yes, the Boeffla Kernel does have audio modifications.

Yes I went on xda and they had the zip file with everything in it and I installed and everything like it said but the viper4android app just wouldn't open but I really don't need it now that I installed this kernel, but I did want to ask you what is a safe setting to overclock the i9300 because I'd like it as fast as it can be but don't want to worry about over doing it and breaking it

You can try the Devil2 kernel with Deviltools.
Lots of options.
Including boosting you're volume.

Overclocking varies between phones, some can go up to 1600 others can't. Try raising it in steps and see how it reacts (gets hot, freezes...)
I use 400 min and 1600 max on mine and for me it's fine.

Well from what I've seen the i9300 can be overclocked to 1.8ghz safely so I'm really looking for a kernel that let's me overclock to 1.8ghz and also have sound tools like boeffla or even stweaks.
