Customer service ota update? - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

I have been having problems with sending and receiving text messages. Well to be honest I can't at all. I called cs and they wanted me to accept an update. I am rooted so of course I didn't go through with it and I did not let her know I did not go through with it. I just told her it didn't work. My question is should I unroot and go through with the troubleshooting?

have you try doing the ##72786# and putting your msl then pressing menu and selecting reset and let the hands-free activation finish?

I did the reset but still unable to send or receive text.

did you just root? try this:
Once you reboot, let hands free activation finish. Or go settings-> activate. If it does not complete or something doesn't work, like sms, try making a phone call (not *2 or an 800 number, an actual call. call your mother!) If that does not work, just stay on the line and you should be connected to a Sprint rep that will refresh your phone. then update your profile and prl, in settings -> system updates. (info from the rooting/panda threads)
it sounds like you need a refresh to me. I'm not sure they can force an ota update onto your phone, I think they just re-authorizing your account on the sprint network, but someone else can confirm that before you trust me on it.
if you just did lazy panda s-off, you definitely need to do this now.
good luck man

Call customer service and tell them. They will send a refresh to your device. It takes 2 minutes.

Exactly what he said. You have to call CS to get this fixed.

I can confirm what they said above, call sprint get them to do an hlr refresh (reset, reload, etc....) and that should do the trick. I've even heard of people doing it over sprint chat on their website. I literally had the EXACT same problem and this did the trick.
Contact sprint however you'd like, and ask for an hlr reset. They'll ask you to turn off your phone and pull battery for 2 minutes. (if they dont have you pull your battery, they didn't do it on their end)
I never had to pull my battery, only reboot the device.

Solution - simply dial the area code in front of the phine number.

Just spent 45 minutes in sprint chat. Trying to get am hlr reset the result was the csr rep trying to get me to do a full data wipe and my phone because there was no option under wireless & networks to toggle (NFC) Near Field Communication I was like you do know we're troubleshooting an HTC Evo 3d right? Idiot this phone didn't come with an NFC feature! Grrrr all I wanted was an hlr reset so I could roam on Verizon networks. Them he had me try the whole ##msl# thing and all the info was there so he said it magically reset and reprogrammed itself lmao idiots they hire I swear to God!

You don't have to tell them you're rooted, just follow the instructions that I posted a page back, should clear you up....

Maybe I'm wrong but, its called a "CHLR" just called and haven't roamed yet. I'm waiting so I can make a test call.
Edit: Well just went into roaming after the chlr reset and I'm still getting the Verizon msg.

They only hire habdibadab (call him hank) from bangalistan, they wont hire americans who know what they're doing. I go to the sprint store down the road and end up telling them how to fix my phone, but yet I failed the personality tests... assholes.

[Q] [HELP] Flashing back to Sprint from Cricket

I bought an Evo 3d on craiglist and got it activated. I have talk/text but i have no data, and it also wont do the Hands Free Activation. I found out the phone was previously flashed to cricket and the prl has been changed. So im trying to figure out what i need to do to get data working and how to change my prl back to spints because it wont update through Software Updates. I have tried flashing 2.17.651.5 RUU and it didnt help. Any suggestions?
Have you tried just updating the profile?
Menu/Settings/System Updates
Sometimes this can help with a bunch of issues relating to no data service. Aside from that, you may just have to call in and get the phone re-provisioned.
yea ive tried that and been on the phone with sprint and nothing is fixing the problem but i will be at my local sprint store today so hopefully they can fix the issue "i hope" haha
Sprint couldnt do anyhthing either.. they said they would have to further investigate the problem but cant because it hasnt been active on my account for over 30 days so im back on my shift now is there anything i can do?

Here is another one this one this one is from cricket back to sprint for the evo so I am not sure it will work for you or not but I am posting it for you anyways.

Try this
Open up your dialer and dial
##72786#
select edit and enter MSL
select menu and then Reset
You will need your msl to get it just download an app called msl reader from the play store.
After you have done with that it should do a hands free activation. When its done then do this
Dial
##3282#
select edit and enter MSL
select data profile
select menu and select Restore
Let it reboot and then when your back booted up update your profile and prl to see if that works.

Like you said, it sounds like you need to flash a sprint prl, as it might still have the cricket one. If someone can list their prl, then compare it to yours. If it is different then you can follow my thread HERE to try flashing the prl. I haven't tried flashing the prl on the 3d yet though, so it might be a little different. That was the only way I was able to get data working, and I tried every other method.
Techknowfile made a modified epst.apk for the og EVO. It works for sense roms on the 3d. I have it on my SD card, but I can't post it from the xda app on my phone. It makes it so you can dial ##prl(775) and change your prl on the go. Here's a link to his thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=696073

Error code 67

So I was on hboot 1.5 (2.17) and wanted to downgrade. Calls, sms and data were all working fine. Did a nandroid, downgraded successfully and ran 1.13 ruu.
Booted up and still had all working, now with hboot 1.4 so I did revolutionary method for s-off and it seemed it wiped all my data, sms and calls.
Had weird phone # (00000728, something like that) but I had a backup I made on QPST so I restored and had calls and sms back but not data.
I restored my nandroid hoping there was a chance but nothing happened. When I turn mobile network on, I keep getting error code 67 and can't surf the web.
Also, I'm on a Mexican network (Iusacell) and my EVO is CDMA.
Any ideas of what can I do?

before root had that problem. went to update profile under settings -- system updates and that fixed it.
Do a hands free activation to get your data back. ##72786# then it will ask you to enter you MSL and then let it do its thing. It will check for prl and software updates. Make sure you press cancel for software updates. You should be good to go then.

Had the same issue a while back, I did all those tricks from before and still had the same error. I had to call up my service provider and then ended up resetting my network/data connection and it was fixed.
I also had it happen again but this was was due to a second error. I was running an airwave and I just had to reboot it and it was fine again.

This is correct. This is a problem on the carriers end and you need to call and have them reprovision your line. Fast and easy.

My wife's Evo seems to be part Boost Mobile

I did a trade here on XDA for my wife's Evo (which she loves) but it seems that the person that owned it before me flashed it to boost mobile. I really have no clue about anything when it has to do with flashing carriers as I've never had to do it.
The phone works fine except she can't send or receive texts with out some sort of attachment (a little annoying attaching a pic to a text when I just want to send a simple text). Also occasionally when she makes a phone call it will tell her to call boost mobile.
The person that owned it before me relocked the phone and left it rooted.
My question is...
Can I unlock it and flash a stock rooted Sprint ROM? Will that get rid of any boost mobile traces. Or should I just take it to Sprint with my pants jacked to my tits druling and act like a retard?
Happy wife... happy life.

Try this.
1. Write Sprint PRL back to the device.
2. Dial ##786# from the dialer. Enter the SPC (you probably set it to 000000 after flashing. Hit menu in the upper right corner and go ahead and reset.
Reboot the device. You should see the hands free activation pop up upon the next reboot.

nice! let us kno how it goes
I haven't had much time to research this but my wife's Evo has the 1.5 hboot. I was told by a WELL respected "recognized dev" to root, s-off, custom recovery and flash a Sprint ROM and all traces of boost mobile will be gone. With the 1.5 hboot it seems I'm kinda screwed.
If I'm wrong about the 1.5 hboot you'll have to excuse me. I've been out of the HTC scene for a while.
Am I wrong about the 1.5 hboot being unlockable?
Edit. My wife took it to sprint when she first got the phone and I think they updated it. Bastards!

Error code 67...

I have both the SGS3 and the EVO 4GLTE. I switch between the two phones every now and then. The problem is when I activate the evo via the Sprint website, I get the constant error code 67 message. Doing a ##scrtn# or ##rtn# reset doesn't help. It goes through the activation but data doesn't work. I can make phone calls...
When I activate the SGS3 I don't have any of these issues.
How do I get data to work on the evo 4g lte without having to call Sprint tech support?

Yah I tried this but it didn't work.
Data Call Failures.. How I hate them. My first EVO failed when updating profile, and I lost data and texting for good on it. No EPST codes would work with it, nothing would happen.
I would suggest bringing it into a Sprint store.

Yah but I don't want to do that all the time when I activate the evo 4g lte. Also kinda afraid that the will update the hboot.
Very weird this time when in switched over, I was able to do with ##scrtn# and activated and provisioned properly and data is working.
