Motorola Backflip Issue - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So my motorola mb300/backflip is really messed up and old so i stopped using it but yesterday i "rediscovered" it I succesfully used RSD to fix it then rooted and installed cm7 but then my battery got low and my phone wouldn't charge?! Eventually it died, and when I tried to boot it would get half way then die and restart, i could only get succesfully to j_r0dd's recovery so i wiped everything and tried reflashing gapps and cm7 it got halfway then, my phone died. Idk if that messed it up but i once again kept boot looping and could only get to j_r0dd's recovery i tried again and died again when verifying package. I just used rsd to restore back to 2.1 and then connected my phone to my wall charger but right when my phone powers up it shows the little spinning circle and says shutting down, it shuts down and then restarts and same thing again and again and again until i unplug it and then it really dies and doesn't even turn on. Any ideas what I could do?

Woke up & phone dead ?

All,
I have been on here for months, but this my 1st post. I have an Atrix that has been rooted, boot loader unlocked, Tenfar's recovery, but running stock ROM 1.8.x. I have not done any "tampering" with or ROM updates or anything like that. The phone in a few weeks and it has been working flawlessly.
However, this morning when I woke up, the phone is just sitting there dead. My wife said she heard a weird beep a few hours earlier. It will not power up via battery and the power button does not appear to work either.
I attached it to the wall charger an it will come up to the motorola and display "unlocked" but will not go past that screen. I also noticed that no charge led is lit up at all ... Strange ? I was able to get into recovery and I tried for a restore using Tenfar's CWM but after it completed and I went for a "reboot phone now" it just went back to the black screen and never booted at all.
Any thoughts ? Thanks in advance !

Could be simply that your battery is dead. If you have a friend with an Atrix the first thing to try is an alternative battery.
If that doesn't help the second thing to try would be a full rom flash and full wipe via fastboot.
This happened to me as well. The phone will not charge during boot so what I did was enter fastboot with hardware(or an option like that) and I got past it started up in a couple minutes.

It appears to be the battery ... I tried it with a different one and it booted without issue. Very strange as it appears to have died all of the sudden. Just glad it is not the actual phone. Anyway, thanks for the info, much appreciated !

[Q] Platypus Boot Looping

Ok so i recently tried to boot The Platypus rom and it had success but now my phone has just been looping from the original sgh screen and then it will flash the Platypus boot and then it will appear for about 3 seconds, after that sometimes in will show CWR and then for a split second the yellow triangle will show up. My phone just keeps doing it over and over. I tried to recover but it says there no recovery
How do i fix this?!
hey, sorry bro..my advice sort of got you here. But from what your describing...if that were to happen to me. I would straight up pull battery, plug in usb cable...hold volume down while re-inserting battery. bam download mode. Back to stock. Repeat from start.

WOW, I tried to go into download mode 50 times and it never worked, as soon as i read your post and do it exactly as you said it worked
Thanks
EDIT: Ok so by phone desided to do that again and doing the battery pull isnt working :l just loop de loop. When I do try to get into download mode it show the battery with the loading circle and just goes to Platypus and to CWR and loop.

Bricked while trying to flash the Bravia engine after installing the Slick JB rom

Okay, I installed the slickjb rom and it worked fine. The installed the bravia engine and the phone would not boot (stuck on flash screen). I turned it off and went back into recovery and flashed my back-up. Everything okay again. Then I flashed the slickjb rom again and all was okay again. I thought what the hell, maybe I did something wrong with the bravia flash so I tried it again. Same issue. I then started the restore process again with my backup and walked away for like 2 minutes. Came back and my phone was black. LED was on, but would not come on. I cannot turn it on. About all I can do is plug it into a power source and the LG logo will flash and it will go black. The same if I unplug it. I tried going into download mode, which I can, and doing an LGNPST and the process will proceed, but then at either 67% or 85% the process stops and the phone will look like it is rebooting (LG flashes a couple of times or three) and then it goes blank. Nothing. I have tried this 4 times. What do I do? This is my only phone.

Your phone is stuck in a protection mode. It enters this mode when it detects overheating and often happens by mistake. Mine did it and it freaked me out.
Here's how I fixed it.
Plug it in to the CHARGER to the wall.
leave it plugged in for an hour or so.
then unplug it and leave it unplugged for 15-20 minutes.
then plug it in to the charger again and it SHOULD power up again by itself.
Thanks to houstonn for telling me about this.

[Q] Weird Charging problem please help

Everytime I plug in Nook Charging cable it keeps booting over and over. If I plug in my samsung galaxy cable it charges but the moment I plug in it just turns off completely and wont turn on until I unplug. I originally had a dual boot system running for 1.4.0 which is my nook version and tried to do a recovery which said successful from the file I created but when I rebooted the whole system didnt know what to use for what and kept asking then crashing. I factory wipe/reset after the problem started and upgraded to CM10 cynogen mod with the new JellyBean no duel boot. RUNS AMAZING. But the charging problems still remains, even when I booted stock after factory reset it was still doing this. I have CWM installed internally. Please help me I have looked over many threads one said it was an update problem created with AdobeFlash updates and I tryed to flash the fix listed but it just says error during install and aborts. Also it will stay on during the cynogen mod boot screen even if i plug in either charger but at the top it just says "Charging Disabled" says the precent. I left it plugged in at this screen and it didnt charge one percent after 30 minutes.
I just want to charge it and have it on at the same time. Please any help, any ideas and comments is appreciated. Thank You
i have this problem too. I'm using CM10. My battery died and wouldn't charge no matter how long I had it plugged in for.
Then recently it turned on, but when it is plugged into the wall, it just constantly reboots.
Any help?

Lenovo A820 won't start

Hello everyone!
I have a Lenovo a820 with Lambda rom 2.4v.
I'm using it for a couple of weeks now with this last version, and everything was fine, until suddenly it froze for a while, I unplugged the battery and plugged it again, and what I notice was that the phone restored itself to when after I installed the rom (meaning all of the apps were gone).
So I tried going into Google play, installing some apps back, and I get this error -24 telling me its unable to install the app, happened with any app I tried. so after trying a few suggestions from the internet about this error, I decided to format it and install the rom all over again.
I go back to recovery mode with CWM, try to install the lambda rom like I did before, and in the middle of the installation it reboots and gets stuck in the "lenovo" screen like when you boot it. so after waiting for a long time I unplugged and plugged the battery again, went through the procedure again this time it installed it 100% rebooted so it would boot with the mod, and again, it freezes at "lenovo" start screen unable to boot.
went on recovery mode, formatted system, data, emmc, everything... I think that's the issue here. but im not sure.
After that, tried to install again with the same problem.
The problem now is. it won't even start I press the on/off button to start it normally, and I dont even get the "lenovo" screen, I tried going into recovery mode and no luck.
It's like the phone is dead! Although I have another Lenovo A820 and I tried the battery, and its 60% so that's not the battery.
Do you guys know any tricks? or any tools that I could use to get my phone running again?
I would appreciate it very much, any help you can give.
Matt.
