Skip tracks via volume buttons long-press for MIUIv4(ICS) - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is someone developing this? I know that Andy Thompson developed it for MIUI based on GB. It's will be very nice if someone make this.

Cyanogen feature. Touch panel?

Does cyanogen have a touch panel feature in one of its builds to add like a menu, back, home button on the status bar?
If so, how would i add that to another build?

Yes, but it's on its own status bar at the bottom of the screen (for tablets).
CM7 has it in the pull down status bar also.
It's call the Notifiction power widget.
It's under CM settings> Interface

Would there be a possible way to add that feature to a phone?

Of course it could be, you just enable it in cyanogen, but since my phone has those keys, I don't really need it personally.
If you mean porting to something not running cyanogen, that would require taking it out of the cyanogen source and adding it to whatever you are using.
Im creating this firmware for an outdated phone because people are having problems with hard buttons so i figured a feature like this would help
Alrighty il take a look

Ah, that makes sense why you wanted it now. The only problem I can think of is the latest cyanogen uses 2.3.5 android os, so if you are porting it to something else not at least using gingerbread, it could be problematic with some of the libraries/dependencies and require massive backporting.
0uch, alright so I would have to rebuild everything to gain a feature like that?
Mmm yeah I think I'll stick to button savior...

[REQ] Camera-Button MOD

Hey there,
just wondering why nobody had this idea, already:
Could someone create a MOD for our RAZR to get a real Camera-Button?
I thought about the "ButtonRemapper" APP combined with an "running-app-recognizer".
So when I start the camera app, the Power-Button will be remapped as a Camera-Button. And when the Camera-App is closed, the Power-Button should be remapped to defaults...
Someone could do this?
Sorry I'm not a developer / modder...
Great idea, very useful!

Now that sounds awesome! I do miss have a camera button.

The search button would make a comfortable one. Or the volume rokrs. Like on cyanogen and other custom roms.

Menu button in ICS

Maybe you guys can help me. We are developing an app but do not want the on-screen menu button to show in Android 4.0 (and probably 3.0) since it serves no purpose. How can we accomplish this?
I've seen apps that hide it such as airbnb and others.

I think I saw something like this on the official Android page - the ICS section.Scroll down until you go to "for devs" part.I'm not entirely sure but I'm on my phone and can't check now

Is there a way to change the search key function in aokp jellybean sep 20 2012?

Hi, I am kinda new to jellybean. as the title suggests, Is there a way to change the search button key in jellybean? I am really use to previous versions of android, so jellybean's approach to the searchkey opening google now is really uncomfortable.
nvm, sorry to waste your time guy. I found an app that changes the functions of the hardware keys. With that app, I was able to change the search key to the same function it had with ics. Thanks for the help xda
What app is it?
yes I am looking for an app that does this as well.. its kinda annoying going to google now
Kind of a blind stab in the dark but i found this app that looks like it fits the bill :::

that app just adds softkeys on screen. was mainly used for the nook color since it had no buttons
I found this on the market, but it hasn't been updated since Feb '11

I just used button remapper here on xda (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=850464) and it works wonderfully.
It's powered by ANDROID 4.1..1 JellyBean AOKP running Devil Kernel 1.6.0
The button remapper mentioned above didn't work on my fascinate, but this did this trick for me:

[Q] 'in-call' interface customization

Has anyone figured out how to re-map the interface layout of the 'in-call' view? The dial pad is set way too high. Maybe there is a way to download a phone mod from a different version of android? Please someone, help me out here.

Really sick of this interface. Maybe we can flash a phone from a different device? Or OS? Maybe chanhe some system files? Idk. Lets all come together on this one boys and girls.

Flash a different ROM? Lol. The Google edition ROMs have the AOSP styled dialer. I dunno, I think it's ugly too.
