Thank you

Battery drain can be caused by many things. Try a different kernel, that may help sometimes

Provide actual kernel and rom installed so we can check if there any application or process which must be take more battery than others

I'm using feravolts kernel v2.7 and feralabs rom V20 that final, break the limits.

I recently migrated from free x10 to this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=945264) with custom kernal (z/tripnraver) and ever since then, android system has been using more battery than cell standby and even sometimes display, and my battery time is much less than usual. when i moved from free x10 i restored data, btw... anyone know why this is happening to me?

Strange.when I'm using TripNMIUI with custom kernel, my battery is okay :O
yeah, i would reflash but i really don't feel like it -_-
Yeah, the kernels drain battery fast for me too. I use .52 BB with MiUi(TripN), and Launcher7 and my battery is fantastic.

I didn't wipe anything.
With most roms it is best to wipe before flashing.

Tested on:
FreeX10 beta4 hotfix1 - all works
TripNMiUI Gingerbread - rom works, recovery should work but not confirmed yet
wolfbreak 6.1.3. v7 or 6.1 - rom will give you lots of fc's

Clear your battery stats in recovery, and use Battery Calibration app by NéMa on the market.
Use Juice Defender?
Yeah I'm having this problem with the official stable release of cm7 too. never had this trouble with cm9, 10 or 10.1 (unnofficial ofc) or with custom cm7 roms. Perhaps try another kernel? I am currently looking for one and will post an update when I find an optimal solution.
Cm9 provides the best overall xperience for P500
Press Thanks

Anyone else noticing battery drain with ICS Update on LWW?

I recently updated to ICS on my Live with Walkman. I also rooted it and installed CWM. But lately i have been noticing the battery drains faster, than it did with gingerbread. Anyone else is having this problem? I'm using Apex Launcher too. But I try using stock and its the same problem.

Taskkillers make the drain worse.
And yes, drain is a bit higher because ICS is a lot heavier so it needs more juice to work.
dont know if compared to gb because i've only use stock gb for a hour or so but compared to other ics rom like miui, minicm and cm9, stock ics combined with kamarush kernel gave me awesome battery life. 0.5-1% drain per hour on idle.

This is somehting I have experienced personally, but I haven't found out why it happens yet. It's a little OT, but could you explain in brief why killing an app often reduces available RAM?

the app has to start all the stuff it does all over again because it was unexpectedly closed. the unused app is closing itself anyway just when it isn't needed anymore and when it fully performed the task.
longer explanation if you're not afraid to READ [oh noes!]:

If you close an specific app, then some amount of RAM is freed. Temporarily. Certain apps start again, because they are needed by the system. The startup of the app requires more power than closing, finally you are losing more power.
Doesn't matter what electronic device you have, starting it up uses most energy. Your computer, phone, lamps, microwave - everything!

can you tell me wich rom is better? i have never installed one, but im thinking about it, can you please tell me more about this stuff? i mean if you can tell me or give the link to know how to install kamarush kernel and another rom, like CM9 (with ICS?
no battery drain for me
and im using it like this
1-1,5hour listening to music
30min 3g
1-1,5hour wi-fi
1hour playing game
holding for 12 hours and still on 30% battery
mine was good
i use 2x batt n android booster from market
I use my lww ics the same way like on gb. On gb I was on stock rom with rage kernel 2.8. Now I am on ics with extended stock rom kernel from expeacer.
Through my feelings I would say battery live is the same as on gb. For exactly clearing it out we must compare with the help of a monitoring software.
So my conclusion is no change in battery life between ics and gb.

Updated yesterday and I've noticed my battery is draining faster after a day of normal use. But i think that is mainly to the fact that i haven't figured out how to root ICS and still have all that bloatware running around sucking my battery!

360 Launcher? I used GO Launcher when I was on GB, but I found a better launcher for ICS. It's Apex Launcher, you can search for it on Google Play Store, I really recommend this launcher, its great!

Xperia Neo users, who use The Alliance kernel

Xperia Neo users, that using The Alliance a.k.a Night-elf kernel for ICS 4.0.4
I want to hear from you..
I'm using this kernel, and after the battery got 10% you will get notified your battery is going low, just a few seconds after the notification, i get notified again that's said my battery is now just only 1% then the phone shutting down.
I think it is not a problem with my battery, i have test it a few times and got the same results, is anyone here experiencing the same with me?
As i'm new member at XDA i can't post on development forum to report this. I also found 1 more thing about the CWM recovery, i just sending a message directly to Night-elf as the developer.
Did not get the answer yet..
no problem for me..
i'm using this kernel... till now no problem for me good battery backup... note:i'm using lite version..
I also have that problem while using night elf kernel ics.

You need to calibrate your battery... fully charge it and then go to recovery and under "advanced" "wipe battery status". Then use it normally and let the battery get fully discharged(this is optional). Thats normal when you change ROMs or kernels...
I'm using the full version..
Also i found a problem with the CWM back-up, it doesn't back-up /system/vendor/ so if you are wiping your data and system you will get force close after restoring your back-up.
I have sending a message to Night-elf but he does not reply it until now..
@Dioggo92: Thanks, will try it
Mmmm never had this issue, and i test a lot of roms so doing and restoring backups all the time.

Why?
What is battery wipe function?
Battery stats are wiped every time you charge your phone up to 100%.

This delete battery status file, thats mean, battery usage count starts from zero and totally not affect battery life.
Guys...battery calibration worked for me...I have only 4% drain in 7 hours..with all data and sync on with 2 Gmail account....and fb messenger...

I think wiping the battery stats also work for me..
If you suggest we to not wipe the battery stats, what is the side effect of doing this???
I have alliance kervel too, but i haven´t problem like this. Did you try for example suave kernel? Because i think it´s problem of battery, not the kernel.

MIUI v5

Hello.. I was using MIUI v5 4.2.18 or some version like that. My problem is.. battery goes down like hell and when I use Mirage kernel it reboots when on about 40 percent. Does anyone have these battery issues or could anyone advice some alternative kernel? Thank you very much :fingers-crossed:

Miui is known for being a battery and memory hog,if you're looking for something a bit more battery friendly try aosp ROMs or under clocking CPU and gpu
