Hi all.
I have Sony Xperia S with loudspeaker problem - it doesn't work at all. It's probably not a speakers problem but main board. Has anybody got same fault? Any way to reapir it? I can do soldering stuff on my own but I don't know what has to be either replaced or eventually reflown.

Hi, have you managed to get that problem sorted? My brother has exactly the same issue with his Xperia P.
Bump, has happened to me now as well, hopefully warranty will cover this. Will call them later but is there any suggestions to how to fix it?

1. if you can make recordings with you prophet, that means the mic. of it is working fine,
2. can hear music, that mean the speaker in fine.....
3. well, did you mute your phone?
4. or alternatively, you may try to flash other roms, but,
5. you can also try to hard reset you phone before starting any further.. ^_^

i've try using original handsfree but still can't solve this matter...

hardware problem...
ive had this several months back...
its due to using the headphone a lot of the time that causes the metal in the audio jack to damage or lose its "spring"ity..hehe...
theres way to fix it...try find some post in xda

my problem not fram audio jak . i tryed that .
i cann't use headset and handsfree whit wire . i can only use hadsfree bluetooth . and when i chenge my device ROM the headset work but after 10 min or 15min or few more that not work . early after softrest that work but after few hours again headset not work . and when i use over and over for several time of headset that work and again after few minutes headset not work .

1. You case did sound like the ear-piece of the prophet is getting aged. (hardware matters)
2. Aging of electrical components cause unstable performance of the hardware,
3. I am afraid you need to replace the ear-piece of your prophet to dig your way out.
( or re-flash you prophet will be an alternative, to see if really a chance for software problem)
if so, feel free to flash with the tool from my signature.Error free anyway~ ^^ )

1. flash other rom (you may click and follow the steps @ my signature ),
2. bring your phone to repair
Strange, my other prophet (Xda Neo) has this issue, I think it is HW. I tried flashing Radio Rom, but no luck, also I changed earpiece but no luck. I will try flashing WM6, bluetooth headset works fine, very strange.

1st shop said board problem....to replaced very costly better buy new 1
2nd shop --- can repair but no spare part
3rd shop --- ic problem..after replaced the ic my prophet back to normal again...

There are separate speakers for hands free and earphone on xda neo (htc prophet) as i know, i had a problem with hands-free (music) speaker but i could still hear when making calls.
I don't know if this is going to help you, or you already solved it.
Hello, I have searched all over the forums but I can't seem to find an answer.
I have a Xperia X10 mini and I'm having problems with very low volume in my front speaker (earpiece, the one use to make calls). I'm 99% certain it's a hardware problem, not a software bug in a custom rom (however I'm using the latest miniCM7).
I want to know which replacement part I need to fix this. I mean, is it possible to buy the front earpiece or does this come with the LCD or something. Also, does anyone know a trustworthy place to buy this?
Hmmm.. Try to go any near shop that they can repair phones. Maybe that should help you.

I have the sony ericcsson xperia ray and have not got any problems with it really other than the fact to me the in-call volume is rather low, to the point where if i'm out and about I can not hear the other person talking and as you can imagine this has some problems.
So what i'm asking is for a solution (if any) to raise the in-call volume so that when i'm on the phone talking to someone outside I will be able to hear them clearly.
If it helps I am rooted and running a custom stock rom. Help would be greatly appreciated cheers guys!

I'm using the same device too. I didn't face that kind of problem till now. Why don'tyou try pressing the vol "+" button when you're in call.

Yeah it's at max already I must be getting deaf, I just need something like an app or a code or a flashable file or something along those lines to raise the in-call standard volume if possible, If not then i guess i'm stuck haha! Thanks though.

try other custom firmwares ,maybe its the problem of your current one.:fingers-crossed:

The In-Call Volume on Xperia Ray is VERY low both in Ear Speaker and Loud Speaker. It is very difficult to hear the other person if your hearing is not perfect. It is a horrible situation and no fix in sight! But if I find something I will post it. I hope someone can help.
Music etc on loudspeaker works fine. So far the solutions posted, loudspeaker on then off, then volume - then + are impractical.
Using baseband 86 (latest) on Xperia Ray Gingerbread. ICS had the same issue, and was completely unstable for this phone, Xperia Ray. This problem is in Stock Sony Firmware and ALSO in stock BASED Firmware. Custom Firmware also seem to have this issue.
Very weird situation happen only when i use viber between Sony z2 and Galaxy note 3 ,, every time i speak beeps sounds very loud coming out from headphone or from speakers when i use speakers. it only happen when i call my wife she has the Note 3 and i have the Z2,, it never happen with all other phones from my side and her side as well,, both phones are not rooted and everything original out the box,, Sony Z2 with .402 update and Note 3 with 4.4 Kitkat.
If anyone have this weird issue please comment here ...its very very annoying problems ,, i can't speak well in viber

Finally someone comment here. unfortunately I didn't find any solution to this annoying problem yet. neither i found another posts online or someone have this issue. if i find a solution or at least know the reason why then i will post it here, please do same so.
How are you finding the sound quality on Viber on the Z2?
I find it to be very quiet & I can barely hear the person I'm talking to & they can barely hear me, emailed Viber support but they weren't much use even though I pointed out that Viber on old Galaxy S3 was nice & loud in both voice & notifications sounds but on the Z2 it is way too quiet, tried Line & the sound is good on that but the app is bloated & the smileys are crap lol.

Same here. the sound quality is crap. very low sound.. when I am outside i open speaker and put it on my ear and barely can hear the sound.. And the sound of beeps always happen even with speaker on. I had before samsung phone galaxy mega 6.3 and the sound was awesome. Am thinking to buy bluetooth headset to use it instead of the phone
Yeah same here mate, even using it in speaker phone mode the sound is way too quiet & muffled. I'm gonna email their support again, would suggest you do the same. The more reports & complaints they get about it will make them do something about it.

Any update? I am having same issue. Voice recordings in Viber are very poor. I have contacted online Sony support. And actually it happens not only in Viber. And they told me it's hardware issue. And advised to do firmware restore and hardreset. But my wife has Z2 too with same issues and both phones from different countries, different stores. May be Sony uses new way to record sounds or poor support of microphones in API.

No. I didn't do any of those yet.
OK, guys, just did software repair. Nothing changed. Don't go for it and don't waste your time.
Well I emailed Viber support about the 4th-5th Sept & only got a reply from them yesterday about a month & a half later asking me to install a debug version that will wipe my message history, they suggest to email message history but AFAIK there is no way to restore it.
Pretty pathetic support if you ask me.
at least it's good they replied you.. They didn't reply me till now and it has been more than a month.. now am thinking to buy bluetooth headset just to get rid of this annoying problem but then even with bluetooth headset you can't answer viber calls directly like normal calls.. i read on other threads someone from viber support team said they don't yet support bluetooth headset.. as if viber not everyone use it and majority use normal calls. it's really ridiculous

Yeah I can use MyBackup Pro to back up the viber data but after restoring it viber won't even open & just force closes right away.
Had the Z2 for about a month, all of the sudden the primary microphone have no sound. The secondary still work...I need to take my call with either speaker phone or a bluetooth headset. Any idea on how to fix this?? I tried updating the firmware to the latest one and resetting my phone and still didn't fix it.

I got my new Z2 three days ago and it now have the same problem as you. I can use speaker while talking on the phone only. If I don't use speaker, then the other party cannot hear me.
I went to the setting -> about phone -> diagnostic -> microphone and it failed with no sound recorded.
It did got fixed for no reason and it is now dead again.
I'm going to replace the whole thing. Cannot live without a phone for one day.
