Hi guys, I have bought a new battery, it is 3500mA. I can charge it and use it, but android doesn't see it as a 3500 battery but it see 1700mA. How its possible? And the max voltage is around 4250
Anyway this is my first charge.

Please i realy need help, i don't understand why it doesn't full charge.
At full charge i have this:
Voltage: 4214mV (with stock was about 4.350)
Capacity: 1700mA detected by Kernel Tuner app
I'm sure the battery is good, i have accidentally completely drained the battery before do a full charge. But i have asked about this to my professor of my classroom and he say that i can stay quiet. Please help :S
I'm moving this to Accessories section.
It sems that is discharge like stock battery :'( why?!
Inviato dal mio HTC EVO 3D X515m con Tapatalk 2
it sounds like its one of the batteries that is just 2 x1700 without the chip that tells the phone it is double capacity, if you run it down to a low percent then turn off the phone take out the battery and replace it will show 50 % I dont know the whole story or technical reasons, but i have a Sino batt that does it, there is plenty written about it in this section somewhere

So what i have to do?
Inviato dal mio HTC EVO 3D X515m con Tapatalk 2
You can peel the label and it'll show the actual mah capacity.
The only thing you can do is return it. If you can't, than you'll have to chalk it up as a loss.
There isn't a way, like change some setting or edit a file to set battery to 3500mA??

What brand is it?
Doesn't have a brand. Here it is: eBay Link
I have all stock now, bootloader locked and s-on and still doesn't recognise it... What's wrong?

Its the battery, what i said before, its missing a circuit that tells the phone its a single battery and not 2x1700.
I have one that does the same and 2 that dont, best one I am using now is a yoobao from here, great batter no problems http://www.obostore.com/3500mah-yoobao-extended-battery-for-htc-evo-3d-p-2883.html

No probably 50% usually. If you take it down to 10% then reboot you should find 60%.. Roughly

High capacity battery sometimes has been reported wrong capacity by OS, especially battery made from unknown China manufacturers. Be careful when you use these kind of batt because it may harm your phone and you also (exploding...). Only use stock battery from HTC for you and your device safety.

I left my E3D on during night in silent mode because I needed alarm. After 75 minutes from unplugging the phone from charger battery capacity dropped by one bar. When I wake up capacity drops to 4 bars. The entire night phone wasn't in use whatsoever.
Is this normal?
No this is not common. I had this problem last week. I related mine to a bad flash. So I installed another nightly and Chad's kernel. Fixed it for me.
But I'm running stock ROM and this is happening since day one.
probably a bad app. there is apps that can pin-point a battery draining app.
check whats using your battery, in settings, about phone and battery,if its stock, has to be something to do with an app.
are you rooted?
custom recovery?
Not rooted, stock recovery. All apps I have are the same from Desire. Will post battery graph after battery wears out.

Hopefully it's just an app killing your phone. Is it still under warranty?
It's 5 days old.

What apps have you installed, your not giving any info whatsoever, is your battery an official HTC battery

See if your phone goes to sleep by comparing awake time and up time. If awake time is almost the same as up time, then most likely your phone stays awake due to an app.
You can allow installation of apps from unknown sources and then download betterbatterystats here in xda.

This may help you identify which app drains the battery.
What I'm suppose to look for?

Since you just got your 3d I'd recommend calibrating your battery to help with battery drain.

Hmmmmmmmm.......if. that's the only thing, could just be a bad battery. Go back to the store and demand that you get a workable battery that supposed to compliment the awesomeness that is Evo 3D!!
How long lasts your EVO?
Odoslané z môjho HTC EVO 3D X515m cez Tapatalk
My stock phone was terrible on battery (about 9-10 hours per charge with very little usage), custom ROMs and kernels fixed that for me. Sense is just TERRIBLE on battery overall and has some of the worst idle battery life I have ever seen. My best is using on of Chad's quite old kernels (before Qualcom B source and RLS9 stuff) and MIUI. After I get it set up and tweaked a bit I have gone 3 days between charges.
Sense 3.5 improved in this area a lot. Combine this with GPU acceleration and you have HUGE battery improvement.

I had to recharge it 3 times in 24 hours. That's just pathetic.
Guys ain't sure this is out there and I did search but couldn't find much on subject so looking for someone to confirm...
I now know of three different peoples 3vos batteries to completely fry around the 4 month mark, this includes my 3vo which is why at the moment I'm posting this from my hd2...
I've looked at all variables in the three different cases and nothing stands out... is it just HTC supplying crap batteries that can't keep up?!?
Appreciate some comments back guys and girls!!

That is built in the Kernel I believe. Basically, your phone charges to 99%, then internally stops charging until it hits below 95% and starts again. What I do is when I wake up, unplug, then plug back in. By the time I leave around 45 minutes later it is back to 99%. You can if you have a recovery, let it charge to 99%, then power off, boot into recovery and wipe battery stats, then resume charging. Do this 2-3 times and you can get to 100%.

Actually I thought I read not. I seem to remember that is HTC's kernel and the same problem doesn't happen to CM but I've never run it so I couldn't say myself.
Whenever i am charging my phone and using it at the same time everything gets laggy. Im not talking about constant FC but just that i have to slow down a bit when im using the keyboard whil texting or something. Is this just me?

So this has to do with the ROM? Not the phone?
From my knowledge, some roms have this functionality that limits the CPU speed based on the temperature of Tue battery, to prevent overheating, and since power is going to the phone, the battery is going to heat up, and the CPU clock speed compensates for that, slowing the phone down to prevent any overheating of the phone

Do you charge your phone with original charger? It's normal when you use cheap chargers (for example mine is from dx). It has something to do with interference with touch screen.

I can attest to the same issue, make sure you're not using a junky charger while charging your phone.
As long as i'm not using a junky charger my phone doesn't lag at all. Hope that helps a bit...
Thanks for explaining and I am using the original HTC charger.

But it looks like it doesn't hurt my phone, so I don't care about it. If I need to do something I just disconnect it from charger.
Odesláno z mého HTC EVO 3D X515m pomocí Tapatalk 2
Yes it may be your rom so what I do when it happens to me is when I text I unplug the charging thing that goes in your evo lol and plug it back in after Im done
Sent from my PC36100 using xda premium
Another cause of lagg when charging is choosing a battery icon that has a charging animation in the status bar. I have a S3 and it becomes very laggy with the charging animation so I chose a simple battery icon that doesn't have any charging animation and now it is the same speed when charging or not charging.
If you don't have an issue with heat build up you can use kernel tuner to bump up your min CPU speed and also adjust thermal control limits.

buy an other battery if you found battery with 2000 mah its great

or try to calibtrate your battery with calibrate app from play store
Maybe kernel faulty ? Or hardware ? I don't think it's battery problem...

Ok, i will try..
Just bought a new battery for my phone from eBay, the kinps 2450mAh li-ion battery.
The only way I can get it to charge is be physically removing it from my phone and putting it in a wall charger.
Every time I try charging it through the HTC charger from the box it doesn't charge and actually keeps draining
Does anybody have any ideas on how to fix, this is the 2nd battery the seller sent me because the first one he sent had the same problem

Maybe your charger simply doesn't deliver enough juice to succesfuly charge that battery. I seriously doubt that you could get two faulty batteries
