Not quite sure i follow but if you mean putting extra batteries in the dock i do believe that is possible if you have the soldering know how, i know you can fit in a hard drive so an extra battery shouldnt be too hard

Mine did the same thing. I sent the keyboard back to them, they sent it back saying it was fine. I called them and complained that not only did they not fix the issue, but that the keyboard INCLUDING shipping time and all was still under 4 months old. They had me send it back in to them, they got it, and within a week I had a brand new one waiting for me when I got home, with a notation that the original one had a loose solder joint that would allow the charging system to "overload" the battery pack and "caused" it to expand, but under normal usages the keyboard should not have done this, it "MUST" have been something I was doing.
I replied back to them that I had the tablet docked and charging overnight as I had used both battery packs to shut down points. They had me send the tablet back this time, and found that there was a "loose" connection between the tablet AND the dock that caused the issue with the battery. They replaced both my new replacement keyboard AND my tablet and extended the warranties for both.

Seen this happen on a Motorola phone. Also read where Lithium batteries have more potential to explode and start a fire. It also warns against using external rapid battery chargers (not an issue for tablets) since it raises that potential.

If its less than a year old, not rooted, and no evidence of physical damage or water damage, then they have to fix it under warranty.

Yeah I just got mine fixed for it stop charging. I was happy they didn't even say anything about it being rooted might have just gotten very lucky. They also didn't delete data thank God. Hope they do same fur you.
Do you know if she may have mistakenly put the wrong side of the charger in? That's what I did for a second and it wouldn't charge anymore couldn't even connect to computer.

Im not sure if thats whay she did or not. Of course if she did she wont admit it but nothin looks damaged. As of right now its still at 80% but i have a feeling once this thing dies we wont be abke to power it back up. It was xmas gift from her grandmother and of course her grandmother cant find the reciept and paid cash for it. I called geek squad and they said theres nothin they can do because theres no reciept and we dont have bestbuys insurance. They told me to call htc and see what they can do. Also is there maybe a power mat for tablets like there is for phones?

Power Mat requires access to the charge port, or to replace the battery door. So that's not going to help you in this case. Calling HTC is your best bet.
Had a problem like this. The Tab inside the charging port was pushed in too far. I took the case off, and pushed the tab back out then reset the two positioning tabs to hold the connection tab in the correct position. If those two positioning tabs are not depressed deep enough the connection tab can be pushed in out of place and no connection is made.
Im not mechanically incline enough to do that lol.....i called htc and told em the story there sent me out a package with a return shipping package. Apparently this is a common issue. They said as long as theres no physical damage or water damage it shouldnt be an issue. The case has been in an otterbox since day one

Same thing happened to me not too long ago, I just assumed it was either because i washed it with my clothes or the battery was dead.. i'll look into it a bit more and let you know if I find the cause.
Sent from my Inspire 4G using xda premium
I have this problem too! Either it cannot be detected or it suddenly becomes overly sensitive. Not sure what's the cause, but I think it's the pen.
The way I solve it was to remove and then re-insert the battery. And it will be fine again.
It's kinda irritating especially when I'm taking down notes halfway.
I struggled with the same problem for some time and several fresh batteries later. HTC support was not able to figure it out. In fact, they had no other tickets logged in regards to poor pen behavior.
Here is what worked for me...I finally stopped messing around with the 9v battery hack method. I discovered that the aaaa cells they use to make the 9v are not a perfect 1.5v I guess, since they are linking them in a series, they can get away with lower quality and a slight cut in voltage (tester showed them all 1.3v new). I also stopped with the non-brand name battery. I use a Duracell Ultra now and have had no issues since. They really only cost a few dollars for a pair.
Not sure if this helps you, but thought I'd share.
I ended up opeing the pen and cleaning the electrodes

Contacts may need cleaning
I am having the same problems every other month with my HTC EVO View 4G. I bought a six pack of Energizer AAAA batteries (instead of generics) to make sure I had good batteries. And in the past month all my batteries were "bad". I bought a battery tester (a little better than using a regular multimeter since it puts a small load before checking the voltage) and it said ALL my batteries were 90%+ up to 100% (the multimeter all said all of them were 1.45v to 1.51v). So I decided to clean the contacts (without opening the pen since I could not figure it out) using a small screw driver to gently scrap the inside battery contact and electronic cleaning solution in the cap and the spring. Also, for good measure I rub the ends of the battery. So far so good (with the "weakest" battery).
But for those who that does not work, Amazon now has both the black and the silver version of the Scribe pen for less than $10 (free 2 day shipping for Amazon Prime subscribers).
Hope that helps.
I'll be right in the middle of texting or on Facebook and the phone will randomly shut off, battery life isn't really a factor although it seems the less charge, the more shutdowns. I've had the phone for 3 weeks and it recently just started doing it. I have read up a little bit on the issue and It seems like a faulty battery or a bug in the SD card causes it. I did a factory reset and formatted the SD card and It's still happening. What is the best (Most affordable) replacement battery for these phones? Is the anker a good alternative or just OEM?

I did this and have not had any issues in over a month. I aslo got a new back case by tellin gthem my signal was really unstable. IF you are nice and tell them you dont have a credit card you can get them to escalate it and send without you haveing to give them your cc number.
So the replacement won't have the same problems as the OEM? Did they fix the issue? Why would I need a new back case, what's the point?
So I called. They said I need to provide a CC number, so in case I don't send the defective battery back they can charge me MSRP, how do I request to cancel the order? I think I'm just going to try and trade the phone for something else...

I had the exact same issue as yourself. I got a free replacement from t-mobile. It was a temporary fix as many other users had previously stated, Maybe lasted a week or two till the random shut downs returned. I converted my phone back to stock as per the directions on this forum warranty exchanged it with t-mobile for free. I received my new one, Used hasoon's toolkit, S-off etc... It has been working flawless ever since. Running Energy Rom.

I had a similar problem. For me it seems to be related to the battery/phone overheating. Removing the t-mobile cover I had on the phone seems to have reduced the random shut-downs.
When I have time, I'll likely be contacting HTC for a replacement battery.
I've never owned a phone that makes me as upset as this one, this random shut down issue is a real inconvenience, If the new battery doesn't fix the issue, I'm sending it into HTC getting it repaired and selling it, I'll even take 200$ for the damn thing just to get rid of it!

Get the Anker battery on eBay or Amazon. I had several shutdowns a day with stock battery. I've a couple Anker batteries and the phone stops the auto reboot/random shutdown completely. Something is fxcked with the stock battery.
My phone charges but it seems to be thinking it's always charging even when unplugged. I use it to play music at the bar I work at & it kept going in car docking mode which I never use. My battery was almost dead but it fully charged after the night was done. I went to change the battery to see if that was the problem and when I turned it off the battery charging image came up while it was off with nothing plugged in. Now my battery status keeps flashing & changes from regular size to mini size. Has anyone ever experienced this?

Searching goes a long way here my friend. This is a common problem for a lot of people. (I've never experienced it, but many others have). The solution seems to have been cleaning out the mini usb port on the phone with some 91% isopropyl rubbing alcohol and a que tip. Or if that doesn't work it may be a bad usb port.

I guess I'm in the same boat with you. Noticed a couple of days ago the phone stopped making the little chime when you connect/disconnect the charger. Yesterday I took it off the charger and after a couple hours it was down to 40% without me using it. Today, I swapped batteries and had the same problem with the battery icon. One second it shows about 3/4 full, the next it says 100%. Then I couldn't get it to boot, just kept cycling through the battery icon. Got it booted and not only does it say charging when not connected, the USB icon is in the Stat bar saying it is MTP-connected. Guess it is time for warranty.:crying:

Sky rocket yes. I wouldn't say the one x is a downgrade necessarily
At this point I might be ready to get away from Samsung. My SI had to be replaced 3 times. The S2 has had some weird issues, but worked until this started 2 days ago. I had an HTC before (WinMo) that is still working fine today. Maybe I'll have better luck with the 1X seeing how apparently Samsung can't make phones that last.
I got an S2 as a replacement. Not a Skyrocket, so it depends on when you call. Otherwise all they would offer me was the skyrocket or 2 windows phones.

What do you think would be easier, getting the part & fixing it myself or using Odin with a tricky usb port to revert back to stock? I also lost my att splash screen by using that gs2 boot screen changing app. I got rid of the app a while back & have used a couple different roms but it seems permanent.

I think the problem is actually in the logic board and not just the connector. Even if you fix it the problem will likely reoccur in time. I don't want my phone repaired, even by AT$T, just to have it fail again, but out of warranty next time. I had to have my Captivate replaced 3 times. Maybe it's time to go back to HTC. It sucks, because I love this phone.

Mine started happening after I spilt water on the end of the charging cable and didn't let it dry off completely before plugging it in. Do you still think it would be in the logic board? Then again, it seems like more and more people are getting this problem. And of course, it's just as the warranty is expiring on these phones.

If it's a physical problem with hardware, no software changes can fix it.

Mine had nothing to do with water. I just think the micro USB connector is a poor design for something that has to be plugged and unplugged as often as a smartphone does and in the kind of environment we use them, especially in the car. The logic board is what the connector mounts to. It takes the signals from the connector and relays that information to determine whether the connection is for charging, PC connection or some other I/O function. Over time the process of disconnecting/connecting will weaken the solder joints and/or cause the thin traces in the ribbon cable to possibly short against each other and create the issues we are seeing. That's why the problems can be seen even after the cable is unplugged. Replacing just the connector will likely not solve the problem.
Talked to support. They are sending me another SII (refurbished). They wanted me to do a factory reset and download an update as part of their troubleshooting. I insisted that no software update would fix a hardware problem. *****ed enough to get them to drop it and send me another phone. My phone is rooted stock 2.3.4. Do you lose root with a reset? If I send it in rooted will that cause me trouble with the warranty dept. even though it isn't relevant to what is wrong with the phone?

I ordered one of these on there black Friday deal and just received it today. I actually think it will work quite well. Doesn't suction to the back of my phone case as well as I would have hoped but think it will be fine. Issue I'm having is it isn't charging my phone. I plug it in and turn it on and it will show it is charging the phone for a second or 2 and then go away. Anyone else get that?

Try it without a case. I don't think its meant to be used with a case or a very slim case.
I did that. Still nothing. Works fine when plugged into my n9.

Seeing the same thing. Charges N7 2012, N7 2013, and N7 LTE 2013. When I plug it into the 6 and push the button on the battery, it charges for about 1 second, and stops.

I sent them an email on Friday. Hopefully I hear back this week.

I don't know if anyone is following this but I did get a response from them. They told me to register the charger and then they are going to send me a warranty replacement. I told them about the other posters similar experience and if my warranty replacement does the same they are going to have someone look into it.

ditto
Mine does the same thing. Although, i noticed it stayed charging a little longer when the phone was more charged?
Edit: confirmed. I'm actually writing this on my nexus 6 and at 95% I've got the pop'n plugged in. Works like a charm. Too bad I usually want to use it when my phone is dead. Which it doesn't.
I even plugged it in while the phone was off, and I'd initially get the charging black screen, but then nothing. So is it a hardware block of some sort?

Did the warranty replacement work on your N6? I sent them a note last week, and have not heard anything yet.

It did not. I tested further like the other poster and it seemed like if my battery was above ~50% both of them would charge my phone. Anything less then that would stop right away. I wonder if it has anything to do with the turbo charging. Does the phone try to draw to much current when the battery is low and that shuts it off the pop'n?
