Just go to System Updates on your Phone and choose "HTC Software Update" and it will appear there. Just download it directly to your phone. :good: :victory:

I know that. I did it earlier this morning. Steal was asking for the apk to be posted and I looked through my phone and I couldn't find an apk showing anything specifically pertaining the new update.

it should be the Phone.apk
you can either with rootexplorer go to system/app/Phone.apk and copy and paste to sdcard transfer to pc and post or
connect to phone and open a cmd prompt and type
adb remount (enter)
adb pull /system/app/Phone.apk (enter)
Thanks if you need help let me know.

Problem will be we won't have roaming option anymore. I think we need the apk so someone can mod it

The apk that was updates was DMCommandService.apk
It's moved to /data/app/ under a similar name. I already odexed it, and pushed it to /system/app/

No problem. I was looking through them with ROM Toolbox Pro with anything that said Ringtone basically but nothing stood out.
But here's the apk.

I assumed because I fixed ringtones in phone.apk that's what was released, but it is however in dmcommandservice. Which after looking through it its just a patch for phone.apk anyway. Which doesn't make sense why they just would make the fix in phone. Thanks for posting though.

[GUIDE] How to change the Sprint banner using CDMA Workshop

I was looking for a way to change the Sprint banner just like I did with my EVO 4G and I did not find anything specifically for the EVO 3D. Fortunately, the exact same steps to do this for the EVO 4G works with the EVO 3D. I attached some screenshots to show the changes.
apristel said:
What to change the Sprint banner to something else?
Well here is how.
This is a rough guide, maybe I'll get ambitious and spruce it up when I have some more time...
Install HTC Sync if you haven't already..
Get it here.
http://www.htc.com/www/SupportViewNews.aspx?dl_id=933&news_id=631
Gonna need the HTC Diag drivers, least I did... these work fine:
http://rapidshare.com/files/293529424/HTC_Hero_DIAG_Drivers.zip x86 32bit
Here are the /64 bit drivers thanks to techwerkz
http://www.techwerkz.com/evo/HTCDiagDrivers.zip
Mod edit: No linking to warez site or suggesting users to get warez is allowed
Enter DIAG mode, dial ##diag#, let windows install the drivers...most likely it won't find the HTC DIAG drivers, but they are in the link above... get it installed.
Now in CDMA workshop, you really don't want to be effin' with stuff you aren't sure what it is... but we are here to change the banner right? riight so don't be changing anything else and you'll be a-ok.
Select your port, hit connect, hit read... goto the NAM tab...hit Read ...change the Banner from "Sprint" to whatever..hit "Write".... then you can reboot the phone and its done.
To find your port...

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Select your port, hit connect then hit read. ( picture shows "Disconnect" only because I already pushed connect... )
Goto the NAM tab, hit read, change the banner, hit write. Reboot your phone
Enjoy!
Mods if there is a problem with me posting the link to isohunt, I'll gladly remove it.

Where is it? I was unable to find it in the EVO 3D section. And when I searched in the EVO 4G section, i only found the CDMA Workshop method (which worked for me), and the QPST method (which didn't worked for me). I will, of course, add it to the OP as an alternative to CDMA Workshop.
How is it better? This method works great

JsChiSurf hasn't made a thread yet. He's been posting zips in the synergy ROM thread. It's simple, you create 2 files in /system/customize, one called "carrier.txt" and one "lock_carrier.txt" and input your text you want in the file. Then you flash his zips, and boom, done. He doesn't post a lot, so if you just search his username, and then his posts, you'll find it. I can link you zips, but he's made a lot of versions, whether you wanted no bubbles or app text on the lock, whether you want recent apps or clock or transparency in the dropdown, etc. There's like 7 or 8 zips. I guess you could PM me which one you want, and if the zip exists I can link you.

Which part - what scene? Making a flashable zip is easy enough, Just need the proper images and resolution.
Also, need to know the name of the default bootanimation. I think EVO 4G is SPC_bootanimation.zip
and location is: system/customize/resource ?

Do you have root explorer?
If so, go copy your current boot animation and upload it here. Should be in system/customize/resource
Of course it should tell the screen size in the settings.
However, I would prefer the original boot animation if you are able. Because I do not have an EVO. I was just lurking through the new posts and saw this.
May need someone else to make it flashable - but you can always install it through root explorer.

Sorry for not explaining it better.
You must be rooted and have system file access *super user* access.
If you have a file explorer to where you can see system files (Root Explorer, etc.)
You will need to open that app and navigate to system/customize/resource.
In there you should find a file named bootanimation.zip or SPC_bootanimation.zip, something like that.
From there you should be able to copy that file and paste it somewhere on your SD card.
You can pull that file from your SD card to your computer.
There are other ways but this is the simplest since it employs common computer tasks. COPY, PASTE, and transferring files from phone to computer.
Then you can upload it here as an attachment.
Or, if anyone else is reading this, please post the original boot animation from your Phone.
Sh*t i dont have access to a comp right now so ill do it later. Thank you for the help man

What advantages does this hold over the stock MMS apk?
Somewhat off-topic, but has anyone been able to get stock ICS contacts.apk to work on this phone? I have stock Gallery going and had stock MMS (didn't reinstall it when I switched ROMs because I use Go SMS), but for some reason Contacts won't show up in my app drawer or as an installed app period. It was working on 3D so I figured I could just throw it in /system/apps, set permissions, and be off and running. No such luck.
installed, but it still looks the same?
which screen is supposed to be different?
if this will give me stock ics sms/mms that would be awesome.

This is what I hate about all forums like this. I'm not a developer and collect various things from all over the place but have no way of knowing where I got them from. If someone is really looking for something I have that someone else made I post it with a statement something like, "This isn't my work, I have no idea where it came from, take no credit for it and am simply sharing something that was shared with me. If this is your work and want me to update this post to relfect that just let me know." I haven't had any problems yet that I know of!

Yes, do exactly what he said and if the original poster of the files ask you to edit/remove the post just do as he says and you should have no problems
problem with inverted apps is the color choices used. usually based on ics blue. if you didn't know I think almost all gapps is themed if you apply a cm theme. I'm on one from the market and everything is red themed for me.

I'm not sure if there's a difference, but I only tested them on aosp cm9. Can someone else try them on cm9 to see if they work.

OK, think I figured out the issue. The apks have to be moved manually, and then permissions set correctly. Sorry, didn't pay attention when I originally set them up on my phone.

Like I said before, the only Rom I've tested on was cm9. And that was using the 4/21 gapps package that was in the op.

In the past I have found I need to push them into system/app with the terminal emulator and the type "sync" inorder for android to recognize them. Unless I sync they won't load even after a reboot.

That sounds like a lot more work than my way of copy, paste, fix permissions, enjoy. I've even gotten them to work on sense roms every now and then.

Here's a modded version of the latest Google Wallet for those of you getting the "Unfortunately, Google Wallet is not yet available for your device or mobile carrier." The device check is removed.
You will still see unsupported device on rooted devices, but it works perfect.
It will work on any aosp Rom. (Cm10, aokp, paranoid android, codefire x, etc.) Or any sense ROM.
Remove any previous versions of Google Wallet before.
Push apk to /system/app/ and change permissions to rw-r--r--

Edit:
Here's a flashable zip thanks to kaos420: https://www.dropbox.com/s/usx877gnoxdrytw/latest-Patched.Wallet.Deodexed.zip
Be sure to thank him for making lives easier lol.
Thank you sir!
Sweet. Been looking for this.

You guys are gutsy installing a modified app that deals with your credit cards. Is it really worth risking your information being stolen just to remove a small message?

Yes when it doesn't work on the device. This makes it work. All that is modified is the device check check silly.

On a serious note, all that was modified is the device/carrier check. Stock unmodified wallet does not work at all on most aosp and some custom sense ROMs due to build.prop changes and other factors. The message you're referring to is the message of 'unsupported device' from being rooted. You're correct, that does not affect usage.

you sir have no idea what your talking about.
The unsupported device message at the top of the google wallet screen on rooted devices is NOT what we are needing the modified wallet for.
On AOSP the build prop is so different, Google wallet doesnt recognize the device as a supported model, so when you launch wallet, it states not supported and immediately closes the application.
Now you have been educated.

You probably had the "modaco" version which also removed the country check as well as the carrier/device and other checks. I haven't bothered to look and see if the modaco version has been updated but sounds like you may need to wait for it unless someone wants to strip more from here...
not working for me, it's asking me to update after installing the apk :[

In went with the flashable version and it worked like a charm from the get go. Flash, clear dalvik/cache and you should be ready to roll.
