You can refer to this just instead of the given firmware link you have to download a firmware of your country..

Hm. First of all, booting simply means restarting your phone. Reduction of RAM is normal when you update to ICS 4.0 as more memory is required for the system functions which you are not allowed to access.
You can overclock your processor if speed is what you are looking for (but this would require rooting and stuff)
Or if you are adamant on switching back to an older version (which will give you more ram) you can switch back to Gingerbread 2.3.6 which is the version that was in use before ICS 4.0.
Google for Gingerbread 2.3.6 for your phone, or you can check out this link if you like.
Simple process really. The site will ask you to download a file which will contain the gingerbread .tar extension file and odin. Odin is a software through which you can install firmware updates.
So first completely turn off your phone (wait for the vibrate at the end as a confirmation that its completely off)
Next boot your phone into Download Mode. (Press Volume down + the home button/center buttom + power button and hold all 3 for 3 seconds)
Once you are in download mode, open up odin on your computer and connect your phone to you computer via the USB cable. A box on the middle left of odin should turn yellow (if not, the drivers for your mobile are not properly installed on your computer)
Next, click on the PDA button and search for the .tar extension file you downloaded and select it.
Then just hit start.
P.S - Dont tick or untick any boxes in Odin. Leave the default ticked boxes as they are and just hit start.
Once its done, congratulations, your back to 2.3.6 Gingerbread.

how to download and reinstall original firmware on x10.

hi guys, I am a new user from Italy.
I would like to download and reistall the original firmware (android 2.3.3) on my xperia x10i.
I am sorry but I am not an expert, thus I need a guide to follow step by step (idiot proof ).
Again I am sorry if this thread already exists somewhere but I am not able to find it or to understand that it could be useful for me.
Many thanks

-Download frameware 2,3,3 (it's in ftf extension,if not so rename it!)
-Download flash tools pc app (Linux, windows) then install
-Put frimware.ftf to frimware folder of flashtools(it installs by default at drive c:/flashtools)
-turn off your phone
-run flashtools then press lightning button, & choose flash-mode
-select the frimware & press next
-you'll be asked to attaching your phone ,so hold back button then pull USB cable in the phone
-flashtools will do the rest of flashing automatically
Then you can turn it on
#drivers should be installed
#wrong frimware = hard brick
(If this is hard you can use pcc to repair & update your phone to the lates frimware)

Hi and welcome to xda!
If you wish to revert back to the stock GB firmware this is the easiest way if you to do so:
1. Turn your device off. If you for some reason can't turn your phone off properly then pull the battery out and wait 10 seconds.
2. If you took your battery out then put it back in. Do not turn your phone on and open SEUS (Sony PC Companion) on your PC (you can download it from the Sony website or simply google it).
3. Click on Support Zone > Phone / Tablet Software Update > repair my phone / tablet > follow instructions and connect the phone in flashmode when asked for (it will tell you how to do that).
4. Wait till SEUS does it thing and tells you that everything is successfully done. DO NOT DISCONNECT THE PHONE FROM YOUR PC WHILE MAKING A SOFTWARE REPAIR!
5. You should be able to use your phone with the stock GB ROM installed.

[HOW-TO] Unbrick your XZU

If your XZU freezes / restarts while booting, it's probably soft-bricked (in fact it's almost impossible to hard-brick it). Use this guide for a clean restore:
- internal data will be wiped
- no root required
- no unlocked bootloader required
- Windows is required
Download Flashtool: link to krabappel2548's post
Install Flashtool
Install drivers using the Flashtool-drivers.exe which is located inside the "driver"-folder of the installation path of Flashtool. Include the flashmode, the fastboot and the XZU drivers.
Download or build a full stocked FTF firmware file fitting your model. Choose Method A (fast) or B (recommended):
Method A (fast): Download a complete FTF-file from the XDA forum (for example link for C6833 or link for C6802 or search the forum for a up to date firmware fitting your model). Move the FTF-file to the "firmwares"-folder of the installation path of Flashtool.
- or -
Method B (recommended): Build your own .FTF file with the newest official stocked firmware:
Install Sony PC Companion: link
Do not connect your smartphone to your pc. Start Sony PC Companion, choose "Support Zone", start the software update. Click on repair and accept everything on the following dialogues. Sony PC Companion will start downloadng the newest firmware.
When the download is finished, exit Sony PC Companion. Use the search function of windows to locate a folder named "blob_fs". This is the place where Sony PC Companion dumped the downloaded firmware. You need 4 files named "FILE_XXXXXXXXX", which have different numbers and no filename extension. There are two small files < 1 mb, one medium sized (circa 20 mb) and one big file ( > 700 mb). Ignore the ICON_ files.
Start flashtool.
Choose Tools > SEUS Decrypt. Choose the "blob_fs" folder as source. Convert the 4 files. Wait until the Bundler dialogue pops up. Content everything you just decrypted and fill in the three fields (Device, Branding and Version). Click on "Create". Wait until it's finished. You will find your fresh FTF file in the "firmwares"-folder of the installation path of Flashtool. Leave the file where it is.
Now it's time to flash the FTF on your XZU. Start flashtool if you haven't yet.
Turn off your XZU and wait at least 5 seconds. If you cannot turn off your XZU, hold the power- and volume-up-button at the same time for 3 seconds. Your XZU will vibrate briefly and poweroff. Or push the button inside the Micro SIM card slot: link to Kiwi Tech video. If you choose the last method, don't forget to leave a youtube comment on Kiwi Tech's video declaring war on his overlong intro
Plug in a fitting USB cabel to a USB 2.0 port of your PC. Do not use a USB 3.0 port. Enter Flashmode: Hold down the volume-down-button and connect your XZU to the prepared USB cabel. You can release the button when the LED lights up.
Flashtool will notice your XZU in flashmode (check log). If not, reinstall the drivers using Flashtool-drivers.exe. Inside flashtool, click on the lighting symbol. Choose Flashmode.
Choose a full FTF firmware & click on "Flash". Wait until it's finished.
Your XZU is now unbricked. Have fun
I got my Z1 Ultra today, unlocked bootloader and tried to get root following "[HOW-TO] ROOT 14.1.B.2.257 and poosibly newer Sony Roms"
I screwed it up and the phone boot looped. I now realize flashtool was at fault refusing flashing stuff. I reinstalled it lots and then installed it one more time with version .12
I tried flashing and now it finally flashes the newest firmware!
I guess my phone will be okey now .

Yep, phone works.
Thanks for this thread.
If I go with method B how I know that it will download the latest firmware for XZU not for any other sony phone.

After decrypting you will get a elabel .sin-file, which includes information about the firmware version (for example "elabel-C6833-row_201310161732.1_14.1.B.2.257_XXX"). During the repairing process of the Sony Pc Companion a screen will pop up and asks you to choose your smartphone modell. But at that point your download is already finished, which is quiet confusing too me. For me it worked perfectly and the built FTF file got the estimated file size (circa 780 mb). Maybe someone can test method B to the point where you decrypt the files and tell me if he got the fitting elabel.sin?

[SOLVED] U20i - Going back to stock software/firmware in 2019

I've had a little nightmare and spent a whole day trying to get this ancient Xperia X10 Mini Pro (U20i) to the stock software, so I thought I would share with you how to do it in case anyone needs to do the same. (In my case I did this to get £100 cashback trading in the U20i for a new phone -- with according to T&C could not have modified software)
So what you need is:
- A copy of the U20i firmware, this comes on an FTF bundle to flash with Flashtool - Get these from here (Live June 2019): https://www.mediafire.com/folder/m07tam9mit6jj/X10_Mini_Pro_(U20)
- An old version of FlashTool (as the latest does not work with the U20i and other older phones), this link has the flashtool-0.9.0.0 for windows: https://drive.google.com/uc?id=0B8HYFIy2LVm5OUVxczI0WEdIbjg&export=download
The process is pretty simple:
1 - Install FlashTool 0.9.0.0 in Windows
2 - Once installed go to the drivers folder and install the drivers for U20i/your phone + flashmode & fastboot
3 - Place the FTF file downloaded from above in the 'firmwares' folder.
4 - Press the first icon (lighting icon) and connect using 'Flashmode', the program will tell you how and what to press.
5 - Select the U20i stock software (that you downloaded and put in the folder as per step 3) from the list
6 - Press flash and cross ya fingers!
NOTE: THIS SOFTWARE IS ONLY VALID FOR U20i BASEBAND M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404015
If you flash it to any other phone/baseband you will brick it. However, use these instructions to fetch your own software for other models. GL with that as most links seem broken!

Found an old Xperia mini in the trash and the phone seems to be soft bricked, stuck in sony ericsson bootloop, tried everything i could think of. Found a .FTF file for it and tried flashing it with flashtool, flashtool says its flashing but nothing happens. Also tried all versions of xperia/sony ericsson PC companion for a normal software repair, but nothing seems to support this phone anymore. I could of course buy a working version of this phone for about 2-3 bucks on ebay but where's the fun in that? I've been playing around with android phones a lot in the past but I cant figure out how to proceed with this one.
I followed your guide, but flashtool (v0.9 something) doensnt find the .ftf file in flashmode, I can only install via .img, .sin and something else in fastboot mode. Flashtool recognizes the phone correctly both in flashmode and fastboot mode but doesnt seem to do anything.
Any pro tips on how to proceed? Thanks
