I've searched.
My note was running flapjaxx b5(lf6) with teamwin recovery 2.2.2.
Yesterday my phone just rebooted..after that my phone will not enter recovery...I get a pulsating vibrate when trying to enter... Black screen ...Now I can get to download mode but literally for only a few seconds...with or without jig...screen goes black then pulsating vibrate
Is there anything else that can be done

How do you boot the EVO 3D into recovery? I tried the method used for the EVO 4G with no luck. I also can't find the answer anywhere.
Does fast boot have to be turned off to do this?

Setings/power/fastboot. Uncheck fastboot then it will work.

You can also simply pick Reboot off of the power menu and as soon as the bottom leds turn off, hold the volume down rocker.
If your phone starts vibrating like crazy then you held volume down too soon, but it will still go.
But yea, this is an side effect of fast boot, because the phone is doing a warm boot not a cold boot. Or of course you can pull the battery, but that can be a pain.
I got it booted into recovery and now it's stuck on a screen with a phone and a red triangle exclamation!
Crap, still stuck on this screen.... HELP

Because you don't have a custom recovery, because the phone is not rooted

OK, now I feel like a noob. I rooted my HTC EVO 4G the first day I got it, so I guess I was spoiled and I assumed backup/restore was built into the phone already.
So the red triangle upon recovery boot is normal?

Yes, its normal. If you were to return your evo 4g to complete stock, and tried to boot into recovery, you'd end up with the same result

trying to root a friends gs2 i777 and after using odin to run the tar file, it started to reboot and has been stuck on the samsung logo for about 30 minutes now. i was just told that he is still on froyo so i think that had something to do with it but he is no longer using an at&t sim card so it wouldnt let him upgrade to 2.3 over the air. but i am stuck at the logo screen and tried to reboot back into stock recovery and it gets stuck at the logo still. please someone help

I did that and it just boots back into the Samsung logo
Hold power down and volume down and plug it in for download mode and flash a kernel that can wipe and install.

Or if at bar.....
Hold all three buttons till Samsung appears and dissapears then let go of all three to get into recovery menu to see if you have a kernel.... then wipe clear data and reflash.

The i777 NEVER had Froyo. It was released with GB 2.3.4. When trying to root "a friends" phone it's best to have read everything and be prepared if things go wrong. Its a hard sell, when you trying to explain why their phone is borked. Also I find Heimdall a bit easier to use than Odin.
Nobody seems to be asking the obvious question: are you positive this is an I777, and not another variant of the S2, like a skyrocket, our even the 1900?
Take out the battery and look at the label under the battery. what model does it say the phone is?
I agree with wgoldfarb, I very nearly did the same thing to my work phone a few months back. It was in a ballistic case, and I couldn't tell the difference until I opened it and held it side by side with my i777,but it turned out it was an older infuse. $20 says that if he's positive he had froyo, it's the same situation.

Sorry, but drunk posting from a bar about trying to root a phone, but not being sure what phone it is (again, it never had 2.2...), has no place on this forum..
Recently I have unrooted my device and and used Kies to get on Stock 4.0.4...My problem is when I hold the power button down, I get no options at the power down menu..the phone just shuts off and I have to power back up to turn it on. Also, there is no lock screen on my device. Please help me. I am not looking for a temporary fix like "Download GoLauncher EX..I know that works for a lock screen, but I would like to use the one intended for the phone. Thank you ahead of time for your help! I greatly appreciate it!

Anybody else able to help me????
The bad flash theory is the best answer. Just reflash.
I have an HTC Amaze.
It boots fine although I see no logo or anything until I have to press the power button to turn screen off and back on to see lockscreen.
Tried the AIO kit to unlock bootloader and all that jazz. I get nowhere, says everything is done and then nothing is different except on the first
reboot it shows a green circle with arrows then moves to a red traingle with an exclamation point in the middle.
I have tried to put the RUU on the EXTERNAL SD and boot into HBOOT. Guess what, HBOOT is NOT there somehow. I can hold the volume down button and the power button down for the whole Obama administration and still get no HBOOT, not sound, boot, or vibtration, I can press these buttons in any combination known to man and still get no HBOOT. The AIO kit cannot boot me into HBOOT either.
I have tried the unbrick project instructions using Linux and my phone is not recognizeable apparently becuase it is not bricked per say.
All I want is to unlock this bootloader and load a custom ROM to improve some things like EXTREME lag and horrible battery life.
I have completed the AIO kit STEP BY STEP, HTC DEV UNLOCK ID and ALL....... Does anyone have any solid firsthand experience with these issues? Is my screen simply not working? If that is the case can you let me know which button combinations are required to have this RUU read and loaded in HBOOT if it is simply from me not being able to see the HBOOT screen.

Do a 60-sec battery pull.
Then WITHOUT pushing ANY buttons (incl soft-keys/touching the screen), put it back together & charge it. Overnight. With an AC-plug adapter.

I have completed this as well, many times at this point. I REALLY appreciate everyones help and now you are starting to see why I am so frustrated.
Hook it up to the computer and try installing hboot using adb

what he said! honestly bypass any program and do adb commands to see.
I'm a electronics tech. and I've noticed a problem like that before. one of which was water damaged which was shorting out 2 pins on the lcd connector.
The other would only enter bootloader when using adb only

So your phone is 100% charged?
Because there is an issue with the Amaze that causes the exact black-screen behavior you have, caused by a dead battery getting stuck in a deadlock-condition between the power-on routine & the charging routine.
Yes 100%. How do I install hboot using adb? Any step by step process I can follow? Thank you.

Jvamps, the water damage sounds like a possibility. It's like everything is perfect but I just can't see hboot. When I boot normally I don't see anything until I notice the soft key bleedthrough then I press the power key to turn off screen and press it again and voila the lock screen. I don't see the boot screen at all.
