Let me start by apologizing if this is already covered, but I have been searchin high and low without result!
I have just flashed the new Jelly Bean Poland ROM! Working like a treat!
BUT... Then I realised that Kies won't find any updates anymore! =(
So I tried to downgrade to Stock 4.0.4. I tried more versions, but all ended up in a bootloop!
So I am looking for a stock ICS 4.0.4 unbranded (Danish) version to flash, so I can get the OTA update when it starts rolling out her in Denmark!
What I had before flashing to JB was:
AP: I9300XXBLH3
CP: I9300XXLH1
CSC: I9300NEEBLH2
Anyone who can guide me in the right direction ?

Unfortunately I still have that bootloop! (Only on 4.0.4 - NOT on 4.1.1)
Maybe I will have to do a full wipe ?

Sorry if it sounds like a stupid question. When I first bought my UK unlocked I9100, it had Gingerbread on it. I then upgraded to the stock 4.0.3 ICS and then rooted with CF-Root v.5.4 LP7 as per instructions posted here on XDA.
Here are my current stats now...

Yesterday, I got an automatic notification on my phone telling me there is a software update. I'm assuming this is the same thing as the stock 4.0.4 firmware posted on these forums...

Can I upgrade by hitting OK on the phone to the automatic update or by doing it through Kies? Will it break the root, or worse screw up the phone because it was rooted? If it just undoes the root without doing damage, how would I re-root? If it keeps the root intact, that would be the ideal situation.

It will break root. But if you make update, never use CWM on stock kernel (hardbrick bug enabled).
You can re-root by flashing CF-Root.

Thanks for the quick reply. So if I stick with stock firmwares and CF-root, I don't have to worry about bricking, right? I assume the instructions in the first post of this thread is what I need to follow...

From what I understand, I can either upgrade via Kies or flash the same firmware that's listed in the forums. And then when I root, I take it I follow these steps...
Instructions For Rooting ICS :
Extract the Rooted Kernel
Open the included Odin
Put your device into Download MODE
Click PDA and select CF-Root-SGS2_*-v5.3-CWM5.tar
Then finally click START!

Hello, i want to get back to normal ICS rom and i've got a small problem with it... I'm not sure what version i should download. There are many and i don't know how to check it. I've installed a few roms already and i think all that model data is messed up. For sure my model is gt-9300 but that's all i know. i know that my other data is:

CP: I9300XXDLIB
CSC: I9300OXFDLI1
I've bought it from "phones4u" in UK and when i messed up with custom rom i had to install clear rom which was I9300XXDLH8_I9300OXADLH8_I9300XXLH8_BTU.zip. And i found it using my OLD CSC on webpage with s3 roms. Now i'm downloading Jellybean for my actual CSC and it's from Poland. Any ideas if it will work? I'd prefere to download ICS because of root ability. Which rom should i download?

Yes use the 4.1.2 BTU version from sammobile.

Ok I went to update my phone through kies and forgot that i have a different kernal than before. Kies told me i cant update through it. I assume thats cause im using a different kernal.
Here is the details from my phone.
Model - GT-I9100
Android Version - 4.0.4
Baseband Version - I9100XXLQ6
Kernal Version - 3.0.15-I9100XWLPT-CL941023
Build Number - IMM76D.XWLPT
I am locked on O2 UK i think.
I have noticed since flashing this kernal last july that my phone performance has been poor in terms of it switching off by itself and so on.
What I want to know is how can i get the original firmware back on my phone so i can update via kies. And I also want to know how to install Jelly Bean on this phone and how I go about it?
Can anyone help?

i have found out that the latest rom O2 UK has released is android 4.0.4
you can download the firmware from here

You will have to flash that with Odin, just unzip the file and put it in the pda section on Odin.
After that kies should be able to recognize your phone,
if you want to update to 4.0.4 from kies you will have to pick an earlier firmware from

same precedure as above for flashing it, i have not used kies since i bought my gs1 2 years ago but i believe it will work

no, just Ice Cream Sandwich, but it is stock Touchwiz. (Samsung Rom)
but the Jelly Bean update must be around the corner i guess.
if not you could allways flash a stock Samsung JellyBean rom that is open for europe,
the main difference may be a different modem and that there is no O2 apps prebaked into the Rom.
i think the one for nordic counties should work well since you are in the uk,

What will the difference in modems do? Will there be any affect on what I can do with my phone?
What is the modem for? Internet connection i take it?
Kies doesn't let you update with the nordic counties rom at all. But it works sweet on my S2 so I'm happy.
