Nope non at all, I'm using it pa, jb, GB and ICS fine, no issues at all, I get no errors when using bootmanager and it trys to edit boot.img where as I was on 1.49.0053 hboot
To a point though some kernels do not play nice with hboots not compatible with the kernel. Otherwise you would end up in a boot loop.

Yeah what your saying is true, but that's only with hboots above 1.49.***

Hey so I know that there was already a forum about battery life on the Rezound, but it was a bit outdated when it came to sense 4 roms. (S-OFF)
Here is so far my best combination to get the best battery!
Flash the newest leak here
http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/0...-0-3-for-the-htc-rezound-includes-new-radios/
twice by placing it in the root of your SD card and entering fastboot. Make sure to flash this twice!
Then I did a factory reset just to be safe. Flash the correct recovery you want then install the AWESOME team PkMN Rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1630696
MAKE SURE TO KEEP THE KERNEL from the rom! It runs smooth and super cool
So far im at 73% with 6 hours, which may not seem like much; but it was way much more than what I was getting before

What did you do about the rom installing its kernel when you flashed it? You removed it?
That ROM doesn't create the phxxx file to flash so there is nothing to erase.
So in otherwords u would flash the Rom then the flash the latest update, bc if u r soff pkmn Rom installs old kernal.

Since we are now S-OFF we no longer need the PBxxx.img file to reboot into bootloader to install the kernel.
the kernel gets installed with the ROM.
you also don't need to worry about kernels when doing a nandroid back-up from say, ICS to a GB ROM, any more.
so to the OP, you are running the older kernel, unless you installed the new leak kernel afterwards, which I would like to know if you did, because I tried running the newest leak boot.img(kernel) on the PkMn ROM and it wouldn't boot.
i believe that in scott's thread to the stock rooted version of the latest update he has the PH98IMG that is the kernel. You could just install PKMN and then install that throught the HBoot

i'm gonna try it now. I have S-off on the phone by default so i hope it works lol. i'll let ya know in a few if i have the same results. I was thinking that would work but i may be wrong....
Yes like Andy said, if you're s off the kernel is flashed from recovery when you flash the rom. That's what I was asking if you removed but that answered my question. I was thinking there was a ramdisk difference in the sense 4 kernel and the stock sense 3.6 kernel. I know you said you flashed the RUU like you would for s on, but since theres an "(S-OFF)" in your post I was thinking you were s off and flashed the pokemon kernel with the rom, which would just mean that you're loving the same kernel everybody else is running who hasn't run the lasted leak hboot update.
It's scary that people just flash away without knowing what their doing...

I would think it wouldnt boot for anybody. The pokemon rom is sense 4, so you need a sense 4 kernel. The latest leak is a sense 3.6 kernel. In theory it shouldnt work at all.
If you do exactly what the OP says, step by step, the pokemon rom overwrites the latest leak rom and its kernel in its entirety. so he is just running pokemon rom.

I agree, but it's a lot less harmful is you're s-off. The only thing that can really hurt you are radios and bootloader. S-on is a different story.

S-on is almost completely safe ... that's why htc did the dev unlock!
With s-off there are way more ways to brick your phone it doesn't do any checking to see if things are signed or work or anything... that is not safer than s-on.
If you don't know what your doing htc dev unlock is a perfectly fine option.
If your not running the newest kernel then the radios must be what are really making the difference

Sorry! Whoops I meant to say keep kernel from ROM. Sorry guys! Should have checked my post before
and even more,
"It turns out that this doesn't include new radios after all."
from android police
Which means that the it's just the ROM after all!
I guess this thread can be deleted then

unless he didn't flash the last RUU, the radios are the same from the last leak.
I'm still a noob when it comes to Android. My 3D had a 1.30 hboot, and I rooted it with Revolutionary the day it was released back last summer.
So I had been using the ICS CM9 rom that was first released several months ago (actually my phone was sitting in my drawer as I was waiting on an official ICS update)
Anyway I flashed PG86IMG.zip from Virus
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=29613228#post29613228
and followed all the steps. Everything went smoothly.
Now I wanted to return to CM9 or any other non-sense rom so I could use a bluetooth wiimote since I heard HTC sense roms don't support the proper BTstack.
Every time I flash any of those roms, they end in endless boot loops. CM9 Devil Toast, CM10, none of them work. I do superwipe and everything. The only roms that work are sense based. How do I fix this?
My Hboot is now 1.58. It says ***LOCKED*** with "SHOOTER XC SHIP S-OFF RL". I heard this doesn't mean anything because I'm still rooted with S-Off, but why can't I flash those roms anymore? I want to play some GBA with the WiiMote.
I can't seem to find exact info on my problem. I know I should ask in Virus' thread, but his roms are working fine.
Thanks.
I'd say just run a 2.17 firmware zip through fastboot

You should be able to just flash a different Hboot. There is a thread in the Dev section with the 1.40 and the Eng 1.04 Hboots. Just flash and you can go back.
From what I understand you cannot run AOSP or older Sense builds on the newer Hboot currently.
hey all,
just wondering why on some roms do i need hboot 1.58?
im currently on jbear hboot something, wont that be compatable with all roms?
thanks

1.58 hboot is ONLY compatible with the ICS rom and kernel. If you want to go back to a GB rom for example, you will have to downgrade your hboot.
Does the new firmware play nice with older gb roms? I havnt tried it out yet just curious.

Yes, except for the 1.58 bootloader which is technically part of the firmware.

Are there any aosp ROMs that will work with the new firmware/boot? If not how can I install a lower boot to work with them?

Nope. Just senseless ROMs. If you want an AOSP ROM just downgrade. Its not hard at all.

If your signature is current and you are still S-ON the only way to change bootloader is to flash an RUU. If you plan on changing bootloaders in the future it would be better to get S-OFF and then you can change pretty easily whenever you want.

Alright I'm having a few problems where no matter what Rom or kernel I install, I'm constantly getting lag and stutters. It's very annoying cause its every Rom I've flashed. Rite now I'm on cleanrom pro latest version. I've tried the one in ky Sig, cm9, slim Rom, vigor360, Nile business 3.6 and 4, rezrom, etc. I've tried a lot and all preform the same. They all lag. How can I fix this? Maybe update ruu or something? I have the latest recovery and hboot. This is getting extremely annoying now because its every Rom. I'm planning clean Rom and funky kernel as my daily driver. I have force gpu rendering enabled. Pls help. Getting extremely annoying. Ppl with the same setup don't have this problem. And yes I wipe EVERYTHING when I flash New roms and cache boot and delvik when I flash kernels.

Well it depends if you want OTA or global, I recommend the global radios since thats what most people are using now. Find the RUU which should be 4.03.605.2 and then place it on your the root of your SD as PH98IMG.zip and then it will flash.

Well I haven't run an ruu while s-off before but I would backup your internal sd just in case. Oh also it flashes in hboot as well dont try to flash in recovery.

Hboot and let it run twice on its own
Then I always do a factory reset and then after that you will have to load a custom recovery again so you can run a custom rom
This will not work if you used the HTC Bootloader unlock tool. Your device must be fully stock with a locked bootloader or you must have S-Off (method). Installing the RUU will wipe your data.
I'm s-off unlocked by HTC boot loader, so I can tdo it? If I can, will Ihave to unlock and s-off again?
