Hi all, was hoping y'all could help with my problem. I have a problem with receiving SMSes. Calls and everything works fine, and I can send out SMSes, but I just can't receive it occasionally. I'll have to restart my phone before I can receive anything. And it's a on-off kinda thing.
The last time I remembered not having this problem was when I before I flashed JB AOKP. CM9/10 gives me the same problem, and I'm now back on stock (676.226.3.XT910.Retail.en.EU), but still occasionally encounter the problem.
Any idea why? Been trawling through the forums, but no avail.
Same thing started to happen to me occasionally after the ICS update. I am on stock ics on European unbranded razr maxx. I read on forums that it may be caused by me running the update with the sim inside the phone. I went and changed the sim. It still has happened once since the sim change two weeks ago.

Hi guys. For some reason my phone keeps losing its reception, and no calls are being made. It keeps saying call ended... Its not my sim card cuz it works fine with my other phone, so it has to do with this phone. Any one experienced this or can help?
It just randomly started

any changes made recently? new FW, new apps, new widgets that control 2g/3g?
ive not had any similar problems, but just tryin to give a few suggestions
good luck!
Try the soft reset or repair via SEUS.
Mine started having Wi-Fi issues today (it wouldn't connect to the wireless network, with or without encription).
Did the soft reset, now it's working.
Weird bugs, I guess
You're holding it wrong... Also try wrapping some gaffer tape around the outside edge. Sorry they're no longer giving away free bumper cases...
Edit:
...Sorry, I thought this was the iPhone 4 forum.

I have had the same issue intermittently since I got the phone. Tried a restore and a newer fw. Didn't help, I'm waiting a bit longer and sending it off for warranty. A few of my friends have x10s also and haven't had this problem...

You still have this problem Shukla? Mine started doing this today too..
For some reason my rooted stock S2 (from Bell unlocked using on Rogers) can't answer calls. I can call out without any problems but if someone is calling me, it'll hang up on them as soon as I answer. They then get a busy signal.
Any ideas?

Can't find phone.apk.... I deleted the cache of dialer.apk and the problem still remains. I also completely turned off call blocking and everything.
When I answer a call, it immediately disconnects.
This is interesting to hear. My wife and i are both on rogers. She has a rooted and rommed captivate and i have a rooted and rommed nexus s. We are both having the same issues for that last couple days. Weird stuff. Never happened before.
I put my SIM card into my wife's S2 (also stock and rooted) and it works properly. Accepts incoming calls. So it must be something with my device specifically and not network related. Strange... I've removed any possible suspect apps to no avail so far. Perhaps a core app update is the culprit.
Ya I am confused lol. I have been on the same rom for a few weeks now. Just started happening to both of us all of a sudden. Not sure if it is a certain app that we both have installed and its screwing up our phones? Just not sure at all.

Please let me know if you find a solution. I am trying a few things but no luck
I've been having the same issue with incoming calls all weekend, in my case I was able to rule out hardware by swapping SIMs with another Rogers phone.
On the phone a few times with Rogers Tec Support and I was told this was an issue on their end, from what I'm told it's related to the Rogers One Number service which I did register for a couple of months back. Although I don't use the RON service anymore it's still active on my account.
I just had Tec Support remove it from my account and am just now getting my incoming calls again.

This may be it. I recently signed up for Rogers One Number but never use it. That's the difference me and the wife's S2. She's not registered for One Number. Hmmmm..... But it's weird that my SIM accepts incoming calls on her device though.

I've been using my new unlocked S on AT&T for a few days now, and people have been trying to call me, but it never shows up on my phone. However, it only happens sometimes. I could receive a call from someone at a certain time, and then one hour later not receive that same person's call. In addition, many texts I receive are delayed from anywhere between 5 minutes and one hour. I noticed that it seems like the phone's radio goes "inactive", causing these issues, as when I used my phone to open up the Facebook app, as soon as it began loading the content my phone exploded with texts sent half an hour before. Finally, and I'm not sure if this is related to these issues, but I've noticed that my phone's clock falls ahead or behind ten minites , causing me to have to manually reset it. This happens at least once a day. I've turned off the set automatically feature as the network time is apparently ten minutes ahead of the real time.
These kinds of issues (besides the clock resetting) aren't new to this phone; I had an Xperia Play for the past week and it too would delay texts, however it wouldn't send texts at all. I live right in the middle of AT&T's large 4G area in Phoenix, what could be the problem?

Try repairing the phone through update service or PCC.

I have same problem like you ( sim unlocked) buyed in germany using on t-mobile in croatia.
First try to contact your operator and check if 2g and 3g work properly.
I had to write multiple numbers who try to contact me, when, and from where, as well where i was in that time..
For now we cant figure out if it is phone problem, software problem or simply their false..
And i know is really anoying when you have phone turned on all the time and when somebody try to call it says is off..
I had few emercgeny calls so i missed them as well...

But since I've experience similar issues using different phones, doesn't that pretty much eliminate the possibility of it being a problem with the phone?

Please, someone help me? The time is constantly resetting itself and I'm pretty much not getting any texts or calls anymore. Weirdly, if someone texts me a bunch and I don't get them, if I call them and start talking, my phone explodes with every single text message I didn't get. Kind of inconvenient to have to call someone to check my texts.

I remember there was a similar problem with o2x and cm7. It was solved by turning of automatic time update in settings. Maybe it works for this phone too..
I rooted my phone using the latest Regawmod method last week. Everything worked great until a couple days ago, when I was no longer able to make phone calls, receive them, send text messages, or receive them. My 3g still works fine. I then un-rooted my phone and put everything back to stock in plans to take it back to Sprint. Not long after the phone started working, and I was able to make phone calls again. So I used the latest Regawmod method again and rooted my phone again. Immediately after rooting the phone I was no longer able to make phone calls again. Please let me know if anyone has heard of this or has any ideas or suggestions. Thanks.
This is development related how? Wrong section mate.

Have you tried updating profile and prl? A few days ago I flashed a cm10 build and couldn't send text or receive text. So I ended up flashing back to a sense ROM. Updated profile and prl then restored the cm10 build and it fixed my problem.

JDM is right you have to update at least your profile or your phone tries to through hands free activation again... I had the same problem when I rooted using the same method...

Thanks, for y'alls help. I went ahead and took my phone to sprint since they said there was nothing wrong with the towers over the phone. Soon as I got there, they told me it was a known problem and that many people in my area are experiencing the same problem. So now I just have to sit and wait for everything to start working again.
Thank you for taking time to read this.
On Feb 16th 2013 my AT&T Note stopped receiving SMS messages. I could send but not receive. MMS worked just fine sending and receiving. I am running the following (all stock, no mods done to the phone at all, using default messaging app)
OS version 4.0.4
Base band Version I171UCLF6
Kernel Version 3.0.8
Build Number IMM76D.UCLF6
I contacted AT&T Help(less) desk about the issue. After several troubleshooting steps nothing was resolved. A second level ticket was opened. Two days later my phone started buzzing like crazy for a while as I received all the texts that had been waiting (104 one after another). I had no issues after that until two days ago. When the same exact thing started happening.
Contacted AT&T again to try to get them to resolve this issue once more. This time the agent wanted me to do a factory reset. I told her that is not the issue and directed her to the earlier problem. She told me that this is a different issue and that she would do nothing more unless I reset my phone to factory.
Now today I got 68 messages all at once. But the problem still exists. I sent a test message to my wife and her response sent but was never received.
This sounds like an ATT server issue and not your phone. Are you using the stock messaging app?
Agreed, the problem is on their side. These network issues clear up in a day or two.
