If your tablet is already rooted, do not select 1 Root device; instead, select 3 * Custom ROM and Flashing [SUBMENU] from the AiO tool's main menu and then follow the instructions provided in several posts in this forum.
To fix the Sony Tablet S device problem: in your computer's Device Manager, right-click on the Sony Tablet S device and select Update Driver Software.

[Q] xUltimate failing

Hey all. I'm trying to deodex my stock rom on my at&t motorola atrix 2, running ics leak #1. I run xUltimate (v: 2.4) and all goes well, until i get to option 3 (deodex apps). It fails on ContactsProvicer2_0, and attached is the screenshot of it. Any help would be appreciated.
Also, sorry if this was in the wrong section. Mods, move it if need be.
Hi,
I want to deodex my stock rom, ICS 4.0.4, Alcatel OT 992D, MT6577 1gHz dualcore, rooted, with busybox and TWRP recovery. I have a Windows 8 64bit instaled on my laptop. Using xUltimate 2.4.2, trying also with xUltimate 2.4, but without a succses in both case. When I connect phone and pc via usb, run as administrator main.exe from /C:/xUltimate, I got message below:
Code:
* Checking Script Version.... *
* Checking Phone ROM Build.... *
* Waiting for Phone... *
adb server is out of date. killing...
* daemon started successfully *
and that's it, nothing hapends just staying forewer. I think that I have ADB driver, cause ADB and android SDK working. If I typing:
Code:
adb shell
su
from platform-tools, I got a message "shell has been granted superuser permission" on my phone display. Also, I can run comands such a "reboot", "bootanimation", etc.
Please, tell me and help me, how to run xUltimate with succes, and where is my mistake. If you need some kind of log, just tell me whichone and how to generate and I'll upload.
Thanks advance.

Rooting GS4

Hi, I'm trying to root my galaxy s4.. I'm on a mac and doing this through a windows VM. Odin works fine, but when I run the motochopper bat file all I get is..
[*]
[*] Press enter to root your phone...
Press any key to continue . . .
[*]
[*] Waiting for device...
* daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037 *
* daemon started successfully *
And nothing more... has someone else had success doing this on a mac or did I forget to do a critical step?
Youre doing fine. Once that comes up, check your phone. You should have a popup asking you to confirm the RSA fingerprint. Confirm it and the process should get going.

[Q] How to Root the Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet SGP 521?

Hi Guys, I read a followed the instructions (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2708194) on how to root the SGP 521, but no good results so far. I want to root it without unlock the boot loader to be able to do a TA backup. My experience on rooting is almost zero, but did it with my old Samsung Galaxy Note tablet and the Galaxy S2. Now everything is different from back then so I would like to get assistance on how to.
- I did download and installed on Windows 7 Pro the Easy Rooting Toolkit V17 & V18.
- Allowed unknown installation from the SGP 521
- Activated USB debugging on the SGP 521, Developer settings.
- Run the easy root tool and followed and the tool instructions.
- Rebooted the SGP 521 before connecting via USB to the PC.
- Run the Easy root tool, then it connects but nothing happened.
I repeated the above procedures a couple of times, but same result. I would value your help on how to root it appropriately. Thanks in advance!
My not be helpful but I had a similar problem and realised that when I ran the tool there was a pop-up on my z2 which I had to acknowledge... Might help might not thought I'd share

Could you be more explicit on the "nothing happened" did you had a message from easy root tool? Make sure you have the admin rights when you start Easy root tool.

I run the tool as admin first. But once I followed all required steps and run the tool, it closed it self. Then I run as regular (no admin rights) and followed the required steps. The tool connected the tablet and then stayed with a cursor blinking and doing nothing. I though I could be EMET (Microsoft tool) installed on my PC, so I uninstalled. But after done, nothing changed.

Perhaps check if you have drivers installed correctly and has no any other usb software running when you try root your device.

All drivers for the tablet are installed correctly. I can see the tablet connected on connection icons as well as in the devices admin setting from PC.
I will re-run the tool again & will post more details on what happens. Maybe there is something I am not doing right...

You may also try to run androxyde's flashtool which forces adb connection and also shows if your device is connected correctly. You have usb debucking on?

Thank you all! I finally got my tablet rooted. I did use the method advised by Pec74: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2784900
I also got the new July firmware update from Sony so I decided to updated and I re-rooted the tablet with no problems. I still have problems with mirroring the tablet to TV. Any suggestions for a room which will fix this problem? Thanks all again! :fingers-crossed:

Do not forget to do a backup of your ROM now in case you have a problem. You can use rom manager

Get logcat and a usage statistics with adb

Hello,
I'm new here and I would like to know if someone can help me with adb.
I want to use it to get a logcat and also a usage statistics.
So the problem is, I've setup adb and I've installed my phone's driver (Samsung) but when I try to list my device using "adb devices" I get this:
* daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037 *
* daemon started successfully *
and then it doesn't show me my device. So can I please get a solution for that?
Thank you so much!
It's seems like the forum is empty? I've wrote three posts so far and I don't get any comments. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong

try to reinstall the drivers, might you installed wrong drivers . also i think you should post this on your device's forum.
What is your device tho ?
I'll try to reinstall the driver. But I do know it's the right one, I've also tried to restart my computer. I have an old Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo Plus. So I think it's forum won't be as active as this one. And the problem can relate to any Android phone, it has more to do with adb and the driver maybe.
Thank you for your comment!
