Hello,
I'm new here and I would like to know if someone can help me with adb.
I want to use it to get a logcat and also a usage statistics.
So the problem is, I've setup adb and I've installed my phone's driver (Samsung) but when I try to list my device using "adb devices" I get this:
* daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037 *
* daemon started successfully *
and then it doesn't show me my device. So can I please get a solution for that?
Thank you so much!
It's seems like the forum is empty? I've wrote three posts so far and I don't get any comments. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong

try to reinstall the drivers, might you installed wrong drivers . also i think you should post this on your device's forum.
What is your device tho ?
I'll try to reinstall the driver. But I do know it's the right one, I've also tried to restart my computer. I have an old Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo Plus. So I think it's forum won't be as active as this one. And the problem can relate to any Android phone, it has more to do with adb and the driver maybe.
Thank you for your comment!

hi guys, i got my new htc hero yesterday...
i want to root, flash, etc...
can anyone help me where to start???
i am running windows 7 x64 and already got the x64 drivers someone made. the device is installed when connecten.
i really am confused on how to begin with whatever...
what do i do first? recovery image, then root, unlock spl then custom rom/apps/etc?
but how do i flash the recovery rom because when i enter the first command to enter bootloader it says:
* daemon not running. starting it now *
* daemon started successfully *
error: closed
please can someone sum up the posts i need to do the things i want? there are so many
please help
and you figured the development thread is the best place for this?
and you think NOT telling us what exactly the "first command to enter bootloader" is was a good idea?
and you figured NOT telling us the software versions of you hero would speed up the process of helping you?
maybe you should go over this again...
Confused....sorry
You should probably do a little more research and deductive reasoning before making a post like this.
First and foremost: Are you on a CDMA or GSM hero?

If your tablet is already rooted, do not select 1 Root device; instead, select 3 * Custom ROM and Flashing [SUBMENU] from the AiO tool's main menu and then follow the instructions provided in several posts in this forum.
To fix the Sony Tablet S device problem: in your computer's Device Manager, right-click on the Sony Tablet S device and select Update Driver Software.
hi there,my tablet is chinese and i want to change the region to US so that i can receive update.when i choose "change region "selection , it stuck with endless waitting by monitoring message below:

Hey all. I'm trying to deodex my stock rom on my at&t motorola atrix 2, running ics leak #1. I run xUltimate (v: 2.4) and all goes well, until i get to option 3 (deodex apps). It fails on ContactsProvicer2_0, and attached is the screenshot of it. Any help would be appreciated.
Also, sorry if this was in the wrong section. Mods, move it if need be.
Hi,
I want to deodex my stock rom, ICS 4.0.4, Alcatel OT 992D, MT6577 1gHz dualcore, rooted, with busybox and TWRP recovery. I have a Windows 8 64bit instaled on my laptop. Using xUltimate 2.4.2, trying also with xUltimate 2.4, but without a succses in both case. When I connect phone and pc via usb, run as administrator main.exe from /C:/xUltimate, I got message below:
Code:
* Checking Script Version.... *
* Checking Phone ROM Build.... *
* Waiting for Phone... *
adb server is out of date. killing...
* daemon started successfully *
and that's it, nothing hapends just staying forewer. I think that I have ADB driver, cause ADB and android SDK working. If I typing:
Code:
adb shell
su
from platform-tools, I got a message "shell has been granted superuser permission" on my phone display. Also, I can run comands such a "reboot", "bootanimation", etc.
Please, tell me and help me, how to run xUltimate with succes, and where is my mistake. If you need some kind of log, just tell me whichone and how to generate and I'll upload.
Thanks advance.

Is any body to help me?
Same problem!
Hey XDA'rs,
Ive been messing around with building roms and I finally got one to finish(Kindle Fire V1 btw). So I flashed it to the device and tried to boot.
What I get is the backlight to come on and never see the bootlogo. So its hanging. (Not why Im posting)
My question lies in ADB. I want to get a logcat of the device as it boots to see what the problem is.
The rom is 4.2.2 so I know theres the new security prompt to enable access for adb on the device, but does this prevent me from using adb until the device will complete its boot or is there a way to make it work?
All I can get now is for it to show "0123456789ABCDEF offline".
Ill appreciate any help!

just went through this this morning too.
short version... make sure you have the newer version of adb installed and running from that directory... replace you older versions.
4.2.2 needs adb.exe 1.0.31 and can be downloaded here for windows pc.
if you have/need Linux or mac versions they are in the index of the folder too here
