Hi guys,
My girlfriend just got a new phone so I gave her old X10 mini to my moms. But í flashed cyanogenmod 6 first. This caused some serious issues: The phone wouldn't turn on - only when pressing home+power combination, the phone but eventually turn on.. but sometimes I had to do it many times and plug usb-charger in and out, etc. Very weird.
Today i flashe stock rom via SEUS and the issue is STILL present. Argh. I found out how to turn it on though:
When powered off, i first press the power-button once, till it gives a little vibration. I then press the power-button for a couple of seconds and then release it, then I press back-button and it powers on. WTF?!
Isn't that weird as hell? Is it a damaged bootloader and if so, how do I fix this when SEUS didn't do it?
Also I should mention that the little reset-button has gone.. it disappeared under the phone when I pressed it before og after flashing CM (can't remember). Could this cause this weird issue?
Thanks in advance, from me and my mom
EDIT: It seems that X10 mini (and pro) has a bug with some sim-cards... It works with no simcard inserted. I'll try another simcard in a moment. Jeez..
jesus... even if I choose reboot from xrecovery, it does that stupid thing where it kind a locks itselfs...
Hi Guys,
I'm in need if some help/advice please.
First off I have the Xperia X10 mini Pro running a debranded ICS rom from WotanServer.com, it worked like a charm until the other night...
I was using my device the other night and a message popped up saying there was an update for android available from Sony. I Chose to update, had enough power on my device etc for it to go ahead. Anyhow the device did the first part of the update and then rebooted. Ever since then the device has been as good as dead. No lights light up on the device when plugged into the wall charger and my PC doesn't do anything when it is plugged in. I have noticed however that it does vibrate for a split second when I hold the power button, nothing happens beyond that however.
Is this something anyone else has experienced and/or could help me with?
EDIT - Just to add, I have tried the obvious things such as different USB cable and attempted hard reset etc etc
EDIT 2 - Also I have just discovered that if I hold the Power, Home and Volume Down button the green light appears on the phone and stays on until I unplug the USB. Nothing happening beyond that though :/
Thanks
Well then you might have a chance. You went wrong when you accepted the update while on a custom rom. But no one can really help here because you are in the wrong forum. This is for the x10

Sorry, thanks for the reply anyway mate. Could a Mod please delete this post upon coming across it? Thanks
First, good afternoon.
Well, I have a Xperia x10 here and he just does not care. When I press the power button, it vibrates, but the screen it stays black and will not appear the Sony logo.
Would you like a help from the beginning. Already downloaded the FlashTool program and a generic version of firmware 2.3.3.
Thank you
PS.: Yesterday I turn on it normally
Sorry for bad english, i not speak so well.
Try getting it into flash mode (hold back while plugging in usb cable while the phone is off). If the PC doesn't detect it, its probably a dead mainboard.
I had this exact issue with an X10 a couple of years ago, it was one of three and none of the others ever suffered from it. The phone is still dead while older ones live on.

I had a similar issue 2 times with months in between , no response from power+vol up , no lights when charging , no response from pressing on the red button behind the flaps, last time it happened after a reboot from an update and still having plenty of battery left.
I tried putting it on the charger for a whole day with no result , put it back in the box to return it , decided to let it rest a few days first , since someone had the same issue and it magically came back to life when he got back from a vacation.
So i try to turn it on 2 days later and it worked again magically indeed, functions totally restored till this day.
Hope this helps a bit

If it's like the Z1 Tablet you could try a complete power down by pressing the volume up/down, and power button for several seconds, then try to do a recovery via the Sony PC companion (so long as you can get into flash mode), if it works you'll loose all data, but it's worth it IMO

I've got something like this going on too. Plugging it into a blackberry playbook charger seemed to give it a charge when the OEM charger wouldn't work. It came back to life. I've also noticed that the tablet won't sleep properly while charging. I plug it in, hit the power button to sleep, and it wakes it self as though I plugged a charger in. And so I cycles dimming the screen to sleep and then seconds later like u tap the power button to get the screen to wake. Something s definitely wrong.

I'd the same on my SGP511 yesterday when rooting failed. Just charge for an hour using Sony charger, then press POWER + VOLUME for more than 60 seconds. It vibrates three times and resume from death. Cheers!
It seems like some of these boards may be failing. I think this issue is related to the screen not powering off while charging issue. Users are reporting that Sony is repairing the devices by replacing their main boards. I wonder if there is a known issue with z2 tabs that Sony is aware of.
My z2 tab has both of these problems. I flashed a factory ftf to it and it still had the problem. This is what led me to believe that it was hardware related as it didn't used to do it running cm11 or stock firmware.
I had this happen to me once or twice, though in my case I could recover via power + up/down (can't remember lol) .
In the end my tablet developed other symptoms (namely inability to magnetic charge, and screen stays always on when charged) so i sent it off for repair and they replaced the motherboard.
Hasn't happened since, though I only have had it back for a few weeks. Touch wood.

Does replacing the motherboard mean fully stock and locked boot loader with present DRM keys?

Yep as in these tablets the flash/CPU/RAM etc. is baked into the mobo so its more or less getting a new tablet internally.
to my shame I updated it without remembering you can only root the older firmware which it did come with ROFL.... oh well the only thing I use root for is adblock
I've just posted my version of events regarding this:

Can't you just use flashtools to downgrade your tablet back to the rootable 4.4.2 firmware?
I managed to downgrade my xperia z2 4g tablet with flashtools application.
Only hiccup was that i accidentally put my tablet in bootloop while i tried to downgrade it, after that i just rooted and installed dual recovery. With that dual recovery i could flash pre rooted 4.4.4 and so i still have my drm keys and ps4 remote play app.
Hello,
I bought a Z5c in black a week ago. I did not use it up to now as primary phone, I was barely using it. The day before yesterday I was using it until Battery was empty, after that I was charging it. It was approx. 24h at the charger. Yesterday it did not turn on. I tried now 3 different Chargers (Original, 5 Port 2A, Surface 3 Pro Charger) and 4 different cables, nothing happens. The screen stays off, the LED doesn't turn on.
When it was still on I did not root / hack / flash the phone or whatsoever. I only installed some apps and played some games. It did not get in contact with water or sweat, it did not drop or something. It was mostly lying arround.
Do you have any Idea? I tried to push that small off button next to the SIM, nothing. Pressing On Button for 10s+, nothing.
Tnx already!
Cheers
Have you tried another outlet ?

Hey,
yes, even at home and at work. I also tried my Laptop, nothing happens...
I was just in contact with the Sony Hotline. The support asked me to press Vol+ and Power, but nothing happened. I also tried Vol- and Camera Button together with Power Button, nothing happens
Cheers
Small Update: Got it back from Sony, its working again. I got my phone back, not a replacement. The Letter with the repaired phone says nothing about what was repaired. But I can see that the back of the Phone was removed somehow as my attached protection foil has now some dirt below it that werent there before.
Lets hope that from now on my Z5c doesn't give up that quick any more
