Hi Guys,
Really hope you guys can help me out...
Accidentally flashed the i9100G version of resurrection remix onto my i9100 (stupid mistake I know... )
Have tried flashing stock android roms on using odin
My phone is the international version of the S2, parallel Imported from Poland (I think)
Have tried:
-I9100XXLPQ_I9100OXALPQ_XEO
-GT-I9100_SEB_I9100XXLPQ_I9100OXXLPD_I9100XXLPQ
-I9100XWLPX_I9100NEELP5_NEE
I can still enter recovery & download mode, however recovery hangs every time I try to wipe data
Everytime I flash a stock rom I get to the little green robot with the blue progress bar down the bottom. This goes on for about 5 mins before the progress bar stops and the phone freezes. If I take the battery out and restart the phone it just goes straight into the default android recovery mode. I have read that at this stage you should clear data, however recovery always hangs when I try to factory reset. it can clear cache fine though....
I've also tried flashing CWM through the default launcher, this works and I've tried to install the proper version of resurrection remix, however the install hangs at extracting system/xbin/vim. I do have nandroid backups of previous ICS installations, but restoring them also fails..... so I am stumped atm
Would really appreciate some help
Thanks guys
using Odin, try flashing WITHOUT the .PIT and re-partition. And only if it DOESN'T WORK OR FIX then you flash with the .PIT and Re-Partition ticked.
Now, it should fix the NAND rw coruption.
Hope this helps

Just seeking some clarification, for the first time is that with repartition ticked and PIT left empty or repartition left unticked. I have been flashing with repartition unticked all along with no luck,
Thanks

That is correct. OK now try the other option. Tick re-partition and add .PIT file, then flash firmware too.

Problem Solved Using this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1760107
Good to know its solved !
next time, make sure to always try a flash via Odin or a atleast an external device to push it towards the phone. if thats doesn't work then you got a real problem:good:

Very strange problem with Galaxy Tab 10.1, was behaving very strangely so I figured I would root and install custom rom for better performance.
Problem is that CWM will not install (read all of the tutorials, have rooted Samsung phone / Xoom tablet with no issue). Odin flashes yellow but when I go back to recovery mode it is still the standard one.
I figured I would do a hard factory reset (tried both via settings and stock recovery) which doesnt reset anything? Upon reboot after reset tablet is just how it was before? I have tried deleting accounts and upon reboot they are back? Its like its write protected or something, anyone know what I can try?
Note if I copy a file onto the internal memory (custom rom), upon reboot it disappears....
Its because you hav rooted nd installed cwm...therefore factory reset via honeycomb does not format the tablet....use the below link (step by step method) to restore ur tab to factory condition and den try to flash cwm first using odin pda mode and den root using cwm....
http://www.teamovercome.net/p7500/?page_id=5
Go down in the above page to "re-stocking yer system" nd use the guide...
After flashing a stock frmware with odin using the above method...ur tab might want a passwrd etc...after booting up...Turn the tab off...nd den boot into the recovery...den wipe system..cache etc....nd reboot...this should solve your problem....
Thank you I will try. If I have flashed CWM why cant I boot into it?
Followed the instructions and it fails to write:

In which step did you face this problem...??
---------- Post added at 02:43 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:30 PM ----------
Did u make it sure to re partition using the pit file..?? http://www.mediafire.com/?kkq5k6q1joblq98
Also make sure dat wen u hav chosen a pit file the repartition box is checked...den select the PDA file...(the stock rom) nd click on start...after flashing completes....reboot tab into recovery nd wipe data cache etc....
First of all finish re stocking ur tab...den post if ur successful...den move on to rooting nd cwm....
Follow every step carefully...dont miss a single thing...
Here is what I get:
The tab is NOT rooted, I checked.
I cannot do a factory data reset at all, the tablet works fine but any changes I make to it go away upon reboot, someone has to know how to fix this??
Have you tried different stock ROMs or just the one? I remember flashing one of the earlier ROMs and as part of the process, it nuked the whole thing, might be worth getting one of the first ROMs from Samfirmware and see if one of those helps you out more than the one you have currently.
Sent from my GT-P7500 using Tapatalk
Which Tab r you using..?? the P7500 or the wifi only P7510...??? Make sure u'r using the correct rom...if u hav the P7500 then the rom u've used is not the correct one...also do try some other roms from http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&t=3&o=1&m=GT-P7500&r=1#regiona But u need to sign up there to download roms....Best of luck..
I have the P7510 and I have tried numerous different firmwares but it will not write ANYTHING at all, is there anything else I can try?
Please forgive me for asking this, but you "are" putting the tab into download mode when you try to use Odin aren't you?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2 Beta-5
Yes I have it in download mode.
For reference, if I go to stock recovery and try to factory reset, it doesnt work. If I try to firmware upgrade with Kies it doesnt work. Its like the thing is stuck in its current state and nothing can change it.
It boots up, it works, it just always boots to the same state (doesnt recognize any apps or changes made prior to reboot).
Will it do any good to drain the battery (is there any memory that will clear if I leave the battery dead for a few hours / days)??
when you flashed CWM through ODIN, did you extract the .tar file first, or did you try and flash it as an .md5?
Have tried both .tar and .tar.md5, same result.
Realize that my using Odin did not cause the issue, the issue existed prior to me ever messing with it, I was going to root and flash a custom rom in the hopes of solving the issue.
I had also faced problems like dese...but everytime restocking via odin was successful....dont know why odin is not not able to flash the firmware in ur specific case...
Is there by any chance an app in the app drawer named "Factory Test" or "Factory Mode"?
pbiancardi, were you able to install a custom recovery? I am experiencing the exact same problems as you.
The device is not able to ODIN properly and any files uploaded to the root of the device folder is erased after a reboot.
Bump bump.
this is a perplexing issue. None of the brilliant xda minds can figure this one out?
Same problem
hello, im having the same problem and i tried everything i could find on the web flashing new roms, wiping data from system and recovery and when it boots it restores everything.
but mine also freezes if i dont turn off wifi when it boots up
have you solved this problem please?

Hey friend,
I doubt that the pit file you are having is for p7500 model and the rom you are installing is for p7510 model. I think that mismatch is causing problem.
When I looked at the screenshot I found p4 at the end of pit file's name. And all the p4 files I have seen so far, are for p7500(3g) model.
So I suggest you to download any stock rom from sammobile.com and then just select file in PDA tab in Odin. Don't touch any other thing in Odin and repartition should be unchecked by default. Now just flash it this way with tab in downloading mode and this should install stock rom successfully.
Now if u have rooted before and installed cwm recovery before then flash stock recovery by Odin with same method without touching other things.
After that when ur tab boots up normally go to settings and then factory reset. This should erase everything. Even your user data.
So I had Faryaab's superNexus rom and decided I wanted to go back to stock since it was crashing quite a bit. I loaded up recover mode, restored factory settings, deleted dalvik cache then I flashed a stock italian rom being this version: I9300XXBLH1_I9300ITVBLH2_ITV. I went in odin3 v3.04 and loaded the .tar.md5 under pda. Auto reboot and f.reset time are ticked. it flashes successfully but it gets stuck on the samsung boot screen.
Then I went on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1671969 and downloaded a UK firmware being this: GT-I9300_BTU_I9300XXALE8_I9300OXAALE8_I9300XXLE8 and tried refreshing again. Odin shows this status but its still getting stuck on bootscreen.. http://screencast.com/t/mItUADGR
Now my problem is I really don't know what location the firmware was from since I really didn't bother checking before flashing to the supernexus rom. I bought this off ecell seller on ebay and I use it in Malta (Europe).
Any ideas what to do? I really hope I didn't brick it..
Relax..just go into stock recovery using 3 button method menu+vol up+power..wipe data/factory reset..wipe cache...and reboot...you will be fine..
By the way I dont think this is the correct section to post Q/A

Hey everyone. I'm hoping that someone can help me out.
I rooted my daughter's YP-G70 without issue and then tried to install a custom rom. It appeared to go okay but upon reboot, it just hangs at the Samsung logo and then reboots again about 5-10 seconds later in a loop at that point. I searched around and tried to restore to a stock rom including the PIT file using ODIN but that hasn't worked (even though is says that it completed successfully).
My other daughter's YP-G70 is still a completely stock ROM. Is there a guide somewhere that I could take a full backup of her Player 5.0, ODIN it over to the soft bricked player so that I can then just do a data wipe and have it back to stock?

I guess you could still flash a custom kernel with CWM, then do a nandroid backup and restore that backup over the soft-bricked device. It could work.
You might want to try wiping data via recovery after flashing the rom.
For some reason, Odin didn't work for me either. I had to factory restore it with Heimdall.

The one that Meticulus posted (http://www.4shared.com/rar/XkZ-pDCc/...EKI8_MIN.html?) in this topic: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2361763
-Add the pit file from the "Flash" tab (top)
-Change the partition name "FactoryFS"
-Click "Browse" (top)
-Add the previous pit file that you just added (bottom) (ignore the message that pops up)
-Click on "Start"
After that, it should boot and everything should be fine (and nothing was wiped, may I add). You may want to add recovery, too.
Like I told the OP where I posted that file. You should boot into recovery mode and do some wiping!
Hello
I've accidentally flashed a wrong cwm-recovery (meant for some other phone)
After the installation I've rebooted into recovery and it booted the one I already had (that's when I understood it's the wrong one)
Then I've tried to reboot back to my rom but it got stuck on the rom's loading screen
Tried to flash a new rom after using gs2RomWipe
Tried to restore from a nandroid backup
all of them gave the same result.. stuck on the loading screen
Now to my question...
If I flash a stock Rom via Odin.. will it be enough? will I be able to reroot and use my phone normally again?
Or is there an easier way maybe?
i did the same today..
all the time bootloop..
flashing same rom that i was using did not helped..
flashing some other rom helped but cant call cause phone dont see simcard..
flashing some other roms like cyanogenmod also stuck my on bootloop..
I am pretty sure you have to flash via odin.
Update...
I've flashed a stock rom via Odin but it went into a bootloop
when I've entered recovery it said E:failed to mount efs (invalid argument)
so far I've found no way to make the phone work
please help

If you are using i9100.
Then flash philz kernel via odin.
Then boot into recovery.
MOUNT usb storage
Place any rom zip in the root of ex sd card
Flash it with full wipe

It doesn't work...
stock rom wont start, restored nandroid wont start, philz + new rom wont start
I have efs backup as tar.gz but didn't find a normal guide on how to use it without the phone working (i.e adb)
I'm not even sure if the problem is because of the efs missing or not but it seems to be the problem

still nothing...
and it usually takes 1-2 mins max for me
also doesn't explain why stock from odin wont work
It seems to me that I need to somehow fix the efs folder but no idea how to do that
almost all the guides I've seen about that requires the rom to work and use root explorer
the others wasn't clear enough or just not related
according to the shell commands my efs folder is empty
copying the efs folder I have on my sdcard doesn't help because it's not there after reboot
I have a tar.gz as well but not sure how to use it
can I flash the .tar via odin? or some other solution with adb/shell?
or do you think it has nothing to do with my problem?
anyone have any idea how to help me???
I've tried many different ways but my device just wont make it past the loading screen of the rom (doesn't matter which one)
I really have no idea what can cause this problem
thought that flashing stock rom via Odin should fix it but it doesn't help
I've tried some methods I've seen to fix efs problems but so far nothing helped
I'm really desperate at the moment :\
download mode and flash the cwm kernel via Odin should work.

i am facing exact same problem
and it also start with flashing cwm for kitkat
nothing working now stock or custmised rom
hope some one can help us to fix it

OK.....just a quick thing......Odin flashing a normal single file stock firmware *may* not be the solution as it just overwrites what is already there during the flash. I will provide a link to a three part firmware that wipes the old as it flashes.....this essentially flashes the firmware onto 'pristine' memory partitions....it *might* help......
Here's the link.....
http://www.mediafire.com/?1z5ao5b6r594x45
Search for @Hopper8s Odin troubleshooting guide for instructions on how to flash it.....
Good luck.....
This might be my S2, or it might be my W...but it's definitely CM
Hi,
I have a Samsung i9300 with Miui V5 up to date and I was trying to go back to stock firmware.
To do this, I downloaded a stock firmware (I9300XXUGMK7) and flashed it through ODIN. All the flashing process went without problems but when the device rebooted it was stuck at the Samsung Logo. I waited around 10 min but it was completely stuck. I tried rebooting and then again was stuck. I believe it was a problem with the flashing process so I tried it again with a new stock firmwares but I got always stuck at the logo.
The device enters both download mode and recovery mode (android 3e - stock recovery i believe, although it shows the android laying down with an exclamation point).
I already tried several stock firmware and yesterday I also tried flashing through ODIN with PIT File and Re-partioning but I always got the same issue.
Is it another way to move from miui to stock that I am not aware? Is there any solution for this problem?
Help Please.
Thanks a Lot
Pit and repartion then you may well have destroyed the partitions on the memory .
Who ever told you to use pit files and repartition should buy you a new motherboard .
Are their any error messages in odin ??

Hi JJEgan,
I used the Pit file as last option because I already tried several regular flashes through ODIN. No error messages during the flashing process in ODIN. The flashing process always goes apparently well until it reboots and stucks at Samsung logo.
