Quick Question - HTC EVO 3D

So my OG EVO finally gave out lol so I took the wife's 3D. (she has a iPhone now :/ lol)
I have HBOOT 1.58
My question is what's the most stable ROM on the 3D that has everything working?
Coming from tommytomatoes classic so I'm looking for that kinda stability. If possible.
I looked around but these HBOOT problems confuse me a bit. Thanks in advance.

If you want everything working you will probably need a Sense 3.6 ROM, so hboot 1.58 is fine.

Yeah 3D is lame anyway I don't care for it at all lol I guess my biggest issue really is what I can and can't flash with the HBOOT I have

Click HERE...then you can change your hboot on demand more or less and flash on the fly. Most EVO 3D owners that want custom ROM's end up doing the wire-trick...its a rite of passage.

Super easy man, I was nervous when I did it too. Just find a cheap 2GB SD card to use just in case. It was well worth it, I can flash 100 ROM's a day if I want.

Hey there. So I am also new to the 3vo forums. I am hboot 1.58 also and am s off with the quick and dirty method. Which rims should I stay away from? I think I read that with hboot not to flash any aosp roms. Is this true?

Yes. If you flash AOSP ROM's with hboot 1.58 they probably won't boot. If you want to run them, you need to downgrade your hboot to an older version, which isn't that hard.
You can find a lot of information about hboots and how to install them here, and the hboot downloads are in post #7 of that thread.

Yes I am aware if teamwins find and also alpharevxs today. Was not sure if they had found the exploit through a phone shipped with soff. Sorry just lookin to see if I could help anyway
Every little bit counts. Not sure how you'd go about dumping the system though. I'm sure someone here could show you how.

Hey OP, thanks for sharing. There have been a few S-OFF E3Ds reported to be floating around in the wild and as far as I know, a system dump was given to teamwin. At this point I think this is something the devs have had access to and I doubt would do much good now. However, your gesture is much appreciated thanks for offering up what you have.
Thanks just looking to help
The difference to this from the one teamwin got is it it a ship S-off hboot instead of a Eng s-off hboot like the one teamwin got. Mind posting a pic for proof?

[Q] Eng hboot

Sorry if this has been ask but I'm on the phone and not coming up with much through the search. I've only had this phone for a little more then a day.
I've found this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=16198978
But it hasn't been updated in a while and I'm just wondering if that is the only and or the best eng hboot available.
I'm on a CDMA Evo 3D rooted with revolutionary I had hboot 1.30 but after root I now have 1.40 s-off.
I do a lot of flashing and just want to be able to fully use fastboot in case I need it so any help would be great.
Also while I'm posting in here does anyone have any recommendations on radios I'm on the ones that came with the phone 0.97.00.0518 and from looking at the radio thread they seem to be a little old.
TIA for any help or replies.

The ENG hboot in that thread is the one I'd think you want to use. As far as the radios go, I'm not super sure. I'm on the same as you, and haven't upgraded nor seen a need to update at this point. My signal and speeds are great, so I figure just leave well enough alone. If you do decide to update to the latest radios, don't flash just the radio. You need to find an all in one zip by xHausx or freeza to flash all the necessary firmware. There may be even more all in one zip's floating around, but I know those two definitely have one. Good luck.

Now I'm curious I have not gottena chance to root this phone but I do know it is on 1.5 hboot will that be a serious problem or is there a decent work around?

Try rooting a Samsung. I don't know about now but before it was a pain in the butt to get the rooting program to run right. That's another reason why ibloved HTC. Everything was manual and less stressful.

After coming from rooting my LG (press a button in superonclick to root, then running a batch file to put on CWM), the htc is a mega pain to get access.
The common theme I've noticed after being in 3 different sub-forums is that all users complain about the manufacturers not releasing code. I'm not surprised the companies don't but it makes everything so hard. So just realise it isn't just HTC being a pain it's pretty much every company.
Very glad that there is hope for 1.5's Hbooters I do wonder what hboot version HTC will try to enforce on the E3D when ICS comes via OTA.

This will only be useful to the people who have S-OFF or who have already done the official update right? You'd probably save yourself and others some headache by mentioning that. I'm sure you're gonna put in all the details when it's ready, I'm just saying.

I know. I did read that the kitchen had an issue or used to have an issue with deodexing stock ICS roms. There was a fix or something that needed to be changed/edited that allowed it to work, something about extracting system.img differnetly I thought. Sigh.

But i just wanted to ask, is there anyway I could install your upcoming rom

so what you are saying is: either way, I would have to update the ph85img with hboot

would it be impossible to flash a rom from GB to ICS without going thru the hboot process?

I was able to find it, but it had issues finding the files to download. Once I pointed it to the correct page for the files, it had trouble with the md5 verification step, so I fixed that as well. After that, it got to what seemed to be about 90% complete and I got a BSOD. I'll work on it some more later and post my results. Fantastic tool when it can find what it needs.

Yes, I remember.
I have all my current m7 stuff posted here on XDA, haven't really been active on Infected for a while now.
I don't know what m7 variant you have, but without USB, you basically have just one option which will cost you 25 dollars.
That is SunShine s-off, which will give you s-off and unlock your bootloader.

Very easy to use, no usb required.

Finally got everything to work. Root, downgrade, mainver and s-off done. If anyone comes along needing help, I'm always glad to contribute where needed. Thanks for your help Santod. You're a legend.
infectedrom not working for me
I am trying to root my Thunderbolt I can't log into infectedRom as they are not taking new members and you can only view threads as a member. I have Android 4.0.4 Sence 3.6 kernal 3.0.16 locked hboot 1.08.0 s-on radio 2.03
I rooted a inc 6300 but I just can't find the guide to revert back to a version that can run revolutionary. Please point me in the right direction. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

I'll have to look around but revolutionary was the initial part of rooting it, that much I know
Edit: try also looking at this forum, this is where I started with my Thunderbolt
