try this:
1. Download Siyah kernel version 3.5.2 (very stable for your Android version, i.e ICS 4.0.3) or Download another kernel like Speedmod, N.e.a.k. etc
2. Download Kernel cleaning script
3. Boot to CWM reocovery
- Flash Kernel cleaning script (the one you just downloaded)
- Flash Siyah kernel 3.5.2 (or any of the recommended kernels)
- reboot phone.
done.
Thanks but could i just restore a backup that i made before i installed siyah kernel so ill be back on stock kernel? Will that work n fix the problem or not ?
Or is it possable to flash my stock kernel through cwm?

Yes.
1. What was the version of the CWM recovery you used to create the backup?
2. What is the version of your present CWM recovery?
I dont know which cwm version i used to back up it came with rachmat3 method i think and i have 6.6.0.5 now but ill go check now incase im wrong
My current cwm is cwmr touch v5.5.0.4
Would it be possable to flash my stock kernel using my current kernel (siyah kernel) which has the above cwm version because if i could that would be great

1. Try to restore your backup in CWM recovery,
if it fails then,
2. Flash the latest Siyah kernel first, then restore your backup.
Could you get me a stock kernel that is safe and that i can flash through siyah kernel please or send me a link to right kernel.
And if i go back to stock will i lose root? Because i really want my stock phone back i wish a didnt root it
This one is my old kernel but i cant find it:
3.0.15-I9100XXLPQ-CL223505
[email protected] #3
I have 3 backups
The first backup i made was when i rooted using rachmat3 method
2nd
Was with the cwm u gave me 2 flash siyah kernel with. It was cwm-notouch-6.0.1.2-i9100.zip
3rd
I made this backup with siyah kernel but im getting kernel panic anyway im telling u all this because wen i check the md5 file size in each back up my first 2 backups are way smaller then my latest backup heres how they look
Why are they so different
restore your first or second backup. Both contains your original kernel.
Do i need to do wipes? If so which wipes

You don't really need to wipe but just to play your music, you can wipe data before restoring the backup.
Why on earth did you open another thread, when you already have a good discussion going on here? I'm very sure you have not even tried all the suggestions on this thread.
Always stick to one thread.
respect the forum rules.
I opened another thread because no one else but you are helping me and thanks cause you've helped me alot but i need as much help as i can get. I wanna return to my stock phone without bricking it. Rooting my phone was ok but since i installed siyah kernel everythings went wrong my battery jumped from full charge to 88% in about 10mins iv got 3 bars of signal when im browsing internet but it dont load a page no more and youtube buffers every 4secs. Have you restored your stock backup?
Common!
Kernel cleaning script didnt work
Kernel cleaning script did work but hasnt made a difference do u have anymore ideas as i dnt wanna restore backup incase something gos wrong because i dont have a laptop/pc at the moment and i need this phone i dont have a spare
The phone wont magically fix itself.Theres always a chance that the phone wont boot and youll lose recovery-so youd need odin c/w pc to use download mode.
You should try to restore the 1st backup you made.
I run dreamkernel 2.7 and rootbox 1.8 and never get any problems.
My phone might not magically fix it self nor will the answers to my questions magically appear in my head i know nothing about android and im trying to learn by askin questions if im doing peoples heads in then dont come on my post to moan (jokesy) gan moan on someone elses post ya make me feel like im not aloud to ask questions i thought thats what GALAXY SII Q&A thread was for i opened other posts hoping for different answers from different people
But thats why there are moderators-and infractions.

Right so here is my thing acouple of days ago i tried to go from a rom based on XLPH to one Based on XLPQ. I did the four wipes however on startup it would go into Kernel Panic Mode. I could not access cwm but could get into dl mode so i flashed cf root XLPH and managed to get back to the original rom i started from. It seems that any XLPQ based rom results in the same outcome of Kernel Panic Mode even siyah.Ive tried to go back to stock to start again but the same thing keeps happening. However as a last resort i flashed an original ota based samsung Build i don't now get the Kernel Panic Mode message but a blank screen and it shuts down I've managed to get into dl mode and get back to my original rom any advice.

unfortunately.. i having same problem..tired of this..please someone help..
i think it maybe hardware i hope not
Been a few people on my forum with the same problem but I seemed to avoid it.
First I made a nandrord backup and passed it to my PC.Then formatted my internalSD(have all important stuff on external anyway)then passed it back to internalSD again with the new ROM.Formated the phone-System,Data,cache in Mounts and Storage and flashed the official ICS from SamMobile.Rooted booted to recovery and then flashed the ROM on a clean device. After that flashed the CF-PROPER kernel cos the CF-Root kernel has the apps to SD and Titanium restore problems. So far all running smooth.
thanks will try that how do i get a nandroid back up to my pc
guys can i install this new XXLPQ ics update manually??...i heard its for the european phones...im in Malaysia...hope it wont effect my carrier phone calls, sms ad 3G network ~~

sorry should have put it better i just want to know whether her reformatted in cwm or any other way ie kies.
CWM only .
jje
Sorry had to go to bed.It was late in the morning here.
1.have your nandroid and custom ROM on the internalSD.The wont be touched by a format.
2.Boot to recovery and go to Mounts and Storage and format System,Data;Cache
3.Go back and wipe battery stats.Go back and do a Factory reset.
4.Reboot your device.
It wont boot properly cos you have formatted the system so pull the battery, put it back in and boot into download mode. Now flash via Odin the Official LPQ firmware that you can download from SamMobile and root with chainfires CF kernel. Now flash your custom ROM.
Tryed find a full "odin-version" of a XLPQ, including bootloader?
it MUST include XLPQ bootloader for this to work.
I had Kernel panic when I needed go from Omega V4 to v5.
Odin image with same kernel as needed, root it,
then try install youre new rom.
Good luck man
Thanx guys will try later maybe the idea of messing with the bootloader scares me im gonna try cooza method first.

I still have a few questions before rooting my phone for the first time.
1) if i root 2.3.6 using the right kernel, Can i still install an ics custom rom like resurrection?
2) if i root stock 4.0.3 Poland version or argentinian version, final result of installing a new custom Rom is gonna be the same because it completely replace the first one?
3) what's the difference between nandroid backup and cwm way to backup custom rom? Do i need to keep my backup inside the phone in order to unbrick it tomorrow, or may i just store it on my notebook and delete it from the phone?
Thanks a lot!!

1) Rooting is just to give you access to CWM.. ergo the ability to install custom ROMS so you can install ROMS after rooting
2) When you flash a new ROM (which is rooted) then you dont have to bother about what did you did before that..
3) If i'm not mistaken CWM only allows u to do a nandroid backup.. And if u want to restore to the backup ( in ur case unbrick :silly U need to have that in ur sd card :good:
Happy rooting.. Happy flashing..
1) Follow whatever instructions the rom you're wanting to use has to the letter.
2) If you install a custom rom, then yes, obviously it will replace any stock rom you flash it over the top of.
3) A CWM backup is a Nandroid backup. It's the same thing. You can store your backups wherever you want. I have my 4 most recent Nandroids on my phone, and I have every backup I've ever done on my phone stored on my PC (and another copy on an external drive I use for backups). So I guess the question you're asking is, can I take a Nandroid backup from ages ago stored on my PC, put it on my phone & restore it. Am I right ? If that's what you're asking, the answer is yes.
Thanks. Actually i was asking in case my phone bricks after installing a new rom. I guess i won't be able to come it back to life if i don t have the backup in the phone.
And one more thing. What is efs backup. Do I also need to do it?
Thanks
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
Yes. The 2nd thing you should do after your root your phone (first thing is do a Nandroid backup) is to get kTool from Google Play & backup your EFS. Before you install another rom or kernel do both of those.
Keep a copy on your external sdcard & keep another copy on your PC. Just in case you ever need it. We get quite a few people on here every week with IMEI/EFS details gone & most don't have EFS backups.
thanks!

I've actually used that app a few times well (about 5) and haven't had any issues but once you get CWM installed and you flash kernels through it you won't get the yellow triangle.

There will always be a risk when using anything that manupulates root access, but triangle away is quite safe, as for what kernel if works on, most kernel threads will say if it is compatiable or not, but only with ICS kernels, not GB kernels.
"...once you get CWM installed and you flash kernels through it you won't get the yellow triangle."
What do you mean by that? I actually don´t need to use the app, because triangle will dissapear anyway after flashing a Kernel?

You will still have the triangle after flashing a new rom or kernel, the best way to get rid of it is triagle away, this app will also reset your flash counter.
Once you get a working CWM, let's say you're using Cyanogenmod 9 and you want to flash over the stock kernel.
You'd put the kernel file on the memory of the device (sdcard) and boot in CWM recover and flash from there and you won't get the triangle.
The triangle won't go away now if you unless you use a USB jig or the triangle away app. So get rid of the triangle now and when you want to try a new kernel flash it through CWM and the triangle won't appear. Flash a kernel through download mode and you'll get the triangle.

Fixing permissions is automatic I believe in CWM recovery. It's an option in the recovery menu. Remember to wipe data and cache (dalvik too) when flashing a next rom or else you won't be able to boot.

Thanks for the info mate
By the way, you should really just buy a USB Jig off eBay for a few quid, it resets the custom binary counter (on old bootloaders) and can also force your phone into download mode after a bad flash. Handy to have around. Also, now that you have rooted your phone, download EFS Pro (found here on XDA) and back up your EFS folder before any flashing. Lose this folder and your in serious trouble!

Hi! When rooting or flashing a custom rom or kernel, do I lose internal sd card content?
Where is the EFS folder I need to backup?
Thanks!
Good evening people,
I need some help please. I thought I would flash my phone and flash a different rom on it. Obviously you have to root it first so I downloaded Odin,Samsung Quick Root, GT-I9100_XWLA4_insecure.tar & GT-I9100_XXLP6_secure kernels.
I used Odin to get the insecure kernel on so that I can then root my phone before rooting it back to a secue kernel and changing its rom.
After using odin,I routed the phone, said succesful but my phone sticks at the original load up screen. I unrooted it but its still sticks there but without the triangle.
Can someone please point me in the right direction as what to do as need to sort this soonest possible please, thank you.

since my last back up I dont think I've added many new numbers so not too bothered about that. Main thing was the photos which I have which at least wont be affected.
So after downloading the original stock for ICS4.0.3 from SamMobile, do I just upload the kernal and stock to PDA in ODIN and press start and then let nature take its course? lol

Right, I flashed the original stock from Odin and the phone is now working again, woohoo. I never thought I'd be so happy to see the O2 arena in London, lol.
However its still not working fully coming up with a crash warning like "Unfortunately, the process android.process.acore has stopped" and "Unfortunately, LogsProvider has stopped." and basically crashes all the time.
What I am looking to do is install this: CheckRom RevoHD 7
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1312240
I have downloaded the Rom for it, Odin and as mentioned previously them two kernels. You recommend I download Siyah Kernel 4.1.5 but cant find it unless I'm being blind, and is it a kernel which you have to tamper with or can you leave it as is?
When I have everything,as far as I know the steps are:
Open Odin, Flash the New Kernel
Root the device,
Copy Rom on to sd card
Start UP VOLUME,POWER & HOME
Install Rom from SD card
Is that right?

the error is common after install of a Stock rom ma8, all u have to do is to reboot to recovery and there 'Wipe Data/Factory reset' to get rid of the same
any way since ur trying to install check rom revo Hd 7, no need for the same
first flash the .tar file of siyah kernel v4.1.5 from Odin to root ur phone, after that when on reboot u will have an 'Yellow triangle' which u can get rid of later.
after installing the siyah kernel successfully u can install the Check rom revo hd 7 by following the install instructions in its thread
but u have to do a 'wipe data/factory reset' in siyah kernel's recovery, before flashing the Check rom

Excellent,thank you for your help.
I flashed the siyah kernel with Odin and then after installing CheckRom on to the SD card I installed the custom rom straight from there. I didnt do the wipe/data factory reset before flashing the checkrom but it seems to work just fine and the speed difference is quite a massive difference.
However, its easy enough to follow that step and wipe/data factory and then reinstall CheckRom,once again it says Confirm Wipe of ALL USER DATA?? Can I just confirm one last time that this wont get rid of all my photos and then I'll be happy to wipe/data factory reset before reinstalling the check rom.
Thank you for your help, glad to see that I didnt lose any contacts either as I had synced with google account at some point recently. just lost messages which not bothered about.

Also CheckRom 7, AllianceRom & UHLPY Neatrom are ones that have caught my eye, any others you would suggest or any of these 3?? thank you
Hey guys.
I've searched the forums for this issue, unfortunately it seems like mine is a little unique and I can't find a solution to my problem anywhere.
I'm stuck in CWM Recovery mode, and although I can navigate the menu... when pressing the Home key to select the various options, nothing happens besides the options blinking for a sec. I can access Odin Mode with Power/Volume +/- but that's it. Also it's worth noting that I'm unable to access my phone's files from my computer when in download mode (my guess is because the phone isn't set to USB storage mode which I have to do from the booted home screen, which... I can't access).
This happened after the first time entering Recovery mode on CWM, and although I have ROM Manager installed on my phone, after researching a little I found that was NOT what I wanted to use. And I did NOT use that program.. my CWM was flashed in from a .tar on Odin (the windows program). I also have a Jellybam folder placed in the phone, which was my next step.
How can I get out of CWM Recovery so that I can continue flashing the Jellybam ROM?
I apologize if I've missed anything. Please let me know if you need any other information. I'll be sure to hit the thank you button on every reply.
THANK YOU!
:crying:
um....
you are supposed to flash the ROM from CWM, so why would you want to get out of CWM to get back into CWM?
you havent mentioned what version of Android you were already running or what kernel you flashed, but have you tried using the POWER button to select things in CWM? Are you sure you used the right kernel? Are you sure you have an i777?
Hey Pirateghost, thanks for the reply! And yes, I was going into CWM Recovery to flash the ROM. The reason I wanted out of CWM was because it had no functionality... yes, I did try using the power button to select things. Seems the home button was it? In any case nothing worked. My version of Android was Gingerbread UCKH7, and I'm %100 sure it's an i777. By using the "right kernel" you mean the right version of Jellybam?
UPDATE: I got out of the bootloop by using a stock root UCKH7 kernel, bringing it in from Odin. Now I'm just trying to understand what went wrong and how I can continue to flash my Jellybam ROM in without any issues. I also found that my CWM app disappeared after I uninstalled ROM Manager after getting access back to my phone.
More info...
the kernel I installed for CWM was KH4 at this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399
After putting the KH7 stock root kernel in via Odin and getting out of the bootloop, I deleted ROM Manager off my phone and reflashed the KH4 kernel so I could get CWM. That worked fine, but now Superuser is crashing.

The kernel you just linked above is for the GT-I9100, not the SGH-I777. You seem to be moving forward without providing yourself with enough knowledge. If you are sure the phone is an I777 then stay away from the I9100 forums. Get what you need from here. There is lots of information in the guides linked in my signature. There is enough information there to guide you through everything you want to do.

You are flashing an older kernel on a newer ROM??? why? if you want to have CMW recovery you should flash your stock rom and then get the CWM .tar file and flash it in Odin. If you happen to get a .zip CWM file you can rename it to update.zip and flash it using your stock ROM's recovery options.
Search something along these lines: CWM5.8.1.8-i777.zip or recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.3-galaxys2att.tar as examples

WOW! I don't know how I missed that. Must pay more attention to detail...
Thank you so much for pointing that out Creepyncrawly!

It's great having new folks around helping out.
This is bad information, however. 3e recovery will enforce signature verification on any update.zip, and it will fail.

always a pleasure to lend a hand. you're right it used to work on 2e I think, I was trying to signify the difference between the zip and tar, but thank you so much for the correction.
So should I be using a different kernel? I'm sorry I'm not quite sure what you're saying Commodore64, my head has been spinning from all this.

you should be using a kernel intended for your phone....your phone (if branded AT&T) is either an i727 skyrocket or i777. this is the i777 forum section. you appear to have flashed a kernel for an i9100...
just follow creepy's guides and do it the right way. there is nothing you can flash in STOCK recovery that will give you CWM or a new kernel (which on this phone CWM is packed with the kernel)

There is not just one answer, you can go back to one of the stock ROMs, like the ones provided by creepyncrawly threads.
There are a lot of threads on this and I don't have my I777 anymore but I used to do this:
1- Once you flashed a stock rom, go into recovery and cleanup. data/cache reset.
2- Have the files you want to flash on your phone. (if you format the SD card you will erase your files including the ones you want to flash!)
3- Use your .tar Odin CWM that worked for you before now to flash CWM.
4- Once in the CWM flash a newer CWM version (CWM6.0.1.0-i777.zip) since your ROM is based on CM/AOKP
5- After flash Go to Advanced and reboot recovery (this will reboot your phone now with the newer version of CWM)
6- Once in the newer CWM clean up again.
7- Don't reboot, have the correct version (latest or whatever) of your Custom ROM and install it now.
This is the general idea, if you don't know what you're doing read the threads in the development section, everything you need is there.
Educate yourself before you make your phone a crippled rabbit and scream for help.

this makes no sense, dude.
1. if he is on a stock rom, there is nothing CM/AOKP on his phone
2. on this device the recovery is packed with the kernel, flashing some other CWM doesnt really matter at all. none of this is necessary.
you can flash any kernel you want (made for this device) if you dont plan on booting the OS and only plan on flashing a rom...
you have now complicated an already easy method.
Hey everyone - just wanted to let you guys know that I am now running JellyBAM and so far everything seems fine.
Thank you all for your help, seriously. If anyone has any questions about what I did etc., just ask and I'll get back to ya.
Thanks! :good:
Glad to hear you got JellyBAM up and running xargis, and just to reiterate what pirateghost was saying, you won't get CWM by flashing a CWM.tar file lol, I don't even think one can be found for this model (SGH-i777) which is the device that I currently have, the ONLY way to get CWM onto this device is to flash the proper kernel for this device, but keep in mind that there is another factor to think about as well, depending on what type of custom rom you want to run there are different kernels out there that work best and offer different/better features for deployment into the custom rom for which you will be running, in other words some roms are kernel specific, you can only use certain kernels with CM10/AOKP/ParanoidAndroid based roms, and such is the same with only using certain kernels with Sammy based stock roms, so the choice is yours, hope this info was informative to you and that you definately find a good productive rom that you will be happy to play with and run, have fun with your i777 s2, that's one of the things this forum is all about!!

EDIT: I got it rooted now but i would like some help flashing a custom ROM onto it. like what i need to know about it and stuff and which ROMs work for galaxy player 5.0. I was looking at cyanogenmod 11 but and the beanstalk one, but the rear camera doesn't work right i heard. I would kindof like a kitkat rom but if i have to use jellybean then i guess i do. i would like to know which rom is recommended
hey you all i need a little help rooting my galaxy player 5.0. model YP-G70 firmware 2.3.5 kernel version [email protected] #2 build number GINGERBREAD.UEK18
i was gonna use the superoneclick program but it says "file download blocked." isn't shortfuse.org the site to get it from? or where do i get the program?
I had already installed Samsung Kies, but now i need the superoneclick program. I was trying to get version 2.3.3. so what i'm wondering is where and how do you get superoneclick???
I've done a lot of researching which way is the best to root it, and i think superoneclick looks best. please tell me different if i'm wrong ... so yeah... thanks in advance
Your right to try and use superoneclick as a rooting program. Try downloading the most updated version and scan on Norton for viruses. Then open the program, make sure you have USB debugging on and hit root. After that hit yes when you get prompted to test and unplug your device and reboot.

Here's a link to CNET to download. If diwnlias did not work try looking for it on xda

thanks for answering!! i clicked on the link and hit download and it downloaded but it said that chrome blocked, cause it's malicious. (pic below) it shows up under my downloads though. i scanned it with vipre (i use that instead of norton) and it said it was trojan. should i just try to run it anyway or what...
edit: i tried opening it from my downloads and here's what it brings up. pic below
Antivirus saying the package is malicious is perfectly normal. The 2 root exploits used in SuperOneClick are already identified as Android-based trojans in all modern antivirus softwares. If you downloaded from a trusted site, DISABLE your antivirus software and start the rooting process. When you're done, don't forget to turn it back on.

Now that you are rooted it is time for some awesome custom ROMs. There is cm11 you could try by going into the development page and downloading it. But before you flash make sure you have a nandroid back up and you go in this order if you want to run cm11.
Gingerbread, ice cream sandwich, jelly bean, jelly bean 4.3, then cm11. Make sure your recovery is updated when flashing different rims or it might come out as a herring.
Also you could just go straight to KitKat. If you want.

I was reading some tutorials for installing CWM recovery. a lot of them say that you would have to flash a kernel with it built into it. and another one says to use rom manager app which I have but the app doesn't support a galaxy player 5.0. so i wanna install it but I don't know how. like there are so many tutorials. flashing a kernel is risky I heard. not sure how i should start

Go for the kernel route. Find a CWM'd kernel that supports your current version of stock ROM and flash that. ROM Manager performs badly even on supported devices so don't even think about it.
And... The risk of flashing a kernel/ROM is something you eventually have to get over if you want your device better

ok thanks!! I'll start lookin' for the right kernel if you have any recommendations just let me know =D
ok I downloaded a kernel (didn't flash it yet). I downloaded this kernel > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2318550 and i'm gonna download odin to flash it with but i don't think it's a .tar file so will odin work???? also i guess i'll just download the latest version of odin...?? it said that some versions aren't compatible with some devices.
EDIT it's a .zip file. i think you need cwm to flash it. please tell me if i'm wrong. but i don't have cwm. so i think i might have to choose another kernel ??
also will flashing that kernel erase my third-party apps or app data??
and when i get this kernel on, will I be able to run cm11 on here or will i have to get a different kernel to run on that??
also i think this vid might be a good one. but he never says that he does a nandroid backup or anything

Yeah this kernel is CWM only, so no go. As far as Odin compatibility goes, no, the latest version won't always work with anything. Use Odin 1.8x if you can (mine is 1.85 for my Player 4.0 and Captivate, should be the same for Galaxy S-family devices).
Kernels don't wipe any of your data, though flashing a wrong kernel which causes bootloop may do.
After flashing the corresponding kernel, get into CWM recovery and start flashing CM or the ROM you want as per the instructions given in the ROM's post. All AOSP-based ROMs run different (and incompatible) kernels than stock so don't worry about kernels once you're in.

so what kernel should i get? it has to be a Gingerbread one right? since i'm still on stock gingerbread rom. should I use Entropy's Daily Driver? that would be the only other one, right?
and once i get a jellybean or a kk rom wouldn't it be a good idea to get a better kernel?? like one made for a kk or jb? would it be faster? but then i would have to switch kernels if i would for any reason want to go back to stock gb rom??

I have a Player 4.0 instead of a 5.0 so unfortunately can't help you with finding the right kernel. Yes it's best for stock Gingerbread, but if you find Froyo ones, they can also be used. Do note that you can't boot into Gingerbread with a Froyo kernel, so use its CWM to flash whatever you want immediately afterwards.
I don't know of any JB/KK custom kernels, and since Player's single core CPU has its limitations, a custom kernel won't make it much better. At least on my IncS, even overclocking to 1.6GHz won't help with KK eating up my resources.
GB, JB, KK - kernels for different versions of Android are usually not cross-compatible, so you *must* switch kernel if you want to fall back to GB.

thank you very much for your help. i was able to flash a custom kernel and get cwm. thanks you helped a lot
now i got the rom i was gonna flash downloaded it and extracted it. and i shouldn't have extracted it. then i was trying to flash it and i discovered i messed up. so i pulled the sd card out (which i had a complete nandroid backup on.) [the real mistake] and decided to start over. like, put the zipped files on the sd card. so i put the zips (unextracted) onto my micro sd but it can't mount the sd. so i think i'm like screwed. please help me
oh and when i boot all i see is the samsung logo, then it goes straight to cwm recorvery. I can also get into download mode. so I can get into cwm but my recovery is on my micro sd and it can't mount it. (i did a nandroid backup but it doesn't benefit me now. i also have to backup on my pc, but my pc doesn't wanna recognize it) did i brick it??
what i did...went into cwm wipe data/factory reset and wiped it. next > mounts and storage and clicked format system, and formatted it. then last i wiped dalvik cache. then i went to flash the rom (CM9) and it didn't flash. (because i had extracted it on the pc. it no longer was a .zip) don't know what i was thinkin' but yeah...
as of now i'm gonna start looking for threads to fix it.
i don't think samsung kies is working right either. :/ http://i.imgur.com/WV0iBPk.jpg
please help me unbrick it or whatever i need to do. only made one small mistake and now all this... :'( if you know anything about how to fix it pls reply. i need all the help i can get. thanks ...

Easy, bro. Does your current CWM recovery have a "sideload" option? Look for that either in the main menu or in the "install zip from sdcard" section. If you have that, then you could try sideloading a ROM directly from your PC to your device and it will flash automatically. For more instructions, just Google "ADB sideload".
If that doesn't cut it... Grab Odin and a stock GB firmware (these should be floating around in Dev section), flash that by Odin, and your Player gets returned to GB stock condition, where you can start over.

no it doesn't have a sideload option anywhere. i have odin. and for the firmware, doesn't it have to be in the .tar form for odin to flash it?? i'll check that out. btw thanks !!
but the computer doesn't wanna recognize my device. so how can i flash anything??
EDIT do you think i could flash my nandroid backup through odin?? it has .tar files and one .md5 file, but 2 that aren't. i'll post a screen shot. but if i flash each of the .tar files and the .md5 file via odin do you think it would work? that file is only a .md5 though and not a .tar.md5 so idk

No, nandroid backups won't be recognized by Odin. Just try finding a stock firmware out there. If you want your data back from your nandroid backup, you can always restore everything to normal first, then restore that nandroid and do whatever you please.
