Are there any JB or ICS Roms out for the droid x2 that support HDMI video and audio? I have seen some that support video but not audio. How hard is it to get audio working on these roms?
Thanks.
I run eclipse 2.3, i have sound and video with HDMI cables.

Yea, elcipse seems to be the only rom that fully supports audio and video over HDMI. Unfortunately it looks like all the JB and ICS Roms don't support audio. I don't know why, but they just don't.

Not sure about a 1080p camera but there is 1080p recording for the Atrix on various roms. You could try the droid 3 camera.

is that a HD camara ?
You can't do 1080p properly on the Atrix yet. All current methods to "hack" this have been proven to be not 100% 1080p. Be happy with great 720p until Motorola releases an update enabling 1080p, (or "if" they release an update).
If you want to go ahead and use one of the current hacks, obviously nobody can/is going to stop you. Just be aware that 1080p recording is not currently capable on this device. It may say 1080p.................doesn't mean it is 1080p.
1080p playback was enabled with 2.3.4.

lol well that clears everything up lol . Thanks
Anyone know if there is a ROM out there for our lovely tablet where HDMI audio for 5.1 or even multichannel works at all?
I've been using stock since ICS came about. It sucks as they have not resolved this matter. It worked fine with Honeycomb.
Anyway, I don't feel like flashing a bunch of ROM's at this point unless it appears promising. Input very much welcome and appreciated.
Thanks all.
Sorry if this topic has been done to death, but do any of the ICS versions for the G-Tablet have working HDMI audio, through the dock or otherwise? It's the one feature remaining that I'd really like to have for TV viewing (I suppose I can run analog audio-out to my receiver), This is not meant as a knock against the developers who are working hard to keep the G-Tablet viable, but could you give us an ETA for HDMI audio, or should I start looking at other options? Thanks.

just an FYI that there is a JB ROM for the Gtab that now outputs both Audio and Video via HDMI.
Check out Smooth JB in development.

Thanks. I've been using it for several days now and HDMI audio and video both work well. Thanks to nobe1976 for getting it done.

Currently working on Smooth ICS to see about getting it to work on it as well. Thanks for the props.
qith smooth bean ics yes hdmi audio works
Tried a few of the JB ROMs lately and they all connect to my ford Touch/sync with a "Bluetooth audio stream detected" rather than providing interactive play/pause rw/ff buttons. Audio plays but has to be managed from the device.
Anyone else seen this and know a solution?
Headphones interact fine over Bluetooth.

The stereo probably doesn't support A2DP controls.

It works perfect on my car stereo. I'm running JamieD81's Jelly Bean ROM. I don't think there's anything new.
Is it the kernel or the modem or something else that controls the modem signal? I was on King-Kang and enjoying life with Bluetooth but updated to one of the JB ROMs and ever since I don't get play/pause rw/ff controls from my car.
I've even gone back to King-Kang and Emily(GB) ROMs which from my About Phone installs different kernels and basebands(modem?) still nothing.
The phone updates are the only thing different. No updates to the car, no setting changes -I'm the only driver of it.
Thanks for any help.
Has anyone tried this device with Miracast/Samsung Link (screen mirroring)? Using a Netgear PTV3000 Push2TV with the Galaxy Mega 6.3 (AT&T) the audio quality is extremely poor without any definition, sounding like mono with no bass or treble extension. I used a Note3 (AT&T) with the same Netgear PTV3000 and it sounded great. Both devices had identical and mostly excellent video quality via the PTV3000 (as long as no other programs are running or you aren't multitasking on the device). The audio/video was tested on the Mega and the Note3 using MX player, Pandora and the Android stock music (MP3) players.
I read on this forum the Mega stock video player does not support AC3 or DTS encoding of which I didn't test but I don't know if that factors in or if something else is going on. The Mega is running Android 4.2.2 stock ROM and rooted. The Note3 is running Android 4.3 stock ROM and also rooted. The PTV3000 is now updated to the latest firmware 2.4.26 and I have manually reset the device using the reset button on the back as well. Also, using a genuine Samsung MHL 2.0 (white) HDMI adapter both devices play audio and video without any sound or video quality issues.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. I'm sure I left out some important details.
Sorry to hear you have this trouble. First off please make sure that you turn off any audio effects on the Mega. Secondly I am sorry to say, the decoding chip on the Mega is maybe not powerful enough for what you're trying to do. Thirdly, Maybe you can try a different player. I have had good results with the Archos video player on the Mega. Good luck!

What audio effects that you mention could be enabled/disabled? Where would they be located to change? I have gone through the device and only found the option to change the HDMI audio between stereo and 5.1. The solution you mentioned could help with playing audio in videos but it persists in Pandora streaming radio along with the stock music player too. I was thinking the same thing regarding the device itself after researching and thinking about the embedded hardware, there may be a limitation to what the device can do though I would expect it to be in the video encoding performance over Miracast and not the audio quality. I will try it out though and see how it works. Thanks.
I was referring to the system setting. Go into settings then accessibility. Tab sound balance and make sure it's in the middle. Then also uncheck mono audio.

You might not believe this but after reading a suggestion on another message board plugging in headphones and then unplugging them triggers high quality audio over Miracast on the Mega. It leads me to believe this is a ROM issue. Any thoughts?
