Is this normal - 121 wake ups in two and half hours?

No it isn't, are you running any apps in the back that uses maps or location services? Try stopping the app also.

The only thing running in the background that might use maps is Google Now/Search and Google Location Service.
I don't have anything else running that would use maps...

2.go to settings>location services and uncheck all 3 choices (leave use wireless networks if you want)
3.go to settings>account and click google accounts>location and uncheck all services g. accounts>ads uncheck all services.

I just picked this phone up yesterday and I am noticing when I go from my key dialler to my contacts there is sometimes up to a 4 sec delay. Is there anything I can do to fix this? An alternative app I can use? I only have 100 contacts as well
Try clearing data in application manager - phone apps

Any suggestion, or any other application?
U had that problem too, you can't turn that off, the developers have to sort that out, that is if they want to. I liked that app but the vioces really pissed me off

I found the solution:
For those who wants to try it do the following with your Samsung S3: - Go to Settings -> Accessibility -> Talkback "ON" - Select "Settings" from the bottom of the page - Uncheck all Talkback options - Switch Talkback "Off" again - Go back to Settings -> Application manager -> All - Disable Google TTS (text to speech) - Disable Samsung TTS (text to speech)

Is there a way to make Google Now use waze as default navigation?
I found a thread on waze.com that says to click on the map instead of navigate button and it will ask, but its not doing that, even after clearing my defaults.

Go to Settings -> App Associations and select Waze for "map address" instead of maps.

I am on viper rom. I have floating notifications installed, and in order to enable floating notifications it has to be enabled in accessibility. I have talk back disabled, but for some reason my still wants to talk back screen selections. any ideas as to why?

Oh nooooo!!! I enabled that the other day, and it took me 30 minutes to turn it off, as having it on will not allow u to scroll down. Go back into it and make sure it's off. Also, under your app settings, force close Google TTS.

I forced closed Google text to speech, and I even forced stopped talk back. Talkback is off in the accessibility settings. Now what I've been doing to see if my phone has stopped speaking, I have been opening up instagram, and every time I open instagram my phone says "instagram news". It also does the same whenever I open the browser. Any other ideas?

I'm not sure what i did because it was over a year ago, but I was able to use voice to text from clicking the speaker button in my keyboard. On any app anytime without Wi-Fi and with data off. Does anyone know where I got that ability? Gtalk enabler? Offline vtt? Idk I'm sure it was a zip or apk but I can't remember what. Google search had no results. I was using task650 4.1.2 unicorn JB rom

Look under the Language & Input settings in System settings: you have to enable Google Voice typing, then it will work.
Lol. I just noticed it was preinstalled just didn't know how to activate it. Thanks
