Is there a way to make Google Now use waze as default navigation?
I found a thread on waze.com that says to click on the map instead of navigate button and it will ask, but its not doing that, even after clearing my defaults.

Go to Settings -> App Associations and select Waze for "map address" instead of maps.

Brand new phone, maybe I made a mistake on setup but doubt it. Why is gmail not my default email upon clicking 'email dev' in the play store, instead it goes to my yahoo pop accounts?
Thanks.

Open your regular mail app(NOT the gmail app, but make sure you are on your gmail account obviously), then click on the "menu" button, then click "settings", then click "general settings", and then you'll see a check box that says "make default account"
No luck. Clearing defaults button appeared to initially work until I tested it, no prompt for action, went straight to yahoo. Second option didn't work either, general settings for mail shows a greyed out checkmark for default app and does not allow me to uncheck it, no option for default in gmail.

app launcher >settings > app associations >email > compose gmail

Mine is set to "compose mail" under app associations. I dont use the gmail app so I didnt check the compose gmail option. The way I suggested earlier should have worked for you. Thats really weird. Did you do the same steps I listed for your other email accounts to make sure that one of them wasnt checked off as the default account?
Either way, as long as your problem is resolved its all good. Im just curious as to why the other way wouldnt work.

Glad I could help. HTC made that menu to get around the Apple patent issue
Is this normal - 121 wake ups in two and half hours?

No it isn't, are you running any apps in the back that uses maps or location services? Try stopping the app also.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
The only thing running in the background that might use maps is Google Now/Search and Google Location Service.
I don't have anything else running that would use maps...

try these following procedures (works for me :victory: )
1. go to settings>All (Tab)> and try disabling and stop some applications that run im back ground.
2.go to settings>location services and uncheck all 3 choices (leave use wireless networks if you want)
3.go to settings>account and click google accounts>location and uncheck all services g. accounts>ads uncheck all services.
try it and hope it helps. :fingers-crossed: (works for me )
Google Voice Typing is no longer available on the the keyboard for text messaging. The microphone icon is now missing, and under Settings>Language and Keyboard, Google Voice Typing is greyed out and unavailable. Anybody else have this issue? I used this option a lot before updating to JB.

I'm sorry, but I'm using the Standard (Qwerty) and I don't see anything next to the space bar, and long pressing it does nothing but type multiple spaces.

Thanks. I just shut down my phone completely and re-started it after a couple of minutes and the microphone icon is there over the period. I had done this after updating JB, PRI, and PRL but I guess it didn't take. Second re-start worked. Thanks again.

No matter what my htc weather clock always shows me in the wrong place with the wrong weather data, is there a fix for this?
This happens on my mom's phone and I haven't found a fix for it yet.

Hey guys, I updated to JB (Slick Rom not AT&T stock), downloaded Google Now (Google Search) from play store and I really enjoy using it. But whenever I get "next appointment card" telling me to leave for an appointment, it's based off of driving direction, is it possible to change it to public transportation which is what I use most of the time?
Speaking of the usefulness of that card, wouldn't it be awesome if we're able to choose transportation mode (driving, public transport, biking, walking) when setting up an appointment in Google calendar, Google Now then shows you the travel time from the chosen transportation mode?
Look around the Google maps navigation settings. Not sure if it'll stick to Google Now

Open up Google now and tap the question mark icon in the corner and I think the option is in there.

That is for the traffic card where tapping the icon on the upper right corner expands transportation mode. Nothing for the appointment card though.
