Damn, GSII Is coming may first, I love the NS but man GSII is a beast, I have the money right now for NS but Im sure GSII will be a LOT.
What do YOU think?

Hang on..
Nexus S is just another version of the original galaxy
Absolutely, its miles ahead as far as the advancements are concerned.
1Ghz vs 1.2Ghz Dual Core Cortex A9's on the S II
512MB Ram vs 1GB Ram on the S II
4 in SAMOLED vs 4.3 in SAMOLED +
patience, my friend...
Galaxy S 2 is worth waiting for.
I wouldnt mind waiting if I had the money, but I feel like I need to stop switching phones so much, I may go with NS for a year or 2, It has all I need after after all, I dont root or rom so in all honesty I think all that 1gb ram, dual core stuff I wont need, all I do is play music web browse, use phone and use some apps, thats it...I dont see the need to wait and spend even more for things that I dont need, I really need to stop getting phone after phone because some new specs come out, NS has all I need, hopefully it will be like that for a couple years until I really need a new phone rather then want, I know the techies want the latest and greatest but to the average user, they dont care as long as it has the things you need rather then ram, processer etc, I need to start thinking like that rather then drooling over every new phone, its a waste of money.
Just my opinion, hopefully NS can last me.

I also am not prone to change phones often. My current phone is an HTC Touch Dual I've had for like 4 years.BUT I like to buy the best when I do; which right now happens to be the Galaxy SII. That's why I've preordered already.
In that case, it is better to somewhat future proof your investment by buying the current technology and utilizing it to the fullest.
SGSII will be better for you in the long run.
Samsung Galaxy S2, no doubt about it, lol.
Yea but how much lol? I can get the NS for $560, whats the GSII gonna be? $700?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
We can't tell you for sure until it's announced in each region, but it's definitely worth the wait to find out. You're talking about buying a last gen phone vs a cutting edge phone basically. Do you want to spend $500 and have an already outdated phone, or maybe roughly the same, maybe a little more for a top of the line phone? The Nexus S is a great phone for sure, but this is a fast paced industry and with the dual core CPUs and the new SAMOLED+ screen, I think it's worth the wait and maybe a little more money.
Its a no brainer for me.
SII of course.
Perhaps waiting for a few weeks will give you some clear cut details on the launch and costing.
SGS II without a doubt. The Nexus S is a great phone, but doesn't hold a candle to the SGS II.
Yea get the galaxy s 2 just don't expect any software updated...

That is where the phone being not boot-locked and XDA developers come in...and personaly for me this will be the deciding factor as I know how slow both my carrier (A$&$) and Samsung about releasing software updates.rolleyes:
Samsung have been improving with frequence of updates however...at least for some phones...
Nexus S is a cool phone but I could never understand why they castrated some parts off of it.
Updates are nice, yes, but since the phone comes with 2.3, it probably won't be a big deal to me. The wait from 2.1 to 2.2 was horrible because Flash is such a huge addition, but have they said what the killer feature will be past Gingerbread? I doubt it'll be as huge as Flash was.
Went ahead and got the NS, glad I did, I will be happy with it as it is the full google experience, great looking phone, SAmoled, I mean it has everything I need, Im sure the SAmoled+ will be cool but thats the main thing I would want, back when I had the captivate only things I wanted was that ATT would not block apps, a camera flash, and a FFC, now I have it all! What more do I need, perhaps in 1 1/2-2 years I get the Dual Core stuff, but for now Im sure the NS will be perfect for me and my needs.
You have my sincere condolences.

But profit from it though, it's still a great Android Phone.
meh not everyone obsesses over the latest gadgets, I used to but not anymore.
Hey guys, I've got kinda a two parter question..
The first is this, do you think the SGS2 will be able to keep up as a leading Android phone or at least pretty high end for another year or two? Also will development keep up for much longer? Or would it be more logical to wait for the SGS3 and go for that?
And, assuming it would stay active and strong, do you think the price would drop once the SGS3 comes out dramatically? As in is it worth getting it now or should I wait for the SGS3 one way or the other.
Thanks in advanced!
The hardware of the sgs II is pretty nice. As you can see, the xperia s and the new htc smartphones (one s, one x) got sgs II-hardware.
This means our lovely galaxy will stay at top of all for at least a few more month. Then the sgs III will be released.
Thanks to apples 4s, htc one s x and the xperia s the sgs II is nowhere near being outdated.
One more thing, 4.3 inch is the limit for me! I dont see why people would buy the sgs III with a 4.65 inch display.
thats true haha, the size is the thing that worries me... however the screen covers more of the front so im thinking the actual SIZE of the phone won`t be that much greater
I can get a rooted with ICS installed SGS2 for 400$... is that good you think?
the only thing pulling me to SGS3 is how much longer itll probably last than the SGS2 just being released over a year later... but price worries me of it too since people are guessing over 800 and thats too much for me :S
Also would be nice for continued dev support
Try and get it cheaper without root and ICS as you can apply both of those yourself with all the guides available here. I'm not sure what the selling price is for the gs2 is in $, so the price you quoted could be cheap as it is lol

Yeah no they're all around 400$ give or take 25, all i would need is to make sure that the screen has NO scratches and that it works XD the root and ICS was just a bonus haha
I'm guessing it's probably best to get a phone that hasn't been flashed or altered. At least that way you'll know the original firmwares etc of the phone.

That's a good point... less risky. My main thing is, is the SGS3 gonna be worth the 2 month+ wait and the extra like 300$+... waiting isn't a big deal, 300-400 dollars is XD
Pretty much in the same boat as you. My contract with Sprint will be up this Summer, so looking into a GS3 (or other quadcore handset). I've heard the GS3 may launch next month in England, though not sure about the rest of the world. I've read conflicting reports on whether there will be a unified global launch, so it's possible N. America will have to wait until Fall again.
Another thing to note is that while Tegra 3 is benchmarking better than all the dual core ARM processors out there, it performs really poorly compared to Apple's A5X chip. Given this, it's probably not a stretch that SG3's Exynos 3 will outperform it as well. There's also Snapdragon, though that isn't expected until Q4.

That's probably because the iPad 3 has a quad core gpu. Plus you have to remember Tegra 3 was already late to the game. It was supposed to be out last summer but as usual Nvidia can never deliver anything on time!
Also no apps seem to be using more than 2 cores. Most are only utilizing 1.
The quad Exynos will only come close to the A5X gpu performance if they use at least a dual core Mali 600.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
One of the main reasons im considering the SGS3 is cause i think that android and apps are starting to become optimized for more than single core.
For me though the main selling point isn't actually the GPU, but rather the huge battery (anything over 2k is awesome!) and the tons of RAM, nice internal storage, SD card, and if this phone is any indication, probably good dev support I would get the HTC One S if it werent for the no SD card and pretty small battery :/

Really? That's unfortunate. I thought ICS automated much of this, though I suppose it makes sense that each developer would need to add support from their end.

I know. The Nexus Prime has that issue as well. I'd imagine flashing ROMs would be unnecessarily complicated, since they have one giant partition.

I'm not so sure about that, i think it wouldn't cause too much trouble, but the thing is with 16 gb of internal memory, after ICS and sense and bloat, that'll leave probably less than 10gb of actually usable memory which is too little for me in the long run :/

I believe it is up to the developer. Same as hardware acceleration.
Hell even Adobe Photoshop only used a single core all the way up to CS5.

I would just go for the S2 as soon as the retailers in your area starts to sell them out cheap (to get rid of stock before launch of S3).
It's a great phone, still getting updates from Samsung - resulting in great mods from the XDA community.
And when the time comes that you'll be needing more power, just overclock it - extending the lifetime of it (for your use, NOT the phone itself).

Yeah that was definitely one of things I was considering, IF the price drops by saaay.. 30%? Bring it from 600 to 400 new, I think I could go for that. But if the SGS3 is less than 800 its definitely in my radar

This sounds very much like the deliberation I have when buying any new piece of tech, such as a laptop, always looking for the next new thing and wondering whether to wait or take the plunge now.
I would vote for an SGS2. It's a super phone with a massive modding community behind it to at least push it for another 1.5 to 2 years. I've had mine since July of last year and I'm only now seeing other phones catching up so you certainly would be behind the times with an SGS2.
Hey everybody..
I have decided to buy new phone and I've shortlisted down to HTC One X+, Sony Xperia T and LG Nexus 4
If there's another I should consider please let me know
As u know,
HTC One X+ has a 1.7GHz quad core tegra 3 processor with a 1GB RAM
Sony Xperia T has a dual core 1.5GHz Krait with a 1GB RAM
LG Nexus 4 has a 1.6GHz Quad core Krait with 2GB RAM
I know the nexus seems to be the obvious choice when it comes to performance but I'm not familiar with LG's build quality. Also, the phone is expected to be not more than 350USD which in itself makes me doubt the quality.
People with knowledge about the hardware please help me out here.. I'm spending a lot of money and want to make sure i don't make the wrong choice.
Edit:
Also considering the LG Optimus G now coz the reviews r pretty good
LG isn't as bad as ppl think it is. Nexus products are undoubtedly good.

for me its best wait another bit because i think google will do like with nexus 7.now lg nexus 8\16,then after a month,2 or 3,also upper storage at a bit more price..just my suggestion, but i seriously think they will do so.Anyways,in that comparison,lg nexus 4 all the way.at least also the sony, but man,a nexus is a nexus!in 2016 probably you will have in this day upcoming the android 8.0 for lg nexus 4.think of it
the hardware matters more to me.. u can always get a custom rom but u cant change the hardware.. and also, im not considering ne phone bigger than 4.7 inches.. so nexus 7 is outta the picture.. so is note 2.

If HTC or Sony come out with a quad core krait phone il b the first one to buy it
Sent from my Xperia X10 using xda app-developers app
I've be thinking myself about getting either the Nexus 4 of the HTC One X+ (I'm not considering the Sony phone).
First, keep in mind that the reason the Nexus 4 is so inexpensive, for an unlocked phone, is because Google is deliberately selling it at cost (as a sort of loss leader) to get people into their cloud services and ecosystem. They're also trying to entice people into unlocked devices and do an end run around the carriers and all their demands. And, since this is the developer phone, Google has an interest in making it appealing for developers to purchase and, well, develop apps for Android. So the cost is not a reflection of the quality of the phone. It's a choice by Google to sell the phone cheaply. Lastly, flash storage is super expensive and Google has put very little into this device (16GB max), so that big shortcoming also helps keep the cost down (the HTC One X+ will have either twice, 32GB, or four times, 64GB, as much storage).
That aside, I've been reading a lot of reviews of the Nexus 4 (Engadget, Wired, Tech Crunch, The Verge, Slashgear, Gizmodo--perhaps a couple others I don't remember off hand). I really want to love the Nexus 4, but it has a lot of shortcomings.
Obviously it does not have LTE, which does not make it very future proof. And it offers max only 16GB of storage, with no SD card.
Despite having the latest greatest quad-core processor out there, a number of reviews have benchmarked the phone and show it gets scores not as good previous generation phones (like the original HTC One X beats it). That makes no sense. Perhaps it's a software issue that will be corrected before release, but you might want to wait and see.
Another weird problem is that a number of reviewers have found it's battery life to be poor. Engadget called it "pathetic." This is despite the fact that it has a large 2100 mAh battery (same as in the One X+) and a new supposedly more efficient processor, yet it doesn't even get as good battery life as the orginal One X with a smaller battery and a less efficient processor.
The camera on the Nexus 4 is also supposed to be passable, but not great. A step up form the poor cameras in previous Nexus devices, but definitely not as good as flagship devices like the Galaxy SIII and the One X/X+ (or the amazing Nokia Lumia 920).
Another issue, for me, is the glass back. I feel like, didn't we already learn from the iPhone 4 that glass backs are a bad idea? Isn't this something just waiting to break? The reviewer at The Verge already cracked the glass back on his review unit, when he accidentally knocked the phone off of a table onto a hardwood floor. And the reviewer at Tech Crunch said that the smooth back of the phone makes it want to slide, a couple times taking off when he placed it on a surface that was more slanted than he expected. So the back is prone to breaking and also makes the phone want to slide away. Not a good combination.
A number of reviewers have also said the the volume in the earpiece is low and it can be difficult to hear callers in noisy environments. Although other reviewers said there is plenty of volume. And a couple reviewers note that the prefectly flat back of the phone means that when you put it down, the speaker is covered and this muffles sound (the ringer, any audio you might be playing).
Several reviewers have also said that the IPS LCD screen has washed out colors or a slightly blue/cool tint. They say the screen is amazing and amongst the best, but not as good as the similar technology based screen in the One X+.
So when it comes down to it, I have the impression that the Nexus 4 isn't quite up to the standards of other true flagship phones, like the One X+. It falls a little short in too many places. The only places where it really stands out are the latest and greatest processor (though it's not clear the OS has been properly optimized for it), 2GB of RAM, and it's a pure Android phone.
I think the reason to get the Nexus 4 is either because you want a pure Android unlocked phone (which certainly appeals to me) or because it's a good deal for an unlocked phone.
But otherwise the One X+ has a better screen, a sturdier and for some more appealing design (with its solid carbonate shell), better audio quality, better cpu benchmarks, better battery life, much more internal storage, a better camera, and LTE (depending on what model you get). And hopefully eventually you could put Cyanogen or another custom ROM on it and have a pure Android experience anyway. As you note the Optimus G could also be an option, but it's not a phone that appeals to me.

Thanks for the in depth opinion ok so then nexus 4 is off my list.. what abt optimus g v.s. one x+?
i'm leaning towards the s4 pro chipset.. each core of the krait can be independently clocked at a particular frequency.. thats gotta increase efficiency right??
plus adreno 320 is a helluva lot faster than its predecessors and supposedly quite a bit faster than the competition..
the only prob for me is that the optimus is coming out in india only by jan '13 im not sure if its worth the wait.. any ideas on that?
The software on the nexus 4 isn't the final version, so wait until the consumer version comes out!

I wouldn't totally write off the Nexus 4 yet. I'm still considering it. Partly because it is a very good deal, for an unlocked phone. The One X+ or Xperia T and Optimus G will probably cost almost twice as much, unlocked.
And I think devgee is correct that the review units for the Nexus 4 did not have the final consumer version of the software on them yet. This might address the battery life and cpu benchmark issues. (It's unfortunate the reviews get published on devices that aren't really what will ship, because any improvements or changes can get overlooked later. I don't know if these reviewers will go back and retest the device.)
For me, it's the minimal storage on the Nexus 4 that makes me hesitate the most, but maybe I can learn to live with it.
If you like the Optimus G, it's definitely worth considering, since it doesn't have the storage limitations of the Nexus 4, and it tested well for battery life and in the cpu benchmarks. And some versions have a higher resolution 13MP camera. But you give up the pure Android experience. And as James.UBC points out, I don't know that it will have as many custom ROM options as the One X+. I don't really like the design of the Optimus G, but that is entirely a superficial reason not to get it and only my personal taste. Some people think it looks great.
I agree that it would be nice to have the S4 Pro chipset. You can also get this in the Asus Padfone 2, which is a cool phone. It also has 2GB of RAM, the Adreno 320, LTE (for certain frequencies), a 2140 mAh battery, and 16/32/64GB storage options. Plus there's the tablet attachement, if you're into that. Its big downside is that it may have no custom ROMs for it at all, if you want that. I think the original Padfone had basically no development. It's a bit puzzling, because this is a cool phone.
I also agree with James.UBC that the One X+ has a great design. To me its main downsides are that it will be much more expensive than the Nexus 4, unlocked (probably $600US or more). And I don't know if it will have an unlocked bootloader, depending on which version I want to get. And even if it does, I'll have to wait for the development community to catch up and release a ROM that will give me a stock-like Android experience (I don't like Sense). And of course, it has a very good CPU, but one from the previous generation of architecture. I tend to keep my phones for a while, so something that is as future proof as possible is good for me.
Anyway, I recommend that you read reviews of the devices you're interested in on the sites I mentioned in my first post and search around for other reviews. Reviews are easy to find and you get a sense pretty quickly of how thoughtful and knowledgeable the reviewer is. Then keep an eye out in the reviews for comments about the features that matter to you and any problems mentioned. I wouldn't take any one particular review as necessarily right. But if you read several, you start to get a feel for what the issues are.
In the end, you probably can't go wrong with any of these devices either. It really comes down to a matter of personal taste and which features are most important to you. No one device is the best one for everybody.
Thanks a lot cb474.. for me, storage is very important and so is camera.. price comes later in the priority list.. development is also important..
nexus 4 will only have 11~12GB of user available space.. on my x10, i have a 16GB microsd with an ext3 partition of ~700MB which is almost full.. in spite of that i have used up more than 11GB on the sd so i dont think 11GB overall free mem will b enough for me
so my options should be the optimus g (which has an average camera), one x+ (has old generation hardware), xperia t (has dual core with only 1GB ram)... arggghhh!!!
padphone 2 is also gr8 but if theres no dev on it then i'm not willing to go for it
ok this thread has reached a dead end for now.. will wait for the said phones to release and get better reviews..
thanks folks!!
Yeah, it's a hard decision to make. I remain torn between the Nexus 4 and One X+. I care about storage too. 16GB is just a little paltry, for the reasons you point out. At least 32GB would have been nice. Some people think there's a chance there will be a refresh of the Nexus 4 in a few months, with more storage. But I've learned my lesson in the past, about waiting around for rumored and speculated phones.
I'm also a little concerned about the mediocre battery life the Nexus 4 is currently getting, although it's with pre-release software. I'm a bit in a wait and see mode on that.
I agree that as nice as the Padfone 2 is, without development, it's ruled out for me. I presonally would not consider the Sony because of the dual core processor.
It's true the One X+ has a previous generation hardware, but only six months ago it was cutting edge, so I feel like it's splitting hairs a bit. On the other hand, if gaming is important to you the newer generation cpu and gpu in the Nexus 4/Optimus G will make a difference. The bigger long term (future proof) limitation of the One X+, to me, is the 1GB or RAM. But I think it's still a nice phone worth considering.
Still, as I said, if you like the Optimus G, it seems like a good choice. Yeah the One X+ camera hardware is better, it's software is supposed to have a slightly annoying continuous autofocus function. But on some level all these phones are good enough. The great phone cameras are in the Nokia phones, the Lumia 920 and the 808 Pureview. Unless that's super imporant to you, I think it may not be the most important point for the decision.
Good luck in deciding. I'm waiting for more reviews too.
I know this isn't going to be the most unbiased place for honest opinions but I'm up for a dealer line on AT&T and I can choose from a couple different devices. I can get the S3, Optimus G, and One X+. I've always loved HTC phones and ESPECIALLY love the way the HOX feels in hand. I went into AT&T and tried playing around with the Optimus G but was turned off by how wide it felt in my hand. It's not Note wide but still wider than I'd like a phone to feel in my hand. I thought I was gonna fall in love with the screen but the One X is still a little better. The ONLY thing (and the reason I'm here) holding me back is the RAM. I'm not going to be tweaking the hell outta my phone, but I plan on unlocking it and putting a few custom ROM's on there. I just wanna know how limiting the 1GB of RAM is going to be for me? More is obviously better, but from an end result how important is it? Thanks guys. And one last question, how far along is development for ROM's? Is it comparable to something like the S3? Or better?
It's not 1 gig of ram it's 1.7 quad-core and very fast and smooth I can't speak on the other phones mentioned but I'm pleased with it.

Paradoxically I suggest Samsung.
2 is more than 1.
The HTC is as fast as laptop and sound is amazing if you play high res flacs.
Gotta love these useless threads. Oh please tell me what to get, I can't read phone specs on my own, I can't have a mind of my own, I need someone to tell me. Oh geez. Just go to ATT and play with em all. Walk out with what feels right.
I'm not one to "tell you" what to get, but I've had all 3 (S3, Optimus G, and finally, the HTC One X+) and I can easily say, the HTC is the best physical designed phone, while the Optimus G is way to wide for my liking. I also didn't like the S3 because of its plasticy build and that it only had a dual-core and wasn't new hardware. I'm really digging the HTC and am gonna keep that.
P.S. From what I've read on other forums, the HTC's 1GB of RAM is faster than the 2GB of RAM, but I still would have preferred the Snapdragon S4 Pro and 2GB RAM over the Tegra 3 and 1GB RAM.
Hope this helped!
I think its simpler.
Don't forget that Samsung produce memory for different devices. For them fit 1Gb or 2Gb its not cost effecting final product but as we can see it works as marketing.
And even that little thing stops buying HTC.
Phone its very fast and can close all apps as to start it again is almost the same time.
I agree with you on the optimus, had the s3 and I just didnt like the samsung home button and ran kinda of hot for me. I ended up going with the "2 gb ram" note 2, hello a bigger s3 and returned that as well and now have an htc one x+ and so far pretty pleased. It kinda reminds me of my favorite smaller android devices that I got early on which was the htc aria. Just feels right in the hands so far and very powerful. I'd definitely go with the one x+ from the ones you mention.
Phones only need 1GB of ram. My note had 2GB of ram but i see no performance advantages to having it.

The S3 for AT&T had a dualcore Snapdragon S4 as it has LTE support.

This is pretty much what I was asking about. I wanted to know if HOX's 1GB really puts it at a disadvantage vs other 2GB RAM devices. Especially in the next year or so.
FYI:
On Android OS free RAM is dead RAM as discussed here
I never had ANY problems with running out of RAM on my One X nor my One X+
If a capped RAM of 1GB would be a problem for totally now mobile devices, these forums would be flöooded...go figure!

The two Meg of memory have a rather noticeable impact making multitasking much more powerful letting more apps run in parallel and reducing lags due to gc.
However, the one x+ apparently does some trickery to keep a good amount of memory free (even though the official Android parameters are still set lower).
In short, 2GB are a plus, but the one x+ never lets you feel the 1GB "limit". All runs smooth as butter...

Painful legacy left Windows more and more memory.
You didn't write what phones you had before but I think One X is one of the best and like everyone here I am pleased.
You don't need that 2Gb. Its plays with big files faster than my brand new laptop. And don't crash like Windows.
You will be happy.
If you go to shop you can find that those guys use stereotypes or therms what they read or heard.
Also they are on commission what sell. So can direct you somewhere else.

I've had an Evo before, a Galaxy S2, Lumia 900, couple Blackberries, etc. Pretty much a bunch of midrange devices through different OS'es. This is my first jump into flagship territory and just about the only two things holding me back from the One X+ are the 1GB of RAM and the mixed reviews on the Tegra 3 vs say a Snapdragon S4 or other dual core chips. I sell phones myself and that's why I cam get an OG, HOX+, or S3 right now. I wanted to just wait for the N4, but tbh I wasn't completely blown away by it. I initially looked at the G until I held that and the HOX+ in hand and I really liked the way it felt. So I may just go in and change that order.
Thanks for all the advice guys.
I came from a long line of HTC phones. I decided to give the s3 a shot. I used it for about two weeks and I flashed some custom roms. All the software and performance were great. However my main reason to exchanging it for the X+ was the s3 build quality. At the end of the day your phone is a phone. How does it feel in your hand? Can you use it with one hand? I could not get over the plasticy feel and loose bottoms. Side note on the loose buttons: I had the sales rep show me 3 brand new s3s they all had loose or some what loose buttons. I have to say the build quality and performance are fantastic on the X+. Exactly what I was looking for.

Till now, 1gb of ram is enough on HOX+ as it's fast & smooth. I suffered with huge amount of installed apps on my Galaxy Nexus in term of ram (1gb). But I never noticed that with same apps on HOX+.
As the new Nexus is coming with 2gb ram, I think 2gb of ram will be needed soon.

Looks like Nexus soon will get more operational memory than for apps and music.
Is internal memory slow? How many heads has a disk in HTC. 64Gb could be one. LOL
hello guys...
a pleasant day, now i just found that this mobile down to cheapest price but good in specs...
is this good and worth to buy now? and on what update version of android does this one have?
im not sure which is good and difference between one x and one x+ its just like attractive with 32 gb internal..
pls help me decide on its usage and durabilty now a days...
big thanks guys...

Its a totally awesome phone. Most htc phones have something about them that is noticeably lacking... But not this model. Even today it is just a kick ass device.
But whatever you do, don't buy the attached version. There is a reason they are $100 cheaper on eBay. Basically ZERO Dev support. The international version gets all the goods. Sucks too because the att version works at full speed with any gsm carrier
Buy it dude!! HOX+ is one of the legendary devices.. It's camera is excellent.. on par with the current generation devices..
But on the other side, HOX+ will eventually lose its battery backup capacity easily.. and it becomes hot on continuos usage.. so think carefully before you buy..
'Be careful what you wish for'
Good luck:laugh:

Dont even bother buying this device , i have the AT&T version 64 GB , camera sucks on both INT and At&t , and the device also heats up on games. I have rooted and using custom rom. Buy some new cellphones. Further it had Tegra3 for which there are no more updates available. Its processor is based on 40nm die architecture which is old. Dont buy cellphones with Nvidia Chipsets.

It's a great phone, I've always loved it. But there are better phones, many.
True about the Tegra 3, it heats up while gaming. Battery life is not that great (especially on mine, 2yo).
Camera is acceptable, but I wouldn't call it great. The screen however, is like one of best out there.
Differences between the One X and the One X+ is the internal memory and an upgraded Tegra 3 (for the +).
Additionally also Glosnass support for the +
It's old tech, wouldn't buy it right now. Buy a new generation phone with a newer processor, because the nVidia chipset in this one is outdated.

You must be sick to be recommending not buying Nvidia chipsets. Tegra 3 is one of the best GPUs available right now leaving alone the Tegra 4 which is only available on the Nvidia Shield and other limited number of devices.
I've used some varieties of cell phones and i've found the camera quality one of the best in this device. Running a quad core clocked at 1.7 Ghz and expecting it to not heat up? You must be bull****ting here.
Please dont defame a good phone just because you don't like it for some frickin reason.
Buddy you should update yourself since this phone is stuck at 4.2.2 while Samsung S3 is getting kitkat updates. Further huawei P7 doesnt even heat up on games like San Andreas since my friend and i compared it. One x + no doubt is a lovely phone but please in 2014 dont buy it. Further game experience is laggy. I am using it so i know better..
Goodluck.

It's actually one of the worst now. There are better devices than the X+ by miles. It's based on 2/3? Year old technology. The device is now pretty much classed low or barely middle class, due to no more driver support also we are running on an old kernel with little hope of seeing a recent one... IMO if someone has a choice of devices to get, this one wouldn't be on that list.
Not really

You are bound to make such remarks when you compare old technologies with the new ones. If adopting your terminologies, it should imply that every device should be called as "low class" and/or "worst" at some point of time which is very inappropriate and misleading. You make it sound like upgrading a desktop computer all the time whenever a new hardware peripheral arrives.
In 2004, a set of several devices were released namely HTC Magician, I-Mate JAM, O2 XDA II-Mini and others which took about 3-5 years for them to develop. Later on, upgrading and upscaling to newer models took hardly 1-2 years. Apple's Iphone has had a similar story. In this respect, we should appreciate the older devices more in terms of advent and innovation, otherwise we woudn't have been here fiddling with our quad-cored phones( And Octas ). Personally, I-Mate JAM and Nokia Communicator 9500 are the best devices i've ever had and the older technology does not make it any different. Also, i believe that the older devices had some undefined quality which many people agree with.
In the same principles, there are some devices which some users like and prefer regardless of the fact that whether the company has stopped providing updates and/or support or not. There are too many factors to take into account other than the technology. Speaking in terms of benchmark and power, my preferred devices would easily give up before yours.

Well to expand on we have both said, when a new "high end" device comes out, the older one goes to the low/mid of the high scale then just drops down.....It's how I view it anyway, like the ONE X that was king once upon a time....Now that and with the X+ it's essentially great for a backup (Also the X+ is great for backup). But this is all my opinion on it all, everyone will have different takes on it so I don't want to force my view point. In a way though we are both right.
But hey my devices are a
Nokia 3310
HTC Desire C
X+
Find 5
all have their pro's and con's though more con's for the 1st two

That is very understandable. Different people look at different things differently. Depends on the user's perception because many would support your beliefs and many would mine as well. And we should expect that from a benchmark-hungry developer like you. Developments in technology open gates for you, so yes you should be craving for better devices now and then.
I feel ashamed, knowing the fact that i own more devices than you but am not really a developer. As they say, quantity deceives quality. BTW my old man still loves his Nokia 5190.
