so, m not new to this flashing n etc but wont consider myself as educated about rooting n stuff as most of you guys so i ask you for help!
i was s-off through j.bear method, rooted!,so flashed the ruu from Football weeks ago, ran fine, flashed reecovery gained root. everything was fine untill i decided to go on the Speed Rom 3.1.0 , i followed the instructions as always (fyi, i flashed countless roms on my mytouch 4g) i dont know where i went wrong but now
THE PROBLEM:
the problem now i have is the phone gets stuck on the HTC logo, boot screen or if i flash the official ics tmo ruu then it gets stuck on the tmo android logo. :/, it does not go any further than that.
i can access bootloader, recovery too. but after trying to flash different roms and updates, and also i tried to install the tmo stock ruu by relocking the bootloader again and then flashing it through bootloader but it does not help.
i m dyinggg here trying to fix it, may be its just a stupid mistake from me that i dont know you guys are the doctors of this stuff so i m hopefull ( a little)
any help will be greatly appreciated. thanks alot.
EDIT: I have also tried flashing roms through recovery
and bootloader too.
also tried wiping , factory settings, formating, dalvik ,cache, battery stats etc
flashed 4ext recovery , sometimes the recovery gives the error message that it CANT ACCESS INTERNAL STORAGE, i wonder why is that.
Edit 2:
fyi: right now i am RELOCKED ,S-OFF , HBOOT 1.93.0002

Check instructions from post above your last post
Your bootloader should read something like ENG 1.90.2005 LOCKED

Its not that it can't flash it, but I've had it happen to me a couple of times, if I flashed a rom and didn't check the md5 and the kernel was messed up, it would flash, then get stuck on the HTC splash screen. Then flashing the kernel through easy kernel flasher it would load up the rom I was on.
I'm just giving another option to try, but I think if there's an issue with a kernel for whatever reason the next install there will be an issue with the kernel flash. Its happened to me a couple of times, and 4ext couldn't bail me out, but the kernel flasher did every time.
Please keep all question based threads in the Q&A section. It also helps to search the forums before posting your [Q]. Often times, your problem has been asked and answered.

I have the same prob. . I've tried everything over the last week. Stock ruu, ice leak, every possible rom, eng hboot, wiping everything, even did a format on the internal sd through windows, Linux, cwm and nothing.. 4ext can't mount internal_SD and won't let me flash from SD card as won't mount either.. cwm recovery see's the internal, it works as I put data on it, disk checked it for errors and none.. I have not tried the kernal flash tool but did try through fast boot and hansoon's toolkit, does it flash it any different?? I will try later but I Def have the same problem.. and on ice leak it goes past the HTC screen till the T-Mobile splash.
Okay so i've had my htc evo 3d for a while and i decided to root it finally.
i rooted it, everything was fine, it was s-on.
i flashed like 3 roms and everything was great, ....until i flashed a kernel.
i first used the MAC kernel, and it worked great.
but then i flashed the "No name" kernel from the same creator from the MAC kernel for the htc evo 3d and i got bootloops?
i also noticed it sent me back to Hboot 1.57 somehow? and i was on 1.58?
so, i went back into 4ext recovery and wiped everything and flashed a stock rom i had.
yet, i still have the bootloop going on...
what do i do? i really want my htc evo 3d back, i had to go back to my lg optimus V for now until someone can help me :/
Thank you for your time, and to whoever helps me with my semi-bricked device

It's not a Rom or kernel issue, try flashing my pg86img.zip in the EVO 3d gsm development thread, adding your own cid to the text file (this has only been tested on gsm) but if your already looping what's the harm in trying
But my htc is CDMA. Sorry I forgot to mention it's from virgin Mobile.

I don't think that's even relevant, but I'm gsm and can't test cdma so I can't tell you it works, but on another note, where's the harm in trying
S-on is an issue, I believe because you are s-on the kernel flash was bad, some kernels require s-off , did you try another kernel, or flashing bootimg through fastboot

Yeah I think it's an issue too. I've tried flashing the MAC kernel that worked before and nothing. Where can I find a bootimg? Is it the same as pg86img?

No, pg86img is the firmware but some Roms have the bootimg within the zip, just open your Rom with WinZip or 7zip extract bootimg and place it on your sdcard and flash it with fastboot

If you have the Virgin Mobile version of the Evo 3D the RUU.exe you want to use is the fourth one from the top on this page.
To flash the RUU.exe, if you have HTC unlocked the bootloader you will need to "fastboot oem lock" with the phone in the "fastboot USB" mode in the bootloader, then start the RUU.exe from Windows. It takes about 10 minutes to run and should leave you with a totally stock configuration, except the bootloader will say "***RELOCKED***" at the top instead of "***LOCKED***".
Before you run that it might be worth starting 4EXT recovery by using "fastboot boot recovery.img" from a PC and flashing a mostly stock rooted ROM like MeanROM ICS or CleanROM BE ICS because it sounds like you may just have a non-bootable kernel and 4EXT SmartFlash required for flashing kernels directly from recovery with S-ON won't work if the current kernel is not bootable. You could also try flashing the stock VM kernel from here after using the fastboot command to start recovery.

Thanks alot for your reply ramjet,
okay, well i tried downloading the 4th one from where you told me and file factory is giving me a "problem loading page" so i cant download it. i have my htc locked now and it says ***RELOCKED*** so all i need to do now is install the 4ext recovery through bootloader and flash the rom and kernel and run RUU,but i need your download.
Edit: So i tried flashing recovery.img through fastboot and i got "cannot load 'recovery.img'" ?
No, ramjet told you to flash 4ext recovery before you do anything, now you can't flash recovery because you have a locked bootloader.
if you still want to go the 4ext way, you will have to unlock bootloader via htcdev.com again or use the same unlock code.bin that you used previously. then fastboot flash the recovery. then get a Rom that works with your bootloader version and flash it using 4ext recovery with smartflash turned on.

Hi
Last time i flashed BiParanoid JB ROM. It wasn't a good ROM for me, because for ex. videos on YT hasn't appeared. After that I decided to change the ROM to Cool ICS. And that's the point. The phone stucks on hTC logo and then restarts and so on. I tried to flash another ROM - mwakious and the result was the same. So what is the problem and what I have to do ?
I've the 4EXT recovery.
My hTC is S-OFF
hboot 1.49.1107
radio 11.25.3504.06_M
Thx for the answers
BTW, I am a noob, so please don't ''bark''
Are you using 4ext recovery, If so, go to wipe and format everything except sdcard and re flash the rom
( Don't ask me for help as I couldn't care if your phone explodes, eh! )
Thx for the answer, I did that but It is still bootloopin' and rebootin'.
Before you flash the rom pull your battery and go into recovery through bootloader, after the rom flashes again pull your battery and start your phone, that's what I did when I used coolexe rom once. Btw video can be played on cm10 by 2 methods, 1 download mx player and select sw decoder 2nd developer options select disable hw overlays, bam videos play, although I prefer the first method
( Don't ask me for help as I couldn't care if your phone explodes, eh! )
But what do you mean by ''pulling battery'' ? I can't take out it, otherwise Evo won't turn on ( while it's charging, of course).
Pull the battery and put it back in, sorry I should have been more descriptive.
( Don't ask me for help as I couldn't care if your phone explodes, eh! )
It is still bootloopin'. What is the reason ? What i have to do ?
Try another hboot
( Don't ask me for help as I couldn't care if your phone explodes, eh! )
Thx, but how can I flash the antoher hboot ? And which hboot ? Thx for the answer
My ideas:
Redownload the ROM then reflash
Flash the boot.IMG from the ROM via fast boot
Change hboot

Find the hboot file and and rename it PG86IMG.zip and put it on your SD card and boot into the boot loader. It will register it and ask to flash it.
So, I can flash boot.img from for ex. mwakious ROM, but where is the hboot located ? I don't have fastboot on my PC, so how can I install it ( but I have it on Evo,of course).
copy PG86IMG.zip to sdcard then go to bootloader and install the zip

I changed the hboot like in the tutorial. After flashing a ROM it is still bootloopin',
Hi, I've had an Evo 3D for a while now but liked the stock features. However I then got a bit bored and decided to install a custom ROM. Here's what I have done so far:
Unlock bootloader (HTC)
Rooted
S-Off using the wire trick
I am running a GSM phone.
I then tried installing the BETA of the PACMan ROM for GSM but get stuck in the loop. It gets to the splash screen of the ROM then reboots. If I go back to my stock ROM restore it's fine. I have 4EXT installed and before installing the ROM did a full wipe except SDCARD.
Any ideas? I can't post on the Dev thread for the ROM ...

Hmm ... so I figured out why it might be boot looping, I had SmartFlash enabled in 4EXT even though I'm S-Off. Now it's not boot looping but just stuck on the slash screen for PACMan.
If I downgrade do I need to S-Off again?
---------- Post added at 04:19 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:04 PM ----------
Answered my own question ... followed the instructions in THIS THREAD and downgraded the HBOOT. Still not loading my ROM, may try reflashing it.
Another update ... it worked! I was running out of ideas and thought I would try ClockworkMod Recovery instead of 4EXT, did exactly what I did before in terms of wiping cache, etc. and hey presto it came up! So maybe worth trying if you're S-Off.
I must admit I put off doing S-Off but I wish I had done it earlier, make things so easier!
I recently unlocked my HTC EVO 3D GSM (HBOOT 1.53.0007 S-ON) (I have revolutionary cwm v4.0.1.4 recovery) the htcdev way and flashed the paranoid android 3 unofficial ROM without making a backup. This got my phone into a bootloop. I've tried to S-OFF using this method : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1743466 but I could not because of the bootloop.

If you get it to boot, s-on with htcdev, flash recovery, do a backup, s-off with wiretrick (go to unlimited.io, all the required files and a guide is there) and finally downgrade hboot -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1906172 and I recommend to flash 4ext touch recovery since I have never had any problems with it. After hboot downgrade go into recovery and wipe all partitions except sdcard. Flash the jb rom and gapps and you're done. It's as easy as that.

I have tried many ways to get out of the bootloop: by flashing LeeDroid 3D v5.3.0 ROM or the stock EU rooted ROM or the KingCobra 3D ICS 1.2 ROM (i've tried to flash the boot.img with all these ROMs but go no luck). I've tried to S-OFF using this method : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1743466 but I could not because of the bootloop.
Now I don't know what to do If anyone knows how to get out of this mess then please help me. I would really appreciate it.

not sure if you found your answer or just gave up but just restore your back up in recovery and you'll be fine. did you make a back up?
The reason you cant get out of boot loops is because you need s-off.
Do the wire trick it will work. I've done it several times successfully. Try to find the YouTube video of max doing it from evo evohacks.com
I think that will narrow your search on you tube.
Once you have s-off you must downgrade your hboot. 1.53 will cause boot loops. No matter what you do
Below ill attach a link that will help you. And I imagine you'll get the error in bootloader. The link has instructions for what to do if that happens. Use the fastboot oem 11111 command or whatever it is. It will work I assure you. Its really easy. Then you can flash away
Don't forget to hit the thank button!

Got the KingCobraICS ROM to work after several attempts.
Just need to S-OFF now. I will try the wire tick.
Thanks for the help.
Did the method I told you about work?
You cant get s off while on custom rom. You have to be stock

I'm no expert but what I found was that wiping the cache and dalvik were the first things to try. If that does not work, format everything except the SD card then reload the ROM and GAPPS.
What procedure did you use to get root & s-off?

Thanks for the information. It helps those of us who are still getting our heads wrapped around this whole thing...
For other user regarding this problem.. formatting your SD-card can help too. And make sure you use Hboot <1.5. Just see my signature: I used the same method.
