The AIO (All In One) tool by condi (see development section) has a tweak to enable this?
Have you tried that?
Goto 4. Tweaks and Mods > 8 Add WIFI AD-HOC support.....

Hello and thanks for answer. I've not tried AIO because i think it was for the previous version of android.
I confirm that it's not possible yet with AIO to have wifi ad hoc with ICS

How do we enable SIP over 3G? Sorry Guys I don't know how. I'm using SIP / Gizmo5 / GV on native Nexus S.

I just saw this too. I have a rooted HTC Inspire 4G running Android Revolution 4G 5.1.4. I've found framework-res.apk in /system/framework, but am unsure how to actually apply this change.
Do I copy the file to my computer, modify it somehow, and replace the old file with the modified one? APK is just an application archive, right? Presumably that means I would need to run it to install the changes? Will it remove any of the programs/settings I currently have on my phone?
I don't know... just try it and post here whenever it worked or not.
I made a small manual on how to accomplish this on probably all GB roms including sense and miui:

I got Internet connection at home but not with wifi and i want to share my broadband connection with my x10mini.
I mean "REVERSE TETHERING"
Please don't tell me to see other threads because i'm tired of doing that and followed many methods and apps but no success!!
Sony Ericsson Xperia X10mini
Stock Firmware 2.1
Built 2.1.1.A.0.6
I think that can't be done, at least i don't know how with the cable, a solution can be sharing your connection from a computer with WiFi, or maybe Bluetooth, but I don't know if there is any way to navigate via bluetooth with this device.
This.

You may flash nAa -11 kernel and miniCM7 2.2.0 this kernel have native usb/wi-fi tethering (I use this always with my Sony Vaio/Macbook when I`m in work). It`s no hard to do this but You must spend some time for this and this may brick your phone

Ooops Sorry I don`t understand your question XD, If you have computer without wi-fi You can`t (maybe but`s it hard to to this) sharing inthernet connection to xperia, bluetooth doesn`t work some time ago I try sharing inthernet with BT on my SV but`s not work, maybe I don`t know How to do this :/
But You may buy wi-fi card and plug-in to computer (windows 7/mac os x) have tools (not complicated to user) that sharing inthernet with wi-fi
Thanks for the reply.
but as you said you don't know that dosen't happning!!!!

Try this.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1577643
You should be able to do a windows network sharing via WiFi and the connect to the network created by that. I don't think the mini/pro supports usb tethering in nAa 11 and it doesn't in stock

This app is not working in andoid 2.1
can you assist me with your manual method?

If you mean "destroyed" as in you tried to open it and it was reported as damaged, then it probably is not "destroyed". The zip file is encrypted and tablet's system update function will open it without problem.
ANYONE KNOWS HOW TO ENABLE THE ICS AD HOC CONNECTIONS ON ICS STOCK ROM?
I FOUND A LOT OF WPA_SUPPLICANT FILES, BUT NO ONE WAS WORKING UNTIL NOW.
I also found here in the forum an apk named wifi ad-hoc enabler but seems to work only on hc3.2.
Can Someone help me?

Could you post the way it's supposed to do this? I'd like to learn how but i'm, as you can imagine, a newbie at this.
Update: i've found a temporary Workaround:
First of all notice that i needed the ad-hoc connection to use my tab in junction to my android phone when i'm on the move.
Said that I've found the way to share the phone connection via bluetooth: Obviously isn't fast as a proper wifi, but until someone (daveba ?) will patch the wpa_supplicant, this is the only solution.
On my phone i've downloaded from the play store Foxfi. There I have activated the bluetooth dun connection.
On tablet side i've downloaded from the play store pdanet tablet & configured to pair with my phone.
And ... TAADAA!!! i had back my connection on the move.
I repeat, it's not a proper solution, but until someone more coding skilled than me get the patch done, this will work.

You need to download the AOSP sources for ICS and set up a compile environment and then patch up the wpa_supplicant sources as per my previous post and then recompile and provide a CWM flashable zip.

Have you ever thought about writing an how-to guide related to this stuff?? i think could be very interesting. i think could be a sticky topic here in xda. A lot of people writing about wpa_supplicant but most of them posted only already patched files but never the entire process to do it.

Its not 'stock' ICS, but after installing Task650's ICS ROM, ad hoc works for me.

I'll try to download it and extract the wpa supplicant. Maybe this time i'll be luckyer. And obviously, if this will work i'll share here.
Cross your fingers, please.
SAD UPDATE: I tried to use the wpa_supplicant e wpa_conf files on task650's ics rom but unfortunately the tablet has working wifi but doesn't recognize my wifi tethering from the phone. So for who as me don't want to use non stock rom (mostly for stability reason at the moment) can't have wifi thetering recognized.
I'm starting to suppose that on ics things are quite different from honeycomb on this topic. Maybe Someone whit good coding skill should try to help us.
And at the moment my workaround it's the only solution avaiable.
Thank you very much Chinasky71
Unfortunately, it seems that FoxFi is not available for Nokia E series phones.
I guess I have to change my phone this time....
Anymore brilliant ideas???

You can still use your phone!
Nokia phones have dun connection via bluetooth, so pair your phone with your galaxy tab and start pdanet.
From there use the configure button, and select your phone after that is appered in your list.
At that point you'd be ready to go!
Let me know if it works.

Well, I use pipi14's v10 ROM and I was wonder why wifi tethering was not working??
A good question.
I found the solution. Use ICS .89 fix for wifi tethering and you will get wifi tethering working well..
For those who are bored about editing SQL..
I attach something to you..
unzip it and just place it in sdcard and go to Root Explorer..
1 In RE, go to /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases
2 Delete settings.db
3 Place my settings.db
4 Set correct permission
Read Write Execute
Owner X X
Group X X
Others
X is the one you have to check in Root Explorer..
That's it and you have wifi tether and usb tether working with APN.
If you guys want to do it manually, please do a reply or check out fixing .89 firmware about wifi-tether.. It's the same..
Please make a backup before doing ANYTHING!!!!!
Thank you..
Best regards..
Little Zed
