If you're referring about the dual booting go to this thread -> Siyah Kernel Discussion Thread
i suggest you wait for the stable version, as the v1.7 is still on beta

Well, i tried to find the guide inside the forum but i didn't found, googled for an hour and found this:
http://rootgalaxys3iii.com/galaxy-s3-siyahkernel-s3-kernel/
Hope this help you, helped me.
ps.: When i seached on google "how to install siyah kernel" the first result was this page, quite disapointing.
That is poor user input .
One dont read the Siyah thread two dont ask.read the Siyah Q&A thread three dont ask google .

Actually I think it's on RC1 for some time. I had this kernel for a week or so and it was very good.
I believe they have sorted most of the bugs.
If you want double boot, this is the way to go.
I have it and its pretty awesome.
Runs very good.
By the way I learned it installing by searching and reading

I found the easiest way was to use Mobile Odin. :good:
Stop answering the noob guy's gone.
Flash Siyah again. Use STweaks. Launch dual boot utilities. Format second ROM. Wipe caché and data. Wipe flash. Flash zip into second ROM. Wipe caché and data. Wipe dalvik. Fix permissions. Reboot..
Edit: Noob guy is gone..

Hi,
If I want CM7 on my phone, can I do that via the CWM app? I know I have to be rooted then. If yes, I first have to download and install CWM and then search for CM7 in the app, right?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
All the information you need is located in the CM7 Q&A thread and the CM7 wiki.
As oinkylicious you should find everything that you need.
On a sidenote, I am not a fan of using CWM app for flashing. My advice would be to do it manually.

How to flash a kernel?
There are different ways of flashing a kernel, but the one I use is through CWM, because I do not trust ODIN, simple as that
Step 1: Download Kernel Cleaning Script if your coming from a different kernel and flash it before flashing the new kernel. If it's just an upgrade of the same kernel, wipe cache and dalvik before flashing.
Step 2: Flash desired kernel.
Step 3: Wipe Cache and Dalvik once kernel is done flashing.
Step 4: Reboot System.
You should run Kernel Cleaning Script for better result before changing kernal
Now question is what is Kernel Cleaning Script
Answer - The script cleans the left over files of a kernel, to prevent issues or compatibility problems when switching between kernels, kinda like Ccleaner for windows.
It does a cache wipe / dalvik cache wipe and a few other operations, basically it does the maintenance job for you, no need to manually do those tasks before flashing a new kernel.
Installation guide:
1. Download the zip file from the link Below.
2. Place the file on your internal SD-CARD.
3. Restart to ClockWorkMod Recovery.
4. Install the zip like any other package.
5. Install the Kernel of your choice.
6. Reboot the device.
7. DONE!
Downloads - http://BillionUploads.com/z3rcrsqci9pc
There is already a thread about the same kernel script: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1363738&highlight=ultimate+kernel+cleaning+script

I just rooted my Galaxy S3 having frimware version Jellybean 4.1.1. using CF-ROOT and Odin. Now when i open CWM i get the following error
This version of CWM Manager should be used with CF-CWM v1.1 or newer,It appears you are running a different recovery.Various features have been disabled.

I want to know what it really means? I want to flash custom ROM, can I still do this?
Search for the error message and all will be revealed

Go back to the CF root thread and read it or read the ten thousand posts asking the same question .

I successfully installed the custom ROM. The error was due to the incompatibility of Jelly Bean with CWM. BTW if you cant help don't reply

Hi, I'm new here so bare with me.
I just rooted my Samsung S3-I9300 hours ago. And I was pumped up, what I did later on is I installed bootanimation and I didn't quite understand how to use it and I still don't, but in the end I got it to work but the logo was too small but this isn't the problem. I entered recovery mode and I don't know what I extracted or installed and I rebooted my device and all I hear is the Samsung booting music and that's all. My screen is black.
Your help is appreciated.

Yes, it is booting. I can see the back button and the options button lit. It's just black.
BUMP.
I would probably wipe data in recovery mode, and last case scenario flash official firmware from sammobile.com.
This will make you lose all your saves and stuff though.
Wipe cache and/or full wipe. If still nothing, reflash ROM. It happened to me long time ago, nothing to worry about.

Nothing to worry about..
Just restore a backup or reflash your ROM and reroot

And how do I do that? I'm a major noob with these things currently. Do I have to use my PC and ODIN?
do you really think you're the first person to ask that and the info is not available? use search
read the basics before asking questions.

If you didnt make a backup, yes, use ODIN to flash a stock ROM.
You can find out which rom you currently have in settings/about phone.
Download the rom from sammobile.com and flash with ODIN.

Firstly if there is already a thread on kernel flashing I'm sorry but I couldn't find it as i am new to xda forums and could you kindly leave a link to that post ? If not, I have recently a few months back rooted my gs3 i9300 with cm10.2 (just recently flashed ) and since I'm a heavy user for games on my phone I tend to drain my battery a lot and I noticed that my phone kept getting hot (40+ degrees) and was thinking of flashing a kernel. Any thoughts and precautions on flashing a kernel and how do I flash one ?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Stick with stock on cm10.2 mate. best bet.
I9100/I9300
Kernel is just a boot.img and when you flash one, it replaces the previous one. Roms all include a kernel so if you flash a kernel you don't like, reflash the rom to get its kernel back.
More info in "understanding the basics before rooting" which can be found by following the link in my signature to general > sticky roll-up
