I'd like to know from other people who use WiFi to connect to the internet if they share the same experience...
I used to run stock .431 ICS with MESA 1.6 kernel, and even if I used WiFi regularly it would still take me trough the day easily.
After upgrading to .587 with MESA 1.8 the battery drains a LOT faster with WiFi connected.
The reason I haven't gone back to .431 yet is that .587 is noticeably faster, but the difference in battery drain is just too big.
Any thoughts/ideas? Not too keen on mixing different builds for the sake of stability, and don't want to use a GB ROM as I like the Holo interface way too much.
well for kobzars and mine new rom based on .587
im using phone for 25h10min with heavy usage
wi-fi for 6h
+ gaming
I'll be testing this combo and see how it goes...

Have you tried changing governors?
Edit: so im little bit excited yet... Stock ginger roms are slow and have lags, custom roms are fast but they have some bugs - is here some normal choice? Maebe im going to flash back stock old froyo only with root and it will be all...
Adeclipse: On stock rom can I only use for example setcpu but dont any change... All the same... Even cpu spy showing all without change... I think that there is some problem with undervoltage...

I use google map version 6.0.2, but after using and return to idle mode, the device drain battery quickly, about 5% for 1 hour.
If restarted, all back to normal, about 1% for 2 hours.
I'm not using Google Latitude. And "Use wireless networks" always checked
Plz help me.
That is cuz mapps stay in you RAM.
Kill it in manage application in settings.

That's how Android works... apps stay in RAM - killing apps is NOT the answer unless they are misbehaving, which Maps doesn't. There is a reason for unusual battery drain, and that ain't it. Needs more methodical investigation.

of course, i use xperia neo.
Not a stock ROM, so you're on your own. The Stock SE .42 ROM and Maps are fine.
which ROM do you use?
I use stock room .42 + themes GS2.
//stock room .42 use google map 5.6. No "download arena map" feature.
6.0.3 is the latest Maps version by the way
How often does that happen? Had that a couple of times, because maps couldn't find my location by GPS.
Friends, Like other users I am was also not happy with Xperia battery and ICS Stock Rom performance. I installed many custom ROMs many of them were very good in the beginning and then I got facing problems. I really appreciate the work done by Devs for My Xperia sola. But one day I decided to move to stock rom so I relocked my boot loader and installed ICS stock rom Indian version. After installing it i got an update that I think was for facebook integration in Xperia sola or something like that. In the beginning Performance was not good but day by day its performance is going good unlike other custom roms. Battery performance is also very good under normal use. I am not a heavy user.
So In the end "Have I become used to it or Really performance has increased "
A friend Once told me "Manufacturer knows best".
(Sorry for bad English. )

Well....this is kind of a "better ROM thread".
Wanna know why?
Because to me GB had the best battery life ever, and then again I got this while on JB:

Thanx for all the replies guys ill try some of these u mentioned and see which works for me
Using Omega 4.2.2 Rom, and I can recommend it to anyone cause its really smooth & has everything.
I have battery drain problem. All i did now is: full wipe/full format (system, cache, preload etc.)/back to newest 1-file 4.1.2 stock XEO ROM.
Nothing changed, all i can see is that my CPU is 100% usage, what is the problem?

Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
Tried all stock ROMs (excepting Android 2.3) and nothing changed, my phone gets overheated. May it be hardware problem? If yes how to repair it? My phone turns off my hands several times and maybe that's the cause.
first try custom rom stock or cm with custom kernel like dorimanx. if this dnt help try with different battery if this snt help could be motherboard problem. but first try flash dorimanx kernel on ur rom and check how phone behave
