ICS v4.0.4 w/ 180+ MB of RAM

YES! this is True 180+ MB Ram, @ the Moment what I have working is the ICS Itself, and thanks to wedgess's Lupus kernel i was able to get the Gamepad Working "Tested on certain Games such as FPSE, Asphalt 7 and Dead Trigger"
@ the Moment im working on Activating the Touchpad based on markpythons Dev. Tutorial. and as soon as im able to make everything Work, I'll convert this Post into a Guide on how to obtain such ICS once im able to get the Touchpad Working.
I'm at the same point as you with .479, i've deleted bloatware and RAM eating programs with 180-200MB of free RAM result. It would be great if you share solution if you find it cause i've spend 2 days of work on it with no results. His ICS touchpad tuto isn't actualized cause in his ROM mark has some play beta files instead of 2.3.4 files.
PS : games are so smooth with 180Mb free !
The official ics have self 160 - 180 MB free ram at all the time!

Would like to know if games become playable when you have touchpads working. Is 180 mg of ram enough to keep games from backing out or lagging when they even work? Please post results.

Isn't this the wrong section?

First, begin to delete RAM-killer apps like facebook (20Mb), Google+ (30Mb), Maps (20Mb), Xplay game laucher isn't necessary and it burns 20Mb on cache only to show and launch games.
After, that's your choice, some apps will be important for you but delete bloatware and Timescape etc, and you'll see, your system will be very responsive.
PS : If you delete game launcher, also delete storefront, it'll be useless and add a 10Mb gain.

Why do you want more free memory..free memory=wasted memory on android..It should not be a worry.
You could start by installing one those many roms that have 833 or 839mb ram, that'll do a bit.
And use TB to freeze all hose bloatware apps
I'm on #SuperNexus 4, and have 380+ free all the time.
Besides the fact that a filled ram is a benefit for the android system and the start of apps, you can even speed up your device by using two things.
1. Install the "Android Revolution HD"-Rom (XEO-JB-Release recommended to flash first and then use the v.11.0 of Android Revolution HD.
2. Flash "Perseus"-Kernel. (Works flawlessly and super-fast with the Rom above.
I am using this for a while now and I am experiencing an excellent battery-life and a super smooth UI and in-game rendering
Maybe you might consider this for you

Chrome breaks music app n ram usage on LLA

Well guys this is weird. While using chrome, music app stops working and closes automatically. It doesn't happen with any other browser. I'm on indisn firmware 4.1 1 right now, non rooted. Anyone has any suggestions or facing same issue?
One more question, is the high ram usage fixed in uk version lla or it's the same??
Sent from my GT-I9300 using. xda app-developers app
Its the ram usage...the phone automatically closes other apps for freeing ram so that apps that uses huge resources like chrome can work..since music player works in the background.the low memory killer feature force closes the apps...i have personally experienced this problem when using facebook flipboard etc..
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Any possible solution bro?
One question though, what's the point of having a powerful phobe such as s3 if it can't even run 2-3 apps at a time?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Try clearing recently used programs list...since recently used programs will be cached for quickly launching next time the user needs it.it will take up a lot of ram...also try using advanced system care from play store...this app proved useful to me and many others..if it still doesn't work..try to uninstall least used apps..since some services will run in the background and eats up ram..and still not working means..keep the post alive and we can expect someone will come up with a solution
Hope this helps..

Yup waiting for some more replies. The above i already tried, no effect.
I guess i have to root n install another rom.

Bump!
Well i've successfully rooted mu device and i hope there can be more ways now to make it lagfree. So can anyone please suggest any ways now? I don't wanna install any custom kernel or recovery. Just wanna tweak the stock ROM for good performance and multi-tasking.

Game Not Working

I played "Real Racing 3" game in Stock Gingerbread. Then I flashed A Custom ICS ROM "NextGen V7".Then Reinstalled The game. The Sd data already in sdcard. The game stop while loading.
Is this any layout problem?.
Please help me.
Sent from my ST15i using xda app-developers app
U should get titanium backup from some one who is currently playing this game.
Because the kind of structure has been given to real racing 3 is somewhat like - you have to download data (not verify but download) every time you install it freshly.
Find some one's titanium backup and restore data only.
Note : game's version must be as same as you have from whom you are taking titanium backup...

[Q] Galaxy S2 are using 82% of the RAM

My Galaxy S2 are often using more than 80% of the RAM. That makes the phone runs very slow. When I clean it up, it will get back to the high level after a few minutes. Anyone knows why would that happen? What should I do?
Free RAM is wasted RAM. If the total resident size of the apps you have installed is slowing your device, your only option is to uninstall some of those that insist on running all the time.

As long as the phones is running well and no overheating, then should be fine.

This. Any further discussion beyond this is absolutely pointless.
You can to search app ,which take free ram in: settings/apps/runned ,and uninstall it ,if possible.
Does it pose problems on usage of other apps?
If yes, you can try greenifying the culprit apps which are always in cache or are running.

are you on jelly bean rom?
If you have rom for a long time you should to reinstall it. If its a stock rom you won't to have problems with this - just download the newest official rom and flash it by Odin.
