Why do you want more free memory..free memory=wasted memory on android..It should not be a worry.

You could start by installing one those many roms that have 833 or 839mb ram, that'll do a bit.
And use TB to freeze all hose bloatware apps
I'm on #SuperNexus 4, and have 380+ free all the time.

Besides the fact that a filled ram is a benefit for the android system and the start of apps, you can even speed up your device by using two things.
1. Install the "Android Revolution HD"-Rom (XEO-JB-Release recommended to flash first and then use the v.11.0 of Android Revolution HD.
2. Flash "Perseus"-Kernel. (Works flawlessly and super-fast with the Rom above.
I am using this for a while now and I am experiencing an excellent battery-life and a super smooth UI and in-game rendering
Maybe you might consider this for you

[Q] How can i get SwapIt Ram Expander working on my GP 5.0

I just got my GP a few weeks ago I just rooted to install the whatsapp. But now that i want to expand my ram i just cant do it.. It says that the swap function has been disabled.
PS. I also installed the BusyBox Pro
PS2. Its the american version YP-G70
Hmm, idk. I have never even heard of this app until now, and it seems like an interesting idea. The compatibility checker app says my 4.0 is compatible, but I don't want to dish out 8 bucks on something that might not work.

Im user of SWAPiT Ram Expander...Its awesome app in benchmark you doesn´t see results but in big games (like amazing spider-man) you can see its much more smoother x) I think swapIT doesn´t support any ICS rom, but on GB rom it should run without problem

thx man I made some research and I just need to installa a new kernel that supports swapit
I have chip rom and swapit expander work no problem..this app just saves this device..only problem with this device for me was little ram memory and with this app no lag on any game and no single launcher redrowing since I use this app.

But where can I get a kernel that supports the swapit for the usa version? Because the ones that allow the use of swapit disable my device capacitive buttons because they are only for the international version of the device
is it really worth it? I read that swap memory will reduce the read-write cycle of your sd card. I don't think that it's a good tradeoff in the long run...

Sd card has at least 100 000 writes per sector so even with heavy use of swap it that would be at least 10-15 years (this program swaps process that are not used often and that just use memory for almost nothing) ..your battery would die much much before. And even if it dies you can buy mikro sd card class 10 cheap and make external to be internal.

How can we get this working on the 5.0? I tried the original version of swapper, and I have to say I've never had this little problem with how many programs are running. Usually I close running programs as I stop using them, now I can have facebook, opera, and other memory intensive programs open with almost no slow down in android at all.
the kernel needs to be able to support swap. i don't believe Entropy's kernel does
Do this app works for stock rom/kernel/no root?

I have omega rom on my GS3 with all my bloatware removed and also with phenomenal 4.0 medium kernel and i have a lot of ram usage. Every time i play a game my phone crash. That happens with siyah, stock and phenomenal kernel. My phone is using 536 mb of 839mb. When i was using Wanamlite a couple of weeks ago my ram usage was 380mb to 430mb. Any advice???

Chrome breaks music app n ram usage on LLA

Well guys this is weird. While using chrome, music app stops working and closes automatically. It doesn't happen with any other browser. I'm on indisn firmware 4.1 1 right now, non rooted. Anyone has any suggestions or facing same issue?
One more question, is the high ram usage fixed in uk version lla or it's the same??
Sent from my GT-I9300 using. xda app-developers app
Its the ram usage...the phone automatically closes other apps for freeing ram so that apps that uses huge resources like chrome can work..since music player works in the background.the low memory killer feature force closes the apps...i have personally experienced this problem when using facebook flipboard etc..

Any possible solution bro?
One question though, what's the point of having a powerful phobe such as s3 if it can't even run 2-3 apps at a time?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Try clearing recently used programs list...since recently used programs will be cached for quickly launching next time the user needs it.it will take up a lot of ram...also try using advanced system care from play store...this app proved useful to me and many others..if it still doesn't work..try to uninstall least used apps..since some services will run in the background and eats up ram..and still not working means..keep the post alive and we can expect someone will come up with a solution
Hope this helps..

Yup waiting for some more replies. The above i already tried, no effect.

Bump!
Well i've successfully rooted mu device and i hope there can be more ways now to make it lagfree. So can anyone please suggest any ways now? I don't wanna install any custom kernel or recovery. Just wanna tweak the stock ROM for good performance and multi-tasking.

The Most Performance Enchanting Root App

Since the new root method came out thanks to Condi and Smokey_Joe I have found an application which can really speed up the Sony Tablet S alot, the application is Performance Booster (root) at this link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gejos.android.performancebooster
I have got amazing results like the launcher is less laggy and much faster, faster tasks and much more.
Everyone should be able to root (except for the people who got soft bricked of course unless they have a backdoor) but this is worth it.
EDIT: After more testing it feels like that it is not on the stock rom at all, it feels like a really stable fast tablet.
Tried this and performance improves by a lot. Also removed the bloatware apps by sony and it helps

Have installed this but cannot see how to give it Superuser access. The Superuser app does not seem to recognise it. Any clues?
Thanks

It happened to me, I had to keep on getting off and on the application enabling the booster since the device was slow so you have to wait for over 10 seconds for the prompt to popup.
TIP: Make sure you only select "Enable Booster" first, come off the application and once it requests SU and works come back to the app and change it to your likings.

Can you guys please elaborate on where you find the differences? In which situations? I installed this on my rooted xperia tablet s, but tbh I really don't experience any speed enhancements.
Thank you for this App !

It is suppose to make the applications feel smoother on the most laggy applications.

I see no improvement. There is one easy way to lag my STS. Simply type very fast on google search with auto complete on, keyboard lag will occur with missing characters when you type fast enough. This do not happen no matter how fast I type on my note 2. So.... this app dont improve the STS performance on this respect

It improves the performance within applications, I did not say that it will remove/eliminate lag.
After using this there will be a performance boost in application handling BUT lag will still remain on most if not some application sectors.

[Q] Galaxy S2 are using 82% of the RAM

My Galaxy S2 are often using more than 80% of the RAM. That makes the phone runs very slow. When I clean it up, it will get back to the high level after a few minutes. Anyone knows why would that happen? What should I do?
Free RAM is wasted RAM. If the total resident size of the apps you have installed is slowing your device, your only option is to uninstall some of those that insist on running all the time.

As long as the phones is running well and no overheating, then should be fine.

This. Any further discussion beyond this is absolutely pointless.
You can to search app ,which take free ram in: settings/apps/runned ,and uninstall it ,if possible.
Does it pose problems on usage of other apps?
If yes, you can try greenifying the culprit apps which are always in cache or are running.

are you on jelly bean rom?
If you have rom for a long time you should to reinstall it. If its a stock rom you won't to have problems with this - just download the newest official rom and flash it by Odin.
