I think on every ICS ROM I have tried for the Galaxy Tab 10.1 there is a bug that sometimes occurs when you wake up the tablet and get the lock screen. You cannot unlock the tablet because the touch screen is not working. Sometimes if the tab goes back to sleep and you wake it up again, touch works. Other times, the tab will never go back to sleep and eventually ends up in a boot loop. This bug has been mentioned in a few topics as well.
What I'm wondering is, what causes this and is anyone working on a fix? I see lots of people who keep asking "does the camera work yet?!" but this particular bug is more annoying than a camera that does not work. I've been staying on top of the ICS development topics and I only see people reporting the problem, but no mention of a solution or that something is in the works.
So, does anyone know anything about this? It seems to affect all ICS ROMs (at least all CM9 based ROMs). I do not believe it is one kernel vs another as I have tried different kernels too. Any feedback is much appreciated.
yes happens to my 10.1 all the time as well. Not sure the root of the cause. Should probably pull up the logcat and see what the deal is.. Probably some sleep mode issue not letting it recover the touch driver or something.
+ 1 same issue

Oh wow! Did you make this yourself? Downloading and flashing now! Great work, dev!

Thank you for moving this to a place where topics go to die. This sort of question needs the attention of devs, not to be ignored in a forum hardly anyone looks in. Your system is broken.

Welcome to XDA, new guy. XDA began as a dev-only forum; the general and Q+A subforums came later, and only to keep the important stuff uncluttered. You need to understand that if you're going to use these forums, you go by the rules; if you don't like it start your own forum. The rest of us like it that the dev forum enjoys special status.
BTW- if you want a dev to read your bug reports (and they'd be happy to do so), post in the ROM thread or IM them directly. The devs are friendly folk who do this for free; respect them and their forum and they'll respect you.
I just came here to mention the bug. It isnt the first time I experienced it, but it got to the point today where the tab wouldnt unlock at all after attempting for a good 3-5 mins of constant hitting the power button and trying to move the icon; and then trying the power button to power off the tab and the button on the screen wasnt working either for me.
flash latest cm9 nightly.
then flash this:

observe if its better.
You want to talk about bugs in your lock screen heres a real bug problem that not even ics can fix http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1641464
I followed instructions carefully from epinter's thread and flashed the ics leak 3 times, however I still receive a pretty violent shaking of my screen that doesn't quit. Any ideas of what might be causing this?
I would post this in the development section under Bugs but I do not have enough posts.
I get the same screen and reboot issues. I'm pretty sure it is due to the leak being an unfinished dev build. In other words... Moto didn't officially release it because it wasn't ready for general use.

Some testers report that the rom works well for us so there is still hope, let's give time to devs for their work.
If Motorola had a really working ICS without releasing it, it would really be a shame...

when connected the USB cable, it shaked untile reboot.
I also follow the instructions, and still having the same issue as you, even though it's my 3rd try. Guess we'll have to wait till the devs get to a solution. Just be patient, this doesn't even have 24 hs out.

Which version did you install (mine, epinter, or lokifish)?
What was you install procedure?
I have installed the ZIP made by epinter and my only problem was the camera, some random reboots and I was unable to use the cellphone after going into webtop (have to remove the battery).
Try to wipe data, wipe cache, wipe dalvik and then reinstall the epinter zip.
My worked like a charm.
Also check your tegraparts. There's a hunch in the FIXIT thread that ones with their parts starting in d00 are having problems.
Same bugs here. My tegrapart is 1100:100:800. AT&T atrix.

Did you find any solution yet???
I have exactly the same problem.
Hey guys i installed Hyperdrive a while back and have been up to date with all the updates. Well this last one I am experiencing some difficulties. First my phone sometimes will not unlock and it appears to freeze. Like I have to pull the battery and start over. This is happening everyday now it seems since i just updated. Second is it will just randomly reboot and start over but it is always a real fast like reboot. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!
There have been a few people complaining about this in the dev thread. I don't have enough posts to post in it, but I am having the same issue as well. I did a full wipe between 12 and 11, so I'm not sure whats going on. Some people say it is operator error, and some people blame the ROM.

should provide some more information what your phone is and what you have done
Posts like this belong in the specific ROM thread. If members do not have the proper number of posts, then creating a new thread is not the answer. Use of search, reading the entire thread (yes, no matter how lengthy it is) and then use of pm is ok.
Members should be reading before flashing anything.
That being said...almost all random reboot issues are kernel related, so I suggest you review your settings.

MMS messages not working
Hey guys/gals, When I send a mms message, it never sends. When I receive a mms, it never downloads. Gives me a download button, but still doesn't download. I saw earlier in the thread someone had posted about a similar issue, and was told to check the APN settings. I have verified my APN settings are correct, but still no dice. My carrier is Viaero (sucks). I read on another thread someone suggested 8sms as an alternative, but it didn't solve it. On a stock GB rom mms works just fine. When I upgraded to 4.1.2 Padawan it stopped working. Any ideas?

so I hate these threads created by the Q&A Bot, but I see you are new member and are not able to post in the development threads yet. please don't let it keep you from researching the area though. honestly, even if you did run a search in the thread, you would not find this problem there as I believe this is an isolated incident. I don't ever recall anybody else having this issue on Padawan.
so that makes me ask you a couple of questions in an attempt to solve.
all links have been dead due to the age of the device. where did you download from? and is there a possibility of a bad download in consideration of the source?
the maybe more important question......did you clean flash?
I know you are new here, but that doesn't necessarily mean you are without experience. what is your experience level?

I appreciate you replying so quickly, thanks. Like I said, I saw one other person in the main thread with the same issue, but maybe he really was having APN issues.
I downloaded from the devhost site. The link in the OP still works. It /could/ be a bad download for whatever reason. I would think if it were that other things might go wrong, but I haven't received any process failures or FC/reboots/whatever. It's a very stable rom, which is why I'm asking about this one thing because I like the rom a lot compared to a couple others I'd tried that were still too buggy.
As far as I can tell I did a clean flash. I have TWRP 2.7 running on it, and wiped it a few times in a row to hopefully ensure a full wipe/clean flash. When Aroma started and it asked if I wanted a full wipe, that was what I selected. At one point I reformatted the sdcard thinking maybe I should wipe absolutely everything and start from scratch. Been at this for about a week, in between going to work of course.
My experience level is subjective, I guess. I research/lurk a lot in the forums here, read through as much as I can. I have an old Cappy I put CM10 on successfully, a Huawei Fusion with CM7.2, and now this Note. So, not a developer, but not a complete newb either. I use those two as backups when things don't go quite as planned..
Well, I don't see that your APN would affect your text but not calls.
May want to try and DL again. Most anyone has posted that link does not work anymore. I could link my Dropbox again.
As far as a clean flash or my flash process.....
I always factory wipe 3 times
Flash ROM
Flash ROM again with gapps (I flash ROM 2 times as you can get 2 different reactions from 2 flashes)
Wipe Davlik and Cache
Boot
Settle for 10 min
Boot again.
Maybe overkill, but it doesn't get any cleaner than that and I rarely ever had issue.

Sorry for the delayed response - work has been nuts. The link at devhost was working for me until about a week or so ago, then it wouldn't let me download anything. I thought it was just me since it had worked previously. If you could post it to your Dropbox that would be great. You could put the link here or pm, whichever you'd prefer. I'll let you know when I get the file so you don't have to leave it up forever if you don't want.
I'll try your method and see if it helps with any possible issues after I get the new file. Probably won't be able to get it all good until early next week since I'm on call until Monday. Either way, I'll keep you posted.
Something else I noticed as a little weird and wondered if it's just me: I don't get any audio in Tango messenger on a video call. Is this a known issue or isolated incident?
Thanks again, I appreciate your help.
sorry, its been some time since linking Dropbox. let me know it worked.

The link worked. Thank you very much! I was able to download it to my phone and currently downloading it to my computer as well. If I get a chance later today I'll work on installing it.
The version I had was JB4, but the file you uploaded is JB2. Is it a different version?
It is huh? Oops.
Its the same, the 4 is newer. I though I had run the newest last.
At work for 12, have to check laptop for #4.

Well this seems promising but I think a more important question would be when will Huawei start supporting unlocking the bootloader without the hassles of sending emails for the US version?
Thank you, and I wish you well with the beta program, but count me out. THANKS to those that will take the beta challenge, but I will wait for the final release.
Even after release, I'll wait a week or two, to see how it goes. If it appears stable, then I might have a go.
Why the hesitation? Because Huawei did such a great job of tweaking 4.3 to the specs of the mate2, that I have experienced ZERO issues! I can run for weeks without any lock ups, and only reboot it because I feel guilty that I haven't had to do anything to it. I see so many of my friends having this trouble or that trouble with their flagships, with the "latest & greatest" specs, that I just have to snicker that I spent 1/2 of what they did, and I get as much or more bang for the buck than they did.
4.3, on this device is so stable it begs the question for me and my use pattern. If it ain't broke, why fix it? Yes, at some point, there will be an app that I want to use, that will require LL, but, the 83 apps that I have on my device now, run perfectly. I even went so far, to install a few of the same apps on my device, as a coworker did on his Nexus 6, setting the screen brightness to the same levels, then, running the apps side by side. MAYBE there was a split second of difference in opening or running the apps, but, both were smooth, clear and easy to read. Yes, if you ran a benchmark, the N6 would blow the Mate2 out of the water, but, I'm talking about "real world" applications. Is that split second difference worth paying more than 2 times the price? Not for me.
Huawai, you hit one out of the park, and the LL update will be welcome, but, for now, I'm sticking with JB4.3, until the LL update proves to be as stable as JB4.3
You've been posting the same exact crap in all possible threads regarding the lollipop update for the HAM2. While everyone else has been pressuring Huawei to release this update, as is deserved and expected from such a major company, you just go on and on about how happy you are with the current build, and don't care about any future support. truly unbelievable , we are all excited discussing a future update here, you should really go and post in the Happy owners HAM2 Jellybean thread !!

Correct, there are quite a few bugs I'm experiencing. Wi-fi not connecting except after 3-4 tries, a few random app crashes and a few but annoying random reboots. Even if it wasn't for these problems, who wouldn't want the latest and greatest Android version on their phones? It's common sense !

I put this list of bugs in an earlier thread (I apologize for repeating):
- Audio cutting out is a pretty common one. This occurred when I first got the phone, then again after a factory reset. Eventually it just stopped happening both times.
- Google Calendar reminder pops up, calendar crashes over and over again until I dismiss the reminder.
- Reboots randomly about once a week.
- Switching from portrait to landscape is slow and inconsistent at best.
- That looping reboot that occurred during a random Amazon update a few months back (that did not affect any other phone). I had to do a factory reset because of that which is a major pain.
- The bugs with Emo (strange text wrapping, delay when closing an app that's in a folder, improperly sized widgets), which is such a hot mess of an Android skin, makes it practically mandatory that you put a new launcher on it.
-Pulling down the notification bar has become an adventure. Sometimes it's fine, other times it comes down and stops halfway and I have to hit the home button an try again.
- Unless it's super bright out, really long shutter lag after the update.
I know the thread was started by a Huawei rep, so hopefully they're working on fixing these bugs along with the update.
Just curious, has anyone having bug issues installed TWRP recovery? I have my HAM2 for 3 months, I am rooted but stock recovery, and I haven't had a single issue with this phone. No lagging, no reboots, no wifi or bluetooth issues. I am wondering if there is something else causing the bugs. Or maybe there are a few bad devices. That being said, I always welcome updates, but I also understand peoples concerns with a new update.

Having the issues I have mentioned above, I am completely stock, never rooted or installed recovery. So phone is untouched. I didn't want to mess with it because I thought it may cause issues receiving future OTA updates

Yeah, the Amazon app problem was really a pain. I ended up uninstalling the app entirely, being fed up with the reboots it was causing. The only thing I have never tried with the phone is a factory reset, wonder if that may help in any way
