What's your best recommendation headset for a heavy music listener?
I spoil my original Sony Xperia U headset, therefore I need to get one. Unfortunately, this Xperia Play headset is not compatible with Xperia U.

I use the Klipsch S4A headset - fantastic sound quality and full remote function with the headset part.

Awh, looking for cheap one and hope it will have a good sound quality.
Anyone know do Xperia U support iFrogz Plugz with Mic?

I recommend SoundMagic E10, got an award from whathifi.com..

Have you consider buying smart headset
You won't be dissapointed the sound is really amazing!
I had both smart headset & urbeats (dr dre) and i think smart headset quality is still better than ur beats
And its not very expensive either i got it around 49$

i ordered item nuber 170876113045 from ebay (go to ebay and copy/paste item number, can't post links yet, sorry :silly: )

I bought Sony Smart Headset MH-1C off Amazon for £10, i was expecting them to be rubbish but i am over the moon with them, i think i even prefer them over my trusty Klipsch Image S3

You're using Plugz or Legion?
Sent from my ST25i using xda app-developers app

I'm having the same issue, and my choices have been narrowed down to Klipsch Image S4A and NuForce NE-700M/700X (M contains mid-cable controls/mic which may or may not work with this device, X is slightly enhanced with no controls at all).

I'm using a PC gaming headset from thermaltake. it's TTesports ISURUS, search for it. I use it on my xperia S. it's like a beats earphone when it comes to bass. Also great for calling on skype or viber etc... it's also so cheap. maybe because it was made for pc and not for phones like sennheiser, klipsch etc... at first i thought it wouldn't work, but it did. i highly recommend Thermaltake esports ISURUS

But the voltage sony set for that jack is not as high as iphone does.
So the mic and volume control didn't get the power to make it ON

I have sennheiser cx300 and IE80 . CX300 are more that enough for everyday use but IE80 are another planet . Such a joy listening trough them . From clarity , soft basses ,response. There is not need for any audio mods on Xperia S with them :good: . Iphone's output level is too much for me . 5min of listening to music on iphone with ie80 is guaranteed hear loss.

Great speaker sound

im sorry if its been mentioned before but I'm pretty sure we all agree our speaker sucks for playing music, ringtones whatever. But I just downloaded the app Crackle and was watching Bad Boys and wow the sound is amazing! I had it turned up all the way and it was way to loud I had to turn it down. Stupid question tho does that app or ones close to it have idk extra sound booter or something in it?

Crackle is just an app for downloading vids, it may have some sort of built in eq but it aint gonna fix the system wide sound issue. Its a crappy speaker with too much treble nd not enough volume.

Yes it is a crappy speaker but it can't be all the bad if watching movies with that app the speaker its great. So we are not getting the full sound with the ringtones and everything I mentioned before. And sry if I dont understand what you mean that Crackle is just a app for downloading vids, ya but what does that have to do with anything

Looks good. Worth $1.60 to see if it helps, and getting better stereo sound, etc. is a bonus.
Edit:
OK, just played around with it a bit. Since I am in the office, I can't tell about the speaker, but the headphones are amazing with the virtual room effect turned on.
I'm thinking this might be the best $1.60 I've spent in quite a while!
I cant find it in the market. Is it just called Volume plus or actually the + sign? I get a volume control plus but its free
Wouldnt DSP Manager make it louder also?

Best possible audio!!!!!!

Any audiophiles in here know how to squeeze the best sounding audio outta this phone? I am a sucker for sound quality and I would like to know the best setup, app, settings, Audi files (that actually play on this phone)(flac doesn't seem to work), ect......I honestly don't think the beats audio zip for ALL apps even does anything cause I can't tell a difference (hell, that may even be why i was having in-car call quality issues). Thanks in advance guys!!

Subtle changes and it works great. But equalizer settings can vary based on the type of music and even the way it was mixed. Tone knobs off.

Are you guys buying a blutooth head set for this phone

I imagen not many of you will be holding this to your ear.
I like the Sony SBH52 head set but its not out yet.
Sony SBH50 bluetooth looks good too

Just too troublesome to plug in the earpiece or too irritating to have it on my ear all the time.
bought norevo rockaway in anticipation of the ultra.
now using it with my note 2 when on the move.
usually if i'm in the office...i'll just use the phone as it is.

I am going for the SBH52 immediately when released. Right now, I am using the SBH20.
Not even considering a headset.
Just going to use it up to my face and be proud of my geek tech!
After using my Samsung Gtab 7.7 as a phone for 6 months this is nothing. Couldn't give a damn what other people think about how I use my tech.
Wear it loud wear it proud!
I want this. I'm used to having big phones but I feel like the SBH52 is a necessity with the z ultra. Any one know how much the expected price should be?

May I ask why? Why do you care what people think?
The biggest issue for its size is purely pocketability - but as many reviewers and users have shown this is not an issue.
Don't fall to they hype and marketing- you don't need a headset. Put it up to your face and away you go. Besides the size will help block peoples faces so you won't even see them, should you care
You have a super computer in your pocket, not some teeny weeny iPhone. Social conventions of 1 handed use and how it looks on your face absolutely make no sense to me.
My 2c
The reason I want the SBH52 is mostly for music, I prefer to have the device safely in the pocket but still being able to control playback and see track info etc from the headset.
The phone feature of the SBH52 is a nice addition.
Otherwise, I would go for the MW1.
Regarding price: I expect the SBH52 to be around $80. Cheaper than the MW1 (which I regard as a higher end product with its internal card slot) but slightly more expensive than the SBH50.
In fact, it is possible that Sony ditches the SBH50 and simply replaces it with the 52 since they are very closely related.
If there would be a MW2 with apt-x and microSD slot, I would wait for it instead but no such info exist (if we are lucky, something will be said during the IFA fair in Berlin when they will release the i1 Honami).

That looks even more ridiculous than just holding the phone up to our ears

Klick Quick Button / 360 Quick Button

Edit: Get the Klick Quick Button / 360 Quick Button since the Xiaomi only works with Xiaomi phones at the moment (thanks for reminder makavelisk)
Function:
You can plug it into your android phone headset jack and turn it into a clickable button to take quick pictures, turn on the flashlight, record phone calls and so on via programmed short and long clicks, all without unlocking your phone.
Pretty much the same thing as the Pressy at 1/10 the cost depending on how many you buy (and who you buy from).
-------------
Anyone have one of these?
You can find these on aliexpress for approximately $5, It's also known as a klick quick button I believe.
Sounds like a bargain compared to the $27 Pressy equivalent,

Sounds like a winning combination
How about you tell Pressy, stop sending jobs to China just to increase your profit margins. If the American company developed Pressy in America, maybe this would have never been cloned so fast. By the way, I purchased 5 mikey for $17 and received them two weeks ago. Pressy wants $27 per unit and still hasn't delivered the goods to their backers... China/Xiaomi are the good guys lol. You can program certain functions to correspond to clicks, i.e., 2 clicks to launch the camera, 3 to turn on bluetooth, one long click to launch the voice recorder etc...
This is interesting but $10 for Klick is still pricey really. Anybody received their unit and do a mini review?

That is how it is, Sony phones are tend to be little gentle on the volume, especially if you compare it to the M8.
I think all water proof phones have low volumes due the seal.

What things did you try to boost volume so far?
I've been playing with the settings and found a way to almost double the volume on the ringer, music is (for me) almost unbearably loud...

Start a song on the walkman and crank up the volume to max, then go to settings and tap sound:

}
Tap 'Sound Effects'
Stick to the above settings for the best result and tap 'Sound Enhancements'
Choose a EQ setting which you like.
Now tap the Settings tab, On this setting the volume is maxed up, but you can play around with it and check whatever you like best.
For me, this way the music is even louder then I can bare at max volume...

Does the xLoud setting also have an effect on the volume of Notifications, Ringtones, Alarms, etc? Or only music playback through the Walkman app?

It has effect on all of the sound out of your Z2, the whole 'Sound Enhancements' does.
go to the equalizer and put everything at +10

Excellent!
I'll be sure to test it out when I get home from work. Hopefully this will sort out the fairly quiet alarm sounds since I use my phone as an alarm clock.
So by editing the equalizer, that effects the notifications sounds? E.g put all tabs up to +5? As they are my only issue at the moment, just not loud enough!
I use this as my notification tone, although low I can hear it even in other room. Try it out, gorgeous affect it creates! Shows full quality and depth of the speakers.

Sony should tweak the equaliser setting for the speaker. It sounds like it is trying to push out too much bass and the mids and highs get muffled as a result.
I have an xperia play and it's sound output is not as warm as the Z2 but it's louder (too loud) and cleaner because it is pushing out no bass. The xperia play has really clean mids and really freaking high highs.
Try viper4android,you can boost up to +6db
