Great speaker sound - HTC EVO 3D

im sorry if its been mentioned before but I'm pretty sure we all agree our speaker sucks for playing music, ringtones whatever. But I just downloaded the app Crackle and was watching Bad Boys and wow the sound is amazing! I had it turned up all the way and it was way to loud I had to turn it down. Stupid question tho does that app or ones close to it have idk extra sound booter or something in it?

Crackle is just an app for downloading vids, it may have some sort of built in eq but it aint gonna fix the system wide sound issue. Its a crappy speaker with too much treble nd not enough volume.

Yes it is a crappy speaker but it can't be all the bad if watching movies with that app the speaker its great. So we are not getting the full sound with the ringtones and everything I mentioned before. And sry if I dont understand what you mean that Crackle is just a app for downloading vids, ya but what does that have to do with anything

I think the speaker sounds good and almost like stereo sound..I needs to be a little louder though..I noticed on some side loaded games the speaker is actually very loud

Looks good. Worth $1.60 to see if it helps, and getting better stereo sound, etc. is a bonus.
Edit:
OK, just played around with it a bit. Since I am in the office, I can't tell about the speaker, but the headphones are amazing with the virtual room effect turned on.
I'm thinking this might be the best $1.60 I've spent in quite a while!

I cant find it in the market. Is it just called Volume plus or actually the + sign? I get a volume control plus but its free

Wouldnt DSP Manager make it louder also?

Here is the link:

It is also supposed to be available on his site for free, and here at XDA, but, for the price, and considering it works well, I'm not about to fret $1.60.

Weird noise in headphones while scrolling homescreens?

That could be a good thing as far as aosp goes though. May not mean anything but I remember reading a post from someone in a aosp thread who said he could hear noise while scrolling through his home screens and wearing head phones. And someone else made the comment that maybe there was sound but it was just so low you couldn't hear it. That while working on sound for another phone they plugged it into an amp and they actually had sound. Don't really know where I'm going with this but just kinda thinking out loud.

Best possible audio!!!!!!

Any audiophiles in here know how to squeeze the best sounding audio outta this phone? I am a sucker for sound quality and I would like to know the best setup, app, settings, Audi files (that actually play on this phone)(flac doesn't seem to work), ect......I honestly don't think the beats audio zip for ALL apps even does anything cause I can't tell a difference (hell, that may even be why i was having in-car call quality issues). Thanks in advance guys!!

We had a thread like this many months ago (obviously I wouldn't expect you to find it, but just letting you know)
FLAC does work on CM9.
According to a.mcdear, this phone has a TI dac. (forgot the model)
Unfortunately, we do not have a voodoo sound kernel because supercurio only develops for Samsung phones.

Subtle changes and it works great. But equalizer settings can vary based on the type of music and even the way it was mixed. Tone knobs off.

I'll bite: howz com y'all no likey this?
I understand that it must be considered pointless, given the unanimous scorn but, as an unabashed noob, I would like to know why.
For instance; there is a definite boost to the volume I get when playing music through my car speakers, using Bluetooth, and an equalizer app (so long as I use particular settings). Given that, why does it appear that no previous respondents to this thread seem willing to entertain the idea that the pitched (intentional word choice) app could provide a similar result.
I have no vested interest in this app: I have a great interest in the nature of the responses to the OP, however.

I can't speak for all these jerks, but to get an actual audio boost, you just change a few numbers in a single system file. I do it every time I flash a new rom and never have to worry about keeping an app open.

That is how it is, Sony phones are tend to be little gentle on the volume, especially if you compare it to the M8.
I think all water proof phones have low volumes due the seal.

What things did you try to boost volume so far?
I've been playing with the settings and found a way to almost double the volume on the ringer, music is (for me) almost unbearably loud...

Start a song on the walkman and crank up the volume to max, then go to settings and tap sound:

}
Tap 'Sound Effects'
Stick to the above settings for the best result and tap 'Sound Enhancements'
Choose a EQ setting which you like.
Now tap the Settings tab, On this setting the volume is maxed up, but you can play around with it and check whatever you like best.
For me, this way the music is even louder then I can bare at max volume...

Gotta agree with @Nut, dude, its so loud with all those settings. xD Maybe go for louder versions of the songs you're listening to?

Does the xLoud setting also have an effect on the volume of Notifications, Ringtones, Alarms, etc? Or only music playback through the Walkman app?

It has effect on all of the sound out of your Z2, the whole 'Sound Enhancements' does.
go to the equalizer and put everything at +10

Excellent!
I'll be sure to test it out when I get home from work. Hopefully this will sort out the fairly quiet alarm sounds since I use my phone as an alarm clock.
So by editing the equalizer, that effects the notifications sounds? E.g put all tabs up to +5? As they are my only issue at the moment, just not loud enough!
I use this as my notification tone, although low I can hear it even in other room. Try it out, gorgeous affect it creates! Shows full quality and depth of the speakers.

Sony should tweak the equaliser setting for the speaker. It sounds like it is trying to push out too much bass and the mids and highs get muffled as a result.
I have an xperia play and it's sound output is not as warm as the Z2 but it's louder (too loud) and cleaner because it is pushing out no bass. The xperia play has really clean mids and really freaking high highs.
Try viper4android,you can boost up to +6db
