Hi.
I exchanged the internal SD card with an 8 GB.
I did this by copying both partitions of the original sd card onto the new one in GParted.
Rom is booting normally.
Just to clear things up:
The internal partitions are not deleted by installing a rom, right?
They can just be formatted, but not changed in size by installing a Rom?

yes... the internal is not deleted...
tho you can change the size manually no problem but it is a problem when you are trying to do nandroid backup because the size is mismatch...
can I access the internal SD via USB in GParted by connecting the S5 via USB (no dismantling)?

we have tried that... but unfortunately internal sd of streak is not meant to be accessed via usb... so .. no you cant...
you have to dismantle it...

Are other layouts faster than stock layout?

no matter how the layout was made.. its the same..
you can access the internal sd if you read the thread 16gb inner sd that i made... you have to read the whole thread to get the idea how to though..
regarding the nandroid backup:
If I want to install an existing nandroid from another Streak with 2 gb SD card it is not useable on a Streak with 8 GB internal SD because of size mismatch?
usually you would not have that kind of problem...
I am a member of the anonymous flashaholics...
flashed a nandroid backup today...
Backup was taken from a 2 GB card - onto my 8BG
I can use the full 8 GB storage...

Im not new to installing Roms on Android devices but Im having a hard time understanding the SD card setup. I realize the internal is the 16GB and the External is whatever you make it. I have a 8GB CL6 I installed and am not sure how the phone determines what goes on each.
I noticed Clockwork installs on the internal. Im about to flash Vibrant6 and am not sure if an ext3/4 partition would benefit me on the external. What tells the phone where to store the cache and files. Do all roms have to be flashed from the internal card? Looking for some clarification. Thanks.
I copy my roms on the External Sd Card and then I use Clockwork to boot into recovery and install from there.

I thought clockwork only sees the internal "sdcard" (/system/sdcard)

thats where i was confused. Nandroid backups are on internal, as well as the rest of clockwork files. not sure if its rom specific that dalvic and apps use the external over internal. should have just been NAND, thats what Sammy does for a job.
howdy.
after installing GBv1.1 and v1.2
my SD card will no longer mount in the phone. i have two SDs and they both work fine in my nook color, and in recovery on my eris, but not when in the GB system.
anyone have any experience with this

Did you have your SD card partitioned before you started using GB? Froyo (and I assume GingerBread, too) don't like the SD card being having multiple partitions and basically result in the symptom you're describing.
If so, you'd have to make a backup of everything on your SD card (to your computer), reformat the SD card (preferably from Amon RA recovery) with NO Ext2 or Swap partition, and using the full space available as a FAT32 partition, in order for Froyo or GB to recognize it.
hey all,
i was about to wipe and flash a new rom but accidentally clicked the partition sd in cwm. i think the size of the partition was 128mb...
i flashed the rom anyways and its like nothing happened. i plugged the phone into the pc and only shows the internal memory and my external sd card.
any1 had experienced this b4?
a little worried so need some input from others.
cheers
By internal u mean the 11.50gb partition and by external you mean ur memory card? Ofcourse you can only see those two.. You can see the 1.9gb partition of your phone because it is where the application gets installed and it is not used as storage for media etc(if you know what i mean)..
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
from what i understand, the cwm 5.0 function "partition sd" means the 1.9gb partition. i think i partitioned that portion of the fone. anyway to reverse that? would a restore of backup clear that 128mb partition i made?
No, partition SD is the external one (micro sd)

I bought a 4GB sd card and made a 512MB partition so I could link my apps on it using Link2SD app. It was all nice until my Huawei U8110 had an error on dialer so I had to do Factory reset and decided if I would do it why shouldn't I install new ROM. I installed Pro Celestial v2. It was all nice, I used Titanium backup to backup my apps and restore it later, but when I installed new ROM all the apps were there, but not linked. If I would backup them using TB then the link would work, but then they would take twice the space on that 512MB partition. So I decided to format that partition and start linking apps on it from the start.
I used Mini Tool Partition Wizard to format that partition. Both of my partitions were FAT32. But, when I rebooted my phone, there were no signs of partition, even later on PC. Just the 3,5GB partition was there, even TB didn't detect that there is another partition. It seems like that partition is gone, and I can't bring it back. I can't format my sd card because that option in settings->sd card menu is unclickable. Can anyone help me bring my all 4gb from sd card back?
Have you tried formatting your SD card via PC?

Hi Guys..
Wondering if someone can help..
I have been running CM9 and some other ICs ROMS for a while now.. and have started to receive the following notification.
"format USB storage, erasing all files stored there?"
I initially did this ( did backup to PC first) and it made no difference... it still keeps on coming up.. i have also formatted via CWM too...
This is solely with internal SD and no external SD installed... i am unsure how i can fix this..
I have searched around a bit but can only find answers relating to a removable SD card (removing and formatting via SD card slot in PC) and not the internal one..
Any ideas?

Just a suggestion:
You may have to flash a new ROM with ODIN and enable the Re-Partition option.
Try to use the pit file for the ROM you are flashing.
Good luck !
