doing that now the ruu was found now the battay is to low to go on any way to change the battery in the phonew at this point

If it doesn't charge while the phone is off then I would suggest buying an external battery charger. You could probably pick one up from Amazon for 10-20.

Phone won't boot

So i dropped my phone today and its getting stuck on a boot loop of the HTC screen. I can still access recovery and stuff but it literally won't boot up into android.
Any ideas?
That's odd..try flashing a new rom or making a backup then wipe/restore maybe
I'm Batman..

So do I, 3 months ago, don't know how to fix the boot loop with HTC screen...
Can you connect to pc and load an ruu?
If Recovery, Then..
SO if you can get into the recovery, have you tried to wipe or do a full reset? Or even loading another ROM that you may have loaded on your SD? If no ROM, get one on that SD and give it a shot, I would have to say that anything lost is replaceable and better than no phone at all... (most important stuff is stored on SD in my world, aside from SMS)
If you are boot looping then your phone is OK, it is not bricked. You simply need a software fix. An RUU should do the trick.
Hey so I tried wiping flashing ... I got it to boot once and once the battery died it would no longer boot past the HTC screen. Also it wouldn't loop fully. It would load the splash HTC screen and then turn off again. I ended up filing a claim and am on the new phone.. sigh hboot 1.5 ...

If the phone turns on it isn't bricked. No need to replace it.

Agreed, you don't lose/corrupt data by dropping a phone. You can crack solder joins and other parts though.

Need to know

Hi, im haveing my EVO View repaired by HTC and i need to know how to un-revolutionary, because i dont have usb connectivity (The charging port is not working)
Could somone help me? I need to get back to S-ON
Just hope they don't charge. I asked the same thing before I shipped it out. Luckily they just emailed me today saying it's fixed and said they are going to ship back. How did you damage the port?
I mistakenly tried to put the wrong side of the charger plug in.
Very sensitive the port is

That won't over write the hboot. You need to be able to push the hboot with adb from recovery. Really not sure if there is a way to do it without a USB connection. Maybe in a terminal emulatorwhile booted although I am not sure if trying to push an hboot while fully booted

So, does anyone know if they can even tell? at this point the device wont power on, but they would have to repair it and charge it up to even know its rooted, right?

Correct. And the only way to do this would be to somehow dd a stock HBOOT (I could provide one) over the revolutionary one, and reflash the stock ROM. It would go like this, but since your device isn't powered it's kinda useless:
1. Install the stock RUU on your device (extract the rom.zip from it, google extract rom.zip extract RUU) rename the rom.zip PG41IMG and place on sdcard >>> reboot into hboot.
2. After 2 complete passes, reboot into the system with the hboot of the RUU on the sd. DD it using Terminal Emulator (a command like this, don't actually run it: dd if=/hboot.nb0 of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p18)
3. Reboot into fast boot to confirm the stock restore.
4. ???
5. Profit
Now obviously the device will require power here and when I used this method I had to stop midway to charge, so even 40% battery isn't an option.
EDIT: If you can get some battery, just do HTC Unlock. Although it's a warranty void, I think HTC would provide support rather to the guy who used their tools instead of a third party one.
My 2 cents, but their 1950 special edition ones so don't lose em!
Oh yeah I just realized you could take your sdcard out and put it into the computer to put files on it, if you can even get it charged though :/

Okay. So your saying that since it can't boot I'm fine, the would HAVE to fix it because it disent have enough charge?
Sent from my ADR6300 using xda premium
I had the same problem back in December. My advice is to turn off your device and conserve as much battery power as you can until you figure out what to do, because once you run out, you're stuck. Unfortunately for me, I found out my port was broken when I plugged it in when I ran out of batteries. I sent it to HTC though, and within a couple weeks I had it back, with HC on it. If you do send it in, make sure to back everything up because they flashed mine.

Well if HTC fixes the port and charges it up and finds revolutionary, I doubt they would refuse to send it back. They've fixed it already.
there have been a couple of people who managed to charge their flyer by taking off the back plate and charging the battery directly. This would only fix a portion of your problem. In the end if you do not have usb connectivity I am not sure you can replace the Hboot. If the port is broken it really has nothing to do with being S Off. I can not see why it would impact the repairs, although I think you stand a decent chance of recieving an invoice.

need to enable usb debugging but cant get to settings

I need to enable usb debugging so i can relock the bootloader and return my phone for a replacement. Only problem is my touchscreen is completely out so i cant get into the settings to enable it. Is there any way i could do it threw the bootloader or anything or am i screwed? Thanks

If you are replacing it via insurance carrier, dont worry about it... they don't care.
its threw verizon...warranty..i have it back to stock. its on the latest ota..but bootloader is still s-off
I have the same problem, I can't enable USB debugging because I'm locked out of the phone, and the volume up button is broken so I can't get into recovery. I need to factory wipe but I'm stuck!
Would it be possible to change the ROM and enable USB debugging, then save it and flash it?
I have an idea for a way to do it but you would have to decompile settingsprovider.apk and change that default in the code and put it back in the ROM

What is wrong with your phone? I wouldn't worry to much about your phone being locked because if you're sending it to asurion they aren't even going to check it.

Warranty I guess. My first thunderbolt took a **** so they sent me a replacement. The replacement worked for 2 weeks then the touch screen went out and now I have to send it back

They charged me $300 for the first one I sent back cause the screen is cracked and now I'm bout to send this two week pos back unlocked and afraid it's gonna happen again. $600 for a thunderbolt lol

If nothing is happening, no lights, nothing on the pc, i would say your s-off attempted failed. Have you tried taking the battery out and letting it sit for a few then booting it back up? i dont think thats going to help. IMO i would say its dead unless someone else knows of anything.
I know in the computer world if something like that happens and the USB ports are fine on the PC its the devices thats dead..im assuming the same would go for the phones

imo if its not doing a thing, then i would say the usb fried during your s-off attempt. Im not sure if the s-off could cause an issue like that, im not s-off and dont plan on it just for that reason. shorting the phone out doesnt sound to pleasing to me

I've seen this before browsing the forums. I got S-Off first time so didn't commit it to memory. Definitely visit the UI site and check. The answer may be to run the process again but verify that.
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda premium
See there you go lol, someone with a lil more experience with the s-off stuff then me after doing a little searching it does appear that you can recover from that s-off failure...now it seems that the pc needs to be able to see the phone in order to do so, so it might still be a paperweight, but i guess ill let others chime in and see what they say
---------- Post added at 03:44 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:36 AM ----------
I also just read a few threads that ppl did fry their usb ports when getting s-off, and also as bad killing the phone..exactly why i dont want to s-off, theres not much i cant do being s-on besides radios and kernals, and even then their work arounds for that
So I'm really screwed?

If you can get to bootloader you're rarely screwed. You can always run a RUU. If your port is fried, S-Off may no longer be an option but you can charge in other ways.

Like LOOB said, you might not be able to charge via the usb port, but there are app that you can use to get wireless ADB and file transfers and stuff. Also as for charging get an external battery charger. You can find them online fairly cheap. I had to get one for my thunderbolt because the usb port was shot

When that happened to my first Rezound ultimately the only choice was a warranty return. Not sure they still have Rezounds now. Not sure how it happened, only that one day I couldn't connect to PC. Couldn't even run fastboot usb. It charged (thankfully) but it didn't connect.
