i'm on ics, will this guide still work?
Yes. Unlocking is the same procedure. The s-off procedure should be as well.

You obviously didn't look very hard... whatsoever.... I mean, you didn't look at all actually. And that's quite discouraging.
You don't even have an international Atrix which was a bit of a struggle. It is dead simple to unlock the bootloader on your phone. But I won't tell you how. If you can't find the thread and read the instructions on your own you'll probably fail. If you can find the thread and still have questions I'd be more than willing to help though.
You just got bongd, btw wrong section lol

I'll be a nice guy though. The thread is found here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1136261
Go there and read everything. The step-by-step breakdown is here - http://goo.gl/vfUXc
Between these two links you will definitely unlock your phone with ease.

Has anyone actually got a way to put a custom recovery onto the i605 verizon Samsung Galaxy note 2 yet? I Have looked and looked all over for a way to get it on my note 2 but every attempt had failed with the yellow triangle. I Have bought the app, triangle away, but it doesn't seem to work on the Verizon i605 note 2. So Please if anyone can help me figure this out, I would be very grateful for your help. Thank you.

You have to use adam's unlock and root method first as linked in the above post. That procedure will leave you with TWRP custom recovery on the phone.
Good luck

Yes, and don't forget to upgrade to the latest TWRP after install. You can do this using GooManager from the Play Store. :good:

If you look at the Original Android Development section for this phone, the thread on how to do everything is almost always near the top,

Sometimes folks do not have enough current knowledge about a given subject to find the info needed. Glad you got what you needed!!
I did look, but unfortunately it was in the wrong place. When I first got onto this forum I looked in the area that did not have anything about rooting or recovery. So please before you go being all honesty as you put it. Understand that for someone who may not be as smart as yourself. It may be really easy to get turned around in here. And if I'm not mistaken. Isn't this place where people come to get help? Not sarcasm? I'm sorry if my question makes you mad or upset you because I couldn't find the answer without having to ask for help. It makes me wonder how many people got mad at you for the questions that you have asked. Anyway, to those of you that I have not upset, thank you for your help and support... As I am still learning the ways of forums.

Okay, so after waiting for God knows how long for Jellybean, I finally decided to root my phone.
But, alas, I have NO IDEA how to do this.
I've tried researching it, but everything I find makes no sense whatsoever.
Does anyone know where an easy, step by step on how to root is?

Have you read the stickies on the forum yet?

Follow one of these sets of steps:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1285894
Just remember folks that reading all the sticky threads (those are the threads that appear at the top of the threads) is something we're ALL expected to do. Even and especially if you're new here. Also searching using google with xda key words and using the site search function are a must. Not tying to be rude, but we were all new once. Let the new users be an example to other new users.
I figured it out.
Thanks guys!
And yeah, shoulda read the stickies ahead of time.

I was wondering if anyone knows of a guide for flashing the Evo to straight talk. I can't find anything except people on eBay that will remotely flash it. I would rather do it myself that way I would know how if I needed to do it again. Plus I have 2 Evo lte's. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Ask the guy in this thread, he seems to be an expert flashing phones, so fas he has answered most of the questions about this:

Sorry for being a noob in advance I really would like to root this phone, and have been trying for like the past 3-4 months trying everything from z4 root the app to hasoon2000's all-in-one toolkit, and I still cannot seem to root it. If anyone thinks they can help me or if you would like to try please msg me. And so what exactly is s-off? What do drivers do and how do i know which to get? How to temp root? I appreciate you reading this thank you
Not getting sideways, but google is seriously your best friend in situations like this. Google exactly what your asking and read, read, read. To answer one of your questions, I know there hasn't been a 100% successful s-off procedure since the recent OTA update. I think its going to be a while before one is found.

S-off has been achieved on the latest ota. I have used it myself.
My fault for the misleading info, what s-off procedure did you use?
