Huh?
?
Do you mean you are going to make a custom rom and are asking if you should base it on gingerbread or ics?
Rom is already made
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1791167
i think the title should be "v6"
You better prepare 2 roms, 1 based on the argentina gb and the other one on ICS leak. But let ICS develop for a while it's not stable yet, and there's no source code, so I don't expect any major changes for the leak but minor bugfixes.
i ll make laytveyit v5 final without native bugs and i ll make another rom with ics base

Hello,
I have Samsung Galaxy S2 having Gingerbread FIrmware XXKG3
i m new to android. i want to know is ICS is better then Gingerbread,
if yes, can any1 provide me official latest firmware of ICS which doesnt contacin any bugs.
i saw in some forum that some negative review abt camera n bettery life in ICS, please clear me that ICS is better option or GB.
and please give me Latest Official ICS firmware which doesnt contain any bugs for my Galaxy S2
thankyou
Froyo pawns them both!
There is NO official ICS. Like the rest of the world we have to wait until this is officially available.
Expermiment with the beta's if you like but MAKE SURE you READ everything and know how to get out of sticky situations.
Stick with GB.
GB works ICS works in parts .
But ICS is beloved of noobs that dont have a clue and choose to flash a buggy beta test rom as their first ever flash and then cry help .
Their is no official only leaked buggy beta test builds and some custom roms based on that leak . Easy to find just search the forum .

Palm OS. 10 c
For now GB is better but when offical ics arrives it will be way more better

I know this question might have already been answered, but since the official MIUI v4 based on ICS is coming on our device on the 29th, I was wondering how's the situation about Samsung and sources so that developers could build custom ICS kernels. I can't wait to try MIUI v4, but I can't live without some advanced features such as led-notif (or BLN, where unavailable), OC/UV and LOUDER.
No Sammy sources yet.
No custom kernels, hence.
Expect Sammy stock kernel sources about 2 to 4 weeks after ICS is officially available via KIES in the first regions.
Custom kernels about a week after that, give or take.
Well, after flashing the latest Miui V4 from Miui Scottland and Miuiandroid, i hate to say that its utterly ****. This is my opinion btw.
After flashing(correctly of course, wipe all including system and dalvik). Slow, buggy unresponsive. Applying a theme just caused me a boot loop and im going back to CM9. If Miui was the only rom, I'd go back to its GB roms. Does anybody else experience this?
miuiv4 doesn't fully support themes yet and contains many annoying bugs
better to wait it out. keep reading the usual weekly updates and the buglists in the meantime. so till then use gb if you want or go cm9/aokp if you want some ice cream
miuiandroid's v4 is as stable as the samsung base.
v4 does'nt support themes yet. leave it as default and u'll find its as bug free as samsung base.
wait till they update the base to the latest lp7, which i think is much better than the previous ones.
Why no developer working on MIUI Rom based on Gingerbread 2.3.7 since Android 4.0 based roms still not fully working due absence of drivers.Such as the MIUI 2.4 ,it is stable than ics and MIUI V4.
Because if you look in the developer forums, there is no 2.3.7 release for our device. Highest and most recent version of android is 2.3.5 Gingerbread.
Besides that, we have no direct kernel access, so we currently can't have a full ICS experience.
Because upstream MIUI has moved on from CM7 and the CM9 we have is definitely stable enough to use.
If you want one, make one! That's what I did.

I find two versions of CM10 in this tutorial which are CM10 with and without KEXEC respectively.
SO what is the difference between of them?
thanks!!
I believe that kexec cm10 is a ROM version which has a custom kernel that " hijacks" the stock kernel when booting. But I warn you it has a lot of major bugs like no camera, battery drain, and much more. On the other hand Just regular cm10 is fairly stable and runs off the stock kernel (recommended). But remember since the new leaked jb ota came out for the RAZR. You just can't flash a ROM made for the ICS ota on the jb ota. UNLESS YOU USE KEXEC. THIS ONE WILL WORK ON ALL OTAs
Hope I helped
