ES File Explorer File Manager crashes ;( - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Dear all,
I really like the ES File Explorer but I have a strange problem.
It just crashes very often, during exploring the files on my internal or external SD.
To figure out the cause, I tried to
- used a differend SD-card
- used a stock rom with full wipe
- used a differend SGIII with my SD-card
but the problem is still unsolved.
I hope, anyone has an idea for a possible solution.
Many thanks in advance.
Best regards
Mario

Tried clearing data?

Yes, but it was still the same.

Uninstall then reinstall?

Media scanner not working

UPDATE: I totally wiped the phone and installed a newer ROM. That fixed the problem. Cheers to the tactical nuke option!
Recently installed a new theme, the KI4 modem and latest Speedmod kernel, and now my Google Music app no longer detects any of my music.
I can't logically trace/remember which specific OS tweak caused the phone to not detect my media anymore, but the problem only emerged since yesterday.
I've read a bunch of threads, tried several different fix methods (reformat the SD card, reboot, USB debug mode on/off, etc) but had no luck. I downloaded the "Rescan Media Root" app, but even it didn't work.
Any idea what would cause my phone to stop recognizing media?
My next solution is to completely wipe the phone and reinstall a stock OS (tactical nuke option).
Appreciate any insight. I'm familiar with CWM and Odin, and willing to try any repair. Thanks!

If you hawe "nomedia" folder in the sd card delet or use root explorer and see ther delet the "nomedia" folder.

Didn't find any "nomedia" folder.
I'm really perplexed. I can see all of my music files through ED file explorer, but then the same files aren't picked up by my music apps.

[Q] Root Explorer + ICS = Slow file browsing & searching

Hi all,
Is anyone else seeing very slow performance with Root Explorer and ICS?
I don't believe it's to do with the CF-Root kernel as it seems the same with SiyahKernel.
I've done a couple of full wipes (formatting partitions) to make sure there was nothing strange going on.
Everything just seems really slow compared to Root Explorer on GB, folder browsing, searching, its all in slow motion...
Anyone have any suggestions or am I the only person seeing this?
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

I found the problem, it was the "Full Content" logging in SuperSU causing the slowness.

Rooted my phone and moved some apps and now I can't install anything. Help?

Hey guys, I'm using the LG Optimus F6 (or D500). I rooted it today and started playing around, and now when I try installing any apk file I get an error saying "[app name] could not be installed. Free up some space and try again", however I have more than enough space on both internal and SD. I have no idea what's going on, and if anyone knows about this I'd thank you forever.
I'm going to list everything I did after rooting just in case it means anything:
Moved a few apps to SD and uninstalled bloatware
Tried to move chrome browser to sd by converting it to user app, and then it disappeared and I can't download it to the market due to "insufficient space"
Changed the boot animation in ROM Toolbox (which didn't work)
I'm not sure what caused it, but the issue appeared after I messed around with chrome with seems like a terrible idea cause I didn't really know very well what I was doing. Has anyone had this issue or know how to fix it? Thank you so much!
What do you mean disappeared? The file must still be there, use es file explorer and search for it.
Otherwise you'll need to flash the kdz for your phone.

Large files copy fails with kitkat 4.4.2

Hi guys,
i've been struggling with this issue for weeks, tried everything and still didn't find a solution.
When i copy/cut large files, the tranfer speed suddently drops to 0kb/s and freezes.
It happens on operation within the phone and when tranfer file from pc too.
I've obiouvsly done dozen of total wipes.
I've tried different 4.4.2 roms.
I've tried different file mananger apps.
I've tried different kernels.
I've done a chkdsk on internal and external sd cards.
I've tried another external sd card.
So, because I was concerned about an hardware failure, I flashed the stock 4.1.2 rom.....used it for 4-5 days and the problem was gone.
Back to 4.4.2 and the issue is still here.
The strange thing is I don't have this issue with a fresh installed rom...it comes after configuring and using the phone for a while.
I've done an intensive google research, but seems no one has this problem, hope somebody can help
cheers:fingers-crossed:

as I said, is not only a problem when tranferring from pc to phone, but it happens also when copy files from phone to phone !
it happens even in recovery mode mounting usb storages!
nobody with a similar problem?
I had same problem like this. When I copied large no. of photos & videos from PC to my S2, I would get android.media FC everytime, so what I did is make a .nomedia file (using file manager) in a folder and copied there, that fixed it.

[Q] I have this problem

Please help me solve this problem..Already formatting my phone..
Need more info than that pal, does it work fine using data and not WiFi? If so check your router first. Can't help any more without further information like what the actual problem is, currently I'm guessing

Just try----
Wipe cace/delvik cache.download root explorer or any root file manager app and go to- etc folder-open file named "hosts''-open it in text editor-and delete everything and save it.
